Chapter 73 - Fangs Bared, Fury Descending

The thought worried me for a moment until a powerful wave of climax came over me, and I let out a long, delightful sound as I orgasmed.

My core clenched around his tongue, my legs shaking from the intensity of it.

Dragos got off his knees and held me just as I lost control of my legs.

After I'd calmed down, I looked over at him, finding him smiling at me.

I turned red in embarrassment. "I'm sorry if I almost smothered you," I said in a small voice, looking away shyly.

Dragos helped pull up my bottoms, adjusting the strings.

"I wouldn't have cared if you did. I'm immortal, remember?"

"Ah, yes. Forgive the lapse in my memory, good sir" I joked, my hands sliding down to feel his erection through his pants.

He was rock-hard.

"Perhaps I can help relieve you of this... situation"

He smirked. "I wouldn't mind, darling"

I kissed him again, slowly trailing my lips to his earlobe, giving it a gentle suck before my hands moved to undo the buttons of his polo. I tugged the fabric down, just enough to expose his chest, and brought my mouth to his nipple. I ran my tongue over it, and a low moan escaped his lips.

The sound sent a tantalizing thrill through me, so I swept my tongue over it again, this time sucking harder, liking the way he tensed beneath me.

He was enjoying it, and I loved that I had this effect on him.

When I was done, I sank to my knees.

Dragos stared down at me. "I like you on your knees," he said huskily.

Smiling up at him, my hands moved to undo his fly. "Good thing I don't plan on getting up anytime soon, then. You'll love what's coming next"

I tugged his zipper down and eased his pants lower, my lips wrapping around him as I began to tease with my tongue.

Dragos' hand tightened in my hair, a relieved breath escaping his lips as I took him in.

I sucked him from root to tip, taking my time, and enjoying how he reacted to it.

I liked how his breathing grew ragged, how his hand further tightened in my hair, how his body responded to my every movement, and how he groaned as I worked him with my mouth.

I was just starting to get lost in the moment, my goal solely set on his ultimate pleasure, when a silent alarm screamed went off my senses rang with a warning.

I knew Dragos felt it too because he stopped me, quickly adjusting himself and moving forward.

His eyes swept the compound for any sign of danger.

Just as we suspected, an unclear figure came forth from the darkness, moving with unnatural speed toward us, but before Dragos could react, the vampire appeared before us and seized me.

Dragos moved forward, a wild hiss escaping his lips as he reached for me, but the vampire's speed was beyond what we both expected—its powers had been amplified by something.

Perhaps another relic was in its possession.

He was a big vampire—wider than Dragos in frame, but not taller, and his long, sharp claws dug into my fragile neck.

As he held me captive, I managed to steal a glance up at the vampire, who hatefully glared at Dragos with eyes that glowed with a pitch-black colour, different from the usual bloodshot red of a vampire's gaze.

"Release her," Dragos demanded angrily, taking a step closer. His muscles were tense and ready for a fight, but the male vampire remained unfazed.

"So you are the famed Dragos Nicolae Vlad III." he spoke up "The Alesul. Now, I see why Elizabeta was always so smitten with you"

Dragos smirked. "Can't say the same about you"

"I'd like to introduce myself," he said finally. His voice was calm. Confident. "I am Cassius."

Dragos' eyes flamed with anger. "Sorry, but your name doesn't ring any bells,"

"No" he replied, "It wouldn't,"

Cassius' grip around my neck tightened and I made a squeak of discomfort, making Dragos take another menacing step forward, but the vampire tutted in disapproval.

"I wouldn't do that if I were you" he warned. "By now you would have noticed I move faster than any average vampire. Almost as fast as you. I wouldn't recommend you attempt anything stupid. It won't take more than a second to rip through her neck"

Dacianus and Geta seemed to have sensed the commotion or Cassius' presence and appeared outside, their expressions turning to alarm as they took in the scene.

They both hissed at the intruder, before turning to stare at Dragos.

"We can take this bastard," Geta said confidently, turning to glare at Cassius who still appeared unfazed, but Dacianus studied him carefully while maintaining silence.

"He's faster than you think" Dragos replied. "Don't attempt anything"

"You killed my sire, Flavius," Cassius continued, his voice full of anger and grief. "He was like a father to me. And now you have Elizabeta. I traced her here."

His body remained composed, but the slight tremble in his voice betrayed his fear. "What have you done with her?"

Dragos scoffed, a goading edge to his tone. "How do you know she's not dead?"

Cassius stiffened at the implication. "I know she isn't. You will bring her to me or she dies"

They stared at each other heatedly for seconds, saying nothing before Dragos left in a blur of vampiric speed, appearing moments after with an unconscious and nearly desiccated Elizabeta.

Suddenly, with his other hand, he began to make strange hand movements, and soon a portal materialized before us. The sight left every one of us in surprise.

Cassius laughed wildly. "I know, it's not every day one witnesses a vampire with such powers." He paused, then ordered, "Push her in,"

Dragos still had Elizabeta in his grasp.

"Release Dawn first," he demanded.

Ignoring Dragos' demand, Cassius tightened his grip on my neck, drawing blood and a yelp escaped my lips.

"Stop!" Dragos commanded, pushing Elizabeta into the portal. "I did as you asked. Now release her."

"No," Cassius shook his head, a cruel smile on his lips. "You're going to suffer, Dragos. You're going to know what it's like to lose someone you love. But not quickly, oh no. You'll watch her suffer first. And when she begs for mercy, you'll know there's nothing you can do to save her."

With blinding speed, he shoved me into the portal, following swiftly behind me. As Dragos, Geta, and Dacianus lunged towards him, fangs bared and fury descending, the portal closed up.

†††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††

DRAGOS.

Feeling a combination of annoyance, frustration, and utter fear, I released a growl, my hand running through my hair.

Cassius had taken Dawn to use as leverage against me.

He had taken her to punish me.

"We must go after them!" I bellowed suddenly. "We have to find a way to track them down!"

"Agreed," Geta responded calmly. "But did you notice his eyes? How swiftly he moved? And that portal he conjured? There was a mysterious aura surrounding him."

"Perhaps he possessed a relic similar to the one Variel had..." I started to say, but Dacianus cut me off with a shake of his head.

"No. That wasn't a relic, it was beyond it" he disagreed firmly. "It was dark magic at play. Apparently, that sireling's been getting his hands dirty"

I paced impatiently, my agitation rising every second. "How are we even going to trace them?!" I bit out in frustration. "They disappeared into thin air"

"Portals leave patterns" Dacianus replied. "Patterns can be traced"

I was dissatisfied. "And how exactly are we going to do that?" My voice carried my exasperation. "We're not exactly well versed in matters of witchcraft or sorcery"

"I know someone that might be able to help" Dacianus responded after a moment of thinking, walking to the scene where Cassius had disappeared with both ladies. Not long after he crouched, inspecting the scene, he discovered something on the ground and called our attention to it.

We both stared at the black dust residue of the portal, Dacianus' expression growing more serious as he studied it.

"This might just be our first lead," he said happily. "We'll need somewhere to collect a sample of this"

"That's not a problem" Geta replied. "We have to get Darcia and Rafael to inform them of what happened"

"No!" I exclaimed immediately. "Mother's still recovering from Azrael's passing. I don't want to bother her again with this. Even if we were to take only Rafael, it'd raise her suspicions, so... no"

"You do understand that we need as many hands as we can get, right? We don't know what we're dealing with yet."

"I'm not going to risk losing my mother too. She stays out of this and that's final" I responded.

The atmosphere fell silent.

"This person you say you know. How soon can we find him?" I asked Dacianus.

"He's countries away, so it will take some time. I lost contact with him a long time ago, but I remember where he resides"

"That won't be an issue," I cut in, pulling out my phone from my back pocket and dialing a number.

I spoke to Rico, the head of our family's airline affairs, instructing him to prepare the private jet as quickly as possible. It was late, but it didn't matter.

The privileges of power and authority made sure that I could get whatever I desired, whenever I desired it.

After ending the call, I headed towards the mansion. "Get your things ready, we depart in half an hour"
