Chapter 6 - Ambush

The horses' hooves echoed, shaking the damp forest floor; the darkness of night deepened, but dozens of black shadows remained silent and hidden among the dense trees, ready to attack from various positions, lurking behind leaves and bushes; the air crackled with held tension, a magic aura simmered in readiness; Blaze, or Sixty-Nine, lurked from the highest tree branch, a dark silhouette barely visible, beneath him dozens of Shadow Blade members formed an organized formation, each radiating a controlled aura of magic, showing their veiled readiness; from his position, Blaze felt the pulse of dark energy within him, ready to use Shadow Step to move quickly and unseen, seeking an opening to attack; a few faint shadows flickered for a moment, illusions designed to confuse the enemy if the situation demanded it.

Below him, other Shadow Blade members were prepared. They held their weapons and magic tightly, ready to unleash a sudden attack. Burning Ember was ready to be launched, small fireballs hidden behind shadows, waiting for the command to burn the enemy. Shadow Shackle, hidden shadow bonds, were ready to restrict the enemy's movement. Obsidian Wall, a sturdy obsidian shield, was ready to withstand counterattacks. Whispering Daggers were safely stored, ready to be thrown quickly and silently. Shadow Lance, deadly shadow spears, awaited the right moment to strike from the darkness.

Blaze, waiting for the right time, was ready to unleash Dark Flame Strike, Shadow Bind, and Eclipse Flame as his main attacks. He was also ready to use Void Slash for a quick and precise fatal attack. However, all his abilities were still hidden, waiting for the right moment to strike undetected.

Tension filled the air. The night awaited. Preparations were complete.

They weren't just ordinary assassins, they were executors who had survived countless deadly missions.

In front of Duke Reynard's entourage, guards with the Carmesim Order emblem escorted them tightly. They wore black armor that gleamed under the moonlight, a layer of magic protection emanated faintly from its surface, radiating an aura of power and vigilance. Their swords were drawn, their eyes sharp and alert, observing every movement around them. The air was filled with a chilling tension.

Blaze observed carefully from behind the shadows, assessing every movement and weakness in the guard formation. He then gave a subtle signal to Thirteen, the leader of this operation, a small movement that only those trained in the art of disguise and assassination could understand. With a small nod in return, the silent command was given, marking the beginning of the attack.

At that moment, a wave of attacks surged from the darkness. Arrows infused with dark magic shot with incredible speed, penetrating gaps in the Carmesim Order's defenses. Along with that, magic from other Shadow Blade members erupted.

A number of small fireballs, like burning embers, shot out at high speed, striking several Carmesim Order guards. "Burning Ember!" shouted some Shadow Blade members.

Strong shadow bonds emerged from the darkness, ensnaring several Carmesim Order guards. "Shadow Shackle!" another voice echoed.

Poisoned daggers shot from the darkness, almost invisible, piercing gaps in the armor. "Whispering Daggers!" a low hiss could be heard.

Sharp shadow spears emerged from the darkness, piercing the Carmesim Order's defenses with precision. "Shadow Lance!" a firm shout broke the silence.

Aahhhhh

Screams of pain could be heard, mixed with the sound of clashing metal and erupting magic. Several Carmesim Order guards fell instantly, blood flowing on the forest floor, mixing with the damp earth. The sudden and deadly attack had succeeded. The Carmesim Order's guard formation, which had been neat, was now chaotic and fragmented. Blaze, from the darkness, waited for the right moment to unleash his own attack.

"Attack!" Thirteen's voice echoed, cutting through the silence of the night. Dozens of black shadows that had not yet unleashed their attacks leaped from their hiding places, charging into the Carmesim Order's guard formation. The attack began, a violent storm of swords and magic. The air roared with the sound of clashing metal, energy explosions, and the shouts of the warriors fighting.

Amidst the chaos, Blaze took advantage of Shadow Step, disappearing and reappearing among the Carmesim Order guards with terrifying speed. He moved like a ghost, dodging attacks and creating gaps in the enemy's defenses.

Blaze saw an opportunity. With a quick and precise movement, he swung his sword, unleashing Void Slash. A dark slash, filled with terrifying energy, escaped from his blade. The air vibrated violently, split by the immense power. Cracks in space and time appeared, swirling to form a terrifying vortex of dark energy. Several unfortunate Carmesim Order guards were sucked into the vortex, their bodies and spirits exploding in a flash of light and powerful energy.

The chaos intensified. The remaining Carmesim Order guards were overwhelmed by the sudden and powerful attack from the Shadow Blade. Burning Ember burned their armor, Shadow Shackle restricted their movement, Whispering Daggers inflicted deadly poison wounds, and Shadow Lance pierced their defenses with precision. They struggled to hold on, but the Shadow Blade's attack was too strong and well-coordinated.

Blaze, taking advantage of the chaos, moved agilely among the overwhelmed guards, dodging attacks and seeking opportunities to strike. He was like a bloodthirsty predator, eliminating one Carmesim Order guard after another with terrifying speed, even faster than the speed of light and with deadly precision. Each swing of his sword was filled with deadly dark energy, creating deep wounds on his opponent's body and spirit, it was a very deadly attack.

Their bodies and spirits exploded in a vortex of energy, leaving behind a terrifying destruction.

On the other side of the battlefield, Twenty-Five, a warrior armed with twin spears, moved like a whirlwind. His spears, carved with ancient runes that emitted a dim light, danced in the air with incredible speed. He fought against two trained Carmesim Order knights, showering them with quick and precise attacks. Each of his attacks was filled with deadly power, piercing and trapping his opponents mercilessly. One of the knights tried to block the attack with a gleaming holy energy shield, but Twenty-Five's spear was too fast, piercing the defense. The other knight tried to enhance the power of his sword with a holy aura, but Twenty-Five's attack was too strong, destroying the holy aura and injuring the knight.

Meanwhile, Thirty-Seven, a trained shadow mage, raised his hand, his fingers moving gracefully, drawing dark energy from his surroundings. A dense aura of shadow magic billowed from his body. A thick fog of darkness erupted from Thirty-Seven's hand, enveloping the battlefield in an instant. "Black Veil!" he exclaimed. The fog was not just ordinary darkness, but also infused with shadow magic energy that interfered with perception and blinded the eyes. The Duke's guards lost their orientation, trapped in a confusing labyrinth of shadows.

Long, sharp shadow claws attacked from the darkness, Placing the misguided guards under the onslaught of the unseen. "Shadow Claws!" Finally, Thirty-Seven carved his words, Although his voice was weary and very hoarse, The sound of terrifying whispers echoed within the fog, "Whispering Shadows!" The sound added tension to the atmosphere and Ignites the flames of chaos and despair in the hearts of the Carmesim Order "Nightfall!" Thirty-Seven's voice seemed to pierce the ethereal air with a cold aura like the sound of the angel of death taking lives in the darkness, piercing the heart of a person and preventing love and affection from emerging in desire. They are further equipped Darkness, creating illusions and misleading the guards-"Nightfall!". The sound of the unseen angel of death was very cold. Thirty-Seven and his shadows created a Soft Chaos in the resulting darkness, which gave the Shadow Blade members an advantage to slaughter. The Carmesim Order members died one by one under their hands."
