"Idiots! Bow to your king!" Bert bellowed to them which snapped them out of their daze, causing them to be wide-eyed and crouch to the ground.
"Long live the king! Long live King Luther!" They bowed respectively, chanting those words until Luther told them to stop.
"I came today not to discipline any of you but to train alongside you and offer some encouraging words, so please don't fear."
Most of them glanced at each other, surprised.
Although they were new and still receiving training, they still haven't heard of any king who does train alongside with guards, especially freshmen like them.
"I'd like to ask a significant question before I commence. Why did you all choose to become a guard? Because you desired to? Or perhaps you were forced to? Or you just felt like you had to?"
The whole place went quite silent.
The new guards were stunned with the question and kept looking around to see who dare to answer first.
