"Hi… I mean; How are you?" James asked as soon as he entered after Jenny opened the door with a smile.
"Umm… I'm good." She stood there expecting some more words from it. But, he just left without uttering anything. She sighed and closed the door before he saw him disappearing inside his room.
"Adrian… Come here; I want you to apologize to him when he comes out, okay?" She explained to him clearly, pointing to the direction of the room after which she left to prepare lunch for them.
The little boy stood there before the room while he glanced every now and then at her sister who was in the kitchen. A few minutes later, the door creaked open, and Adrian looked up with wide, nervous eyes.
"I'm sorry sir; I was hungry. That's why I ate the cookies." Adrian said, even pointing at the jar over the table. A pang of sorrow pierced his chest as he remembered the ordeal Adrian had been through. He remembered how he somehow managed to save him from Ambrose's clutches.
