A layer of red screen veils my sight as I feel the blunt sting on my eyelids. With a deep frown on my eyebrows I open my eyes tardily. When I squint into the bright light, I find myself waking up facing the window above the couch.
It is morning, isn't it? It has been long since I last woke up in front of a window. I have forgotten how nice and cosy it feels to let the morning sun warm your face in the cold seasons.
However, the heat that warms me does feel a little different from what I felt last night. Meanwhile, the couch somehow feels wider compared to last night, or perhaps less crowded now…
For an instant, the idea that just came to me turns me sober——I blink my eyes trying to take a clearer look in front of me, yet I find my side empty… It is not supposed to be empty, is it? Where is he? Did he leave? No… He must be still in the chamber, because I can still feel the burning sensation in my lower abdomen…
