IAN POV
SEVEN YEARS AGO
I fell to my knees, the rain pouring continuously on me in front of Emma's giant mansion.
I can't tell the hours I have been kneeling under the rain. But I didn't care, I only wanted to see the love of my life walk out of that mansion and tell me whatever she had said the previous day was a lie.
I was still mulling over my broken heart, my wolf purring sadly continuously at the rejection of our mate.
Just then the door opened and I felt the little heartbreak in my heart shut down immediately, a little hope coming to life as I looked up to see Emma standing gracefully, her eyes shone brightly.
Emma Watson is one of the most powerful werewolves in the pack and earns a lot of respect in the pack. She keeps making her father get more high positions and everyone envies him so much.
The guards covered her with an umbrella as she walked forward. I stood from the ground rushing toward Emma and embracing her tightly.
Immediately guard surrounded me, I understood this part. She is a well-respected werewolf of the Moonstone Pack, her father is the gamma of the pack while I am nothing compared to their position in the pack.
Just a weak wolf who was found by my middle-class parents in the middle of the forest. They pitied me as a baby and brought me to the pack.
My wolf might be weak but it could sense its mate the moment she was born.
I made sure to always be close to her as she grew up, she was also the type that could be caged in by her father. She loves the smell of the ocean, she loves playing alone in the woods.
I used the opportunity to become close to her even though everyone in the pack believed I was nothing and didn't deserve to be close to high-ranking officials in the pack.
Emma never cared, she became close to me to the extent of us doing everything together till she turned eighteen.
I was her first in everything and planned to reveal that I was her mate since she still didn't feel the bond. Only for her to announce the sad news telling me to go our separate ways.
"Get off her!" The guards yelled as they pulled me away from her roughly pushing me to the ground ready to attack me but Emma ordered them to stop.
I looked up, my wolf whimpering painfully. "Emma..." I groaned, and she sighed. The rain slowed to a drizzle.
"Why are you here tonight?" she asked as if she didn't know.
"Emma, what's wrong with you?" I asked, as I forced myself up, and the guards stood firm.
"Leave!" Emma commanded the guards, and they turned to her. "I will settle this alone. I don't need your interference, so leave."
The guards hesitated and she growled at them, without a word they all left not wanting to get on her bad side.
I felt a glimmer of hope as I approached Emma, hands outstretched, and I grasped her shoulder.
"Emma, I know your parents don't approve of me, but I promise to win them over. I will strive to give you the life you deserve..."
A stinging slap silenced me. I gazed at Emma, taken aback by her fierce expression.
"Get this straight," she warned, "I only chose you as my first because you saved me countless times. I repaid your kindness, that's all." she let out left speechless.
"Emma... we are in love, remember? You don't owe me any debt. You are my mate."
Another slap struck me, coinciding with a thunderclap from the sky.
"Emma!" I called out, shaking my head, still refusing to acknowledge the slap. "This is a joke, right?"
"I, Emma Watson, daughter of the gamma of Moonstone Pack, reject you, Ion Knight!" she declared and a searing pain hit my chest, and I stumbled back.
"I never loved you," she continued. "I only enjoyed the attention. Being with you made Xander jealous, and he finally fell for me." Those words felt more like a thousand slaps to my face than the real slaps she gave me.
"I would rather be the Luna of this pack than mate to a worthless being like you," she added.
The pain overwhelmed me, and I fell to my knees. (Xander, the new Alpha of Moonstone Pack, was the reason Emma was leaving us) For the first time, my wolf let out a long sentence and the pain in his heart was unbearable.
"The next time you call me your mate or come near me again, it will be the last time you see daylight."
PRESENT
As I shut the door of my office I took a step forward trying to control myself from the sweet scent of my mate.
(She's here, finally! She came to us by herself!) Kane, my wolf exclaimed excitedly, already forgetting the pain she put us through in the past.
He had anticipated meeting his mate again, after seven years, no matter how she broke our hearts.
"Kane, she… still doesn't want us, she is pretending to know us.." I reminded him and his excitement quickly reduced.
"I also didn't feel any wolf power in her, the Emma I once knew is so powerful, she has a deadly aura in her that made her stand out in the crowd. But…"
I stopped on my track as that painful gaze flashed through my head, the look she gave me in the office when she slapped my hands off. It looked like she was afraid, she was terrified of me.
"Or do you think we are mistaken?" I asked again as my eyes traced down to the door.
(She looks the same, but everything about her is so different,) Kane commented and I sighed, finding my way out of the company.
"Theo!" I mindlinked and in a few minutes, he was standing beside me. He is my gamma and also messenger, he is a hybrid mixed with the blood of a vampire and Werewolf.
"Find out everything about the lady in my office, her parents, her life, and every single detail."
"On it, Alpha!" He let out and sped through the light. I snapped my neck again with my eyes shut.
Emma's hurtful words flash back in my head, as I brush it off.
(You are not staying there forever with her, we have a meeting with the Nightlife pack.)
I mindlink Blake walking out of the company already irritated at the fact that he cares about Emma.
