While exhilaration deluges, it takes away my ability to respond to Oliver's invitation immediately, that it puts Oliver in unease, "I hope it didn't sound too abrupt…" in order to conceal his nervousness he scratches his nape as he suggests, "We can always pick another time…"
As I realise that I almost missed out the opportunity to go to a theatre with Oliver, I selfishly edge in before he finishes his sentence, "Of course I want to…" I mean, "Yes, Oliver, I would love to go to a movie with you tonight."
There, by the moment I voice out my will, I see a light break upon Oliver's face, "Great." putting up a radiant smile Oliver says, "I will see you tonight then."
When I hear him, I can't seem to keep my smile away too. It has been long since the last time I felt this enlivened, awaited by an event I look forward to happening at the end of the day when it has only begun.
