It was a cool evening my father sat outside cleaning his gun my mother was sweeping me and my brother was having a happy moment playing with our toy gun made of wood then I went to meet him and ask him when I will fight by his side he then smiled back to me and said it is a matter of time and blunk his eye which was a sign for me to continue playing.
My mother looked at him and said"abdul wajid because that's his name when will this war end is it until when our children also get involved in this war he smiled to her and said "yasmin it will soon be over it is just a matter of time " she replied back with tears in her eye "when did u want our kids to have a good life?" My father shook his head and stood up and left with his men

The night came we were inside having a delicious meal which happen to be our dad favourite my mum prepare this meal once in a blue moon because it is very expensive and it is very hard to get cause we live in the forest of mindano. My brother saăd love eating with his left hand my mum having tried all her best to curb the habit but all effort were futile during to me my brother said "hakeem I would protect you even if it is with my life" and I replied "me too " he rubbed my head and we both smiled . Our mom entered and asked us to sleep we told our mom we want to stay by our dad side. She said our dad is also asleep then we said we want to watch over the building she then smiled to us and said "everything has its own time that it is not a matter of rush ."the saăd asked"then who is going to watch over it then?" She replied that the men will do then we went to bed.

I look at my children and I smiled I wish we could give them a better life but we have to finish what we have started and I pray they end their life well any time I go to the market to buy some food stuff I also wished my children were living such a good life it is always paining me to the heart but my husband is never ready to stop the war .

Booom!(gun firing going on) every body got up except we[me and my brother] cause we were fast asleep my mom rush to our room with a small pistol gun she shouted HAKEEM !!!!!SĂAD!!!!!we quickly woke up she ran toward us using her hijab to cover me and my brother.she was ushering us to move but we were reluctant to follow her we were crying and yelling " we want to fight with daddy we want to stay by his side!!!she yelled back at us saying "I can't loose my husband and my son at the same Time both of you are the only kids I have she sobbed "saăd replied"I'll protect you and hakeem he also sobbed "we followed her she led us protecting us from the bullet we closed our ears because of the sound of the gun while we were trying to escape I saw my dad then I yelled moving towards him with my palm close to my ear DAD!!!!before my mum could look back I have crossed the Rubicon my mum and my brother yelled" hakeem come back !!!!but all I keep saying was "dad!!!!"my dad and my brother couldn't help but to yell"hakeem come back!!!"as I saw my dad was down I was still moving towards his direction unaware of an un coming missle as I was almost close to his direction when the bomb came in then I was down and lost consciousness .

At this moment I was so emotional seeing the dead body of my last son and my husband I wanted to run towards their direction but my son saãd dragged me back we managed to escape to hills with my son I cried bitterly over the two loses but my son said to me sobbing "mom don't worry I will avenge the death of hakeem and dad " I was still sobbing and yelling their name hakeem! wajid!my son embraced me the we continued to move

Few days later
I opened my eye I saw my self on a bed different from the one we use in our house then I said in a low tone mom ,dad, saãd I couldn't shout because I have no strength then I saw two men entered the hospital with a man who was wearing white with a nose mask which seems to be the doctor the memories of my mom flashed through my memory

It was a sunny afternoon,my mum was drying our cloth then me and my brother were playing then my brother said "i will like to be a soldier in the future so that i can protect the family what about u hakeem?"
"I will like to be a doctor I replied "
He said "do you know who a doctor is ?do you know may be they are a bad person?or have you seen them before?
"No but when dad was sick mum asked him to go see the doctor" I replied my mum intervened shesaid to my senior brother
"Sãad don't be too naive.I know you love your brother and dont want him to be in danger. My dear son doctor are not bad people as soldier protect lives they also protect life and save life of a dying person "she answered then I asked her their place of work?
"They work in the hospital she replied "my brother asked how does the hospital look like
"A hospital is a building where a lot of doctor who are always wearing a white coat and a nose mask treating sick people she replied with a smile " then my brother smiled back at me .

I was already lost in my memory when I was tapped by one of the men he said hi then I replied where is my mummy and my brother? They looked at each other and he replied "mummy and daddy is not around but we are here to take care of you " Some minutes later I was discharged from the hospital I was taken home by one of them

My family are already expecting me because I have been out to serve my country as a soldier but I wasn't coming home empty handed I was coming with good and bad news and also gift the good news is about my promotion and the bad news is about the child I'm taking home I don't know she will feeland what she will think because I already had a son at home benson.
In no time I arrived at my house my wife came to hug me then we k**** then she help me with my baggage then I went back to the car to bring the boy from my car assuring him everything will be fine. When I my wife saw the kid she was surprised and couldn't hide her emotions her face was filled with question before she could utter a word I moved her to our room and explained how the boy is she felt pity for the poor boy but didn't agree to his accommodation I pleaded but she didn't reply and hissed and mr scott Introduced hakeem to his son but his son wasn't happy about it then i moved to him and asked him for his name and age hesaid his name is hakeem and he is six years of age which means he his two year younger than my son I looked at my wife and she looked away .I said to him from now on we'll be calling you alex he nodded on response
