Just as Jane was leaving the Slytherin common room, something unexpected happened.
Something crashed into her stomach with lightning speed, like a cannonball.
Before she could react, she felt her neck being squeezed tight, nearly making her eyes roll back.
"M-murder!"
The onlookers hurriedly pulled the unidentified object off of her.
After coughing for a while, Jane finally caught her breath and looked at the object... or person?
—It was Ginny Weasley from Gryffindor!
Her red hair was disheveled, and she stood with arms wide open in a hugging position, eyes brimming with excited tears.
Harry and Ron stood beside her, firmly holding her back to prevent another tackle.
"Hi, Yu—" Harry greeted her, his eyes full of admiration, "We're here to thank you."
"We've been waiting here for three whole days until you finally came out!" Ron's face was flushed, making his freckles even more prominent. "Thank you for saving my sister!"
Jane's expression froze.
Something seemed off.
Shouldn't Harry, as her witness #1, exercise his protagonist powers after waking up to pass righteous judgment and arrest her on the spot?
What was this sudden expression of gratitude about?
She felt something had deviated from her planned course behind the scenes.
Harry continued rambling about what happened in Snape's office, from learning that Tom from the diary was Voldemort, to how he testified about her heroic deeds in front of the professors and headmaster, successfully clearing her name.
"Thankfully I hadn't completely passed out then!" he said gratefully. "So I could witness your heroic battle!"
"Now Hagrid's been released by the Ministry, and the headmaster's been reinstated. You're truly our hero!"
Jane's face twisted in agony.
So you're the one who ruined my grand plan!
How could she have thought the protagonist was that unfortunate one?
The unfortunate one was clearly herself!
No wonder Harry suddenly appeared on the third floor - wherever there's a big bad boss, there must be a protagonist!
Haven't she suffered enough losses because of Harry Potter since first year?
In her mind, she was already slapping both her cheeks.
Harry's excited voice gradually faded as he observed her dejected expression. The green-eyed little lion anxiously nudged Ron's arm, signaling him to say something.
"Merlin's beard—" Ron muttered softly, turning to look at Ginny, trying to pass the conversation to his sister.
Ginny finally realized how inappropriate it was to bear-hug a girl she'd never met before in public. Her face reddened as she picked up a package from the ground, trembling as she thrust it into Jane's hands, shouting "Thank you!"
After completing this series of actions, she quickly ducked behind Ron, alternating between covering and uncovering her face, while pinching Ron's back hard enough to make him yelp in pain.
Faced with such an adorable first-year student, Jane's anger dissipated.
She nodded in thanks to Ginny, who seemed greatly encouraged and took a deep breath, pushing Ron aside:
"Thank you for keeping my secret!"
"I mean... the things I wrote in the diary," she said, blushing.
Jane wasn't entirely sure what the girl had written.
She only knew Ginny had been scammed for a whole year... a victim of telecom fraud.
She nodded understandingly and lightly tapped her wand in the air:
[Scam methods evolve daily, we must stay vigilant]
This girl clearly hadn't received anti-fraud training.
She hoped this slogan would help raise her awareness.
The three little lions watched Jane's retreating figure disappear around the corner with reverent gazes.
As soon as Jane left, Ginny's bright red face returned to normal.
She suddenly struck Ron's back, making her brother jump three meters away in shock, staring at her in horror.
"Did you see? The message Yu gave me!" Ginny's brown eyes sparkled as she spoke almost fanatically, "I'm going to paste it all over Gryffindor! In the dormitory, common room, bathroom..."
This was Yu's exclusive message to her!
Neither Fred, George, Ron, nor Harry got one!
How was this any different from signing "my sweetheart"?
It basically meant she had won Yu's love!
"Err..." Now it was Ron's turn to wear a pained expression.
He strongly suspected Voldemort had addled his sister's brain.
...
Jane arrived at the headmaster's office.
Though her initial plan had failed, she had already thought of a new way to withdraw.
—Request withdrawal due to severe psychological trauma from the Chamber incident.
A strong person never complains about their environment; she could always find the most suitable reason for withdrawal from her current situation.
But what she didn't know was that Dumbledore was also well-prepared.
Over the past few days, this venerable headmaster had immersed himself in literature about teenage emotional education, privately ordering dozens of romance novels from Flourish and Blotts.
"Living with a Ghost", "The Domineering Veela's Fierce Love", "Wolf and Horse Romance"...
According to the clerk, these were their best-selling novels, "most suitable for young people" and "rich in educational significance."
Though his intuition told him something was off, as these titles seemed somewhat strange, Dumbledore still followed the recommendation, deciding to thoroughly read and analyze these books to guide his educational approach with Jane.
With a high sense of responsibility and research spirit, he opened the first page of "Wolf and Horse Romance."
What was this?
Late night, bushes, werewolf, centaur, they...
Insert shocked elderly person meme
Dumbledore slowly removed his glasses, feeling his thoughts had been contaminated.
Is this what young people's world is like?
For the first time, he felt Jane's educational issues were incredibly thorny.
Perhaps there was something wrong with this book.
So he opened the second book, "The Domineering Veela's Fierce Love."
After just a glance, he snapped it shut with a "bang."
This centenarian moved with unprecedented speed to the portraits of former headmasters hanging on the wall, turning them to face inward, ignoring the complaints from the elderly men and women now facing the wall.
Dumbledore popped a lemon drop in his mouth, falling into deep contemplation.
This was all too much for him.
Though tempted to destroy these books immediately, his urgency to resolve the child's educational issues made him grit his teeth and read them all.
He ended up reading over ten books in one sitting.
His final conclusion: these romantic affairs were merely childish games.
Not as sophisticated as Jane.
Certainly not as sophisticated as himself.
But before he could hide this pile of books, Jane's voice came from outside the headmaster's office.
