Lidia sweated bullets.
She didn't move, didn't blink—just stared at Elisse with the best 'I have no idea what you're talking about' expression she could muster.
Which, to be honest, wasn't very good.
Mostly because she was visibly sweating and avoiding eye contact like a criminal caught red-handed.
"I… don't know what you mean," she tried.
Elisse's eyes narrowed.
Lidia swallowed.
Damn it. She was so screwed.
"Really?" Elisse said slowly, stepping closer.
Lidia instinctively stepped back. "Y-yeah. Really."
"Then why are you sweating?"
"I'm not sweating."
"You're drenched."
"No, I'm—" Lidia paused and wiped a hand over her forehead. Oh. Shit.
She was, in fact, very drenched.
"You're lying."
Lidia forced herself to blink innocently. "What? Me? Lying? That's crazy! I—I just changed a little, you know? Character development! Happens all the time!"
Elisse's face did not move a single muscle. "Fine. Then tell me this."
Lidia visible tensed.
