The marble hall seemed hostile, it's calmness and serenity gone.
I felt relieved that I was flying away from there.
My mind was mostly blank as we drifted through the starry space. I wanted to initiate conversation with those who sat next to me but I could not bring myself to talk. I was binded by some force.
I looked out of the window. There was a large portal opening up to some beautiful land. We entered it and I felt a surge of hopefulness in me.
It was, I think, Heaven. But it was crowded. There were many small buildings in which people who didn't quite look like humans (they had wings and were a little short than most of us) bustled about in a busy manner.
My carriage rode down to a big building, simple and not even as magnificent as the hall we had been in before.
When my ride touched down on the paved road, near the stairs, the carriage door opened. Me and my companions involuntarily walked out.
"It's happy to see you all here" I was startled and I looked to see the same angel/ fairy standing before us next to the entrance of the building.
"Blue clad ones, you deserve fairness and justice on your part. Do not worry, your rebirth will prove very useful for your betterment and revenge for those who inflicted upon you an untimely death"
Her eyes shone when she said untimely death. And I despite not knowing what the words meant exactly, understood.
We were led into the building and inside stood a simple orb. It was pale white and sat on a marble stand in a hall with low ceiling.
She told us to stand in 2 rows, and we randomly stood like she told us to. Then she took the orb. She said something in an ancient language and the orb glowed. Then the hall turned misty and the ceiling changed, it was a constellation. We all gazed up. When we looked down, she was holding a staff with the orb on top of it.
She then told the people of the first row to come forward. She said,"you all shall be born as females and will remain blessed for the rest of your lives to grow and live in a good family and earn a good living." She waved her staff, and the people turned into small balls of light and drifted to the constellations above.
Then my row came forward. Till then my mind had been occupied with seeing the events, but I came back into my present situation. I realized I was going to be born as a male. But then something else came to my my mind and I spoke aloud, "please, let me avenge them"
The angel looked shocked, " how do you still remember? you should forget."
"But you promised us, we would avenge our untimely deaths."
She smiled," child, this is not Heaven"
"But-but how?"
"You never wondered why the rest of your kin did not appear with you"
She waved her staff and I was gone.
