In the previous chapter: Gojo and Kaito took their feud to the next level after Shiro's soul was destroyed. Kaito, now in full control of his body, unleashed Blue Shadow, a special-grade curse with the ability to manipulate darkness. The creature managed to injure Gojo, but he activated his domain to eliminate it. However, in doing so, he discovered that Kaito's body was only an avatar, while his true self resided in a ring.
When Kaito merged his essence with that body, he emerged with a new appearance and overwhelming power. The cursed energy released was so intense that even the curses of all Japan felt fear. Gojo, determined not to be outdone, transformed his body into a living weapon using his cursed energy. With both at their full power, the clash between the two began to break the laws of reality itself.
At the moment
Gojo sighed and began to move his body, stretching calmly, as if he were relaxed. Then he opened his arms.
At that instant, a dark blue aura emerged from his body, expanding like a dense mist around him, enveloping his entire body. Seconds later, a second, red aura began to emerge, enveloping him in an even more intense energy.
The ground beneath him began to shake, crack... and finally break.
Kaito frowned, taking a defensive stance. But then, a brutal gust of wind shot out from Gojo in all directions, violently pushing the air forward, causing Kaito's hair to whip around wildly.
At that moment, the ground beneath Gojo's feet erupted, and his figure was left floating, suspended in the air by the sheer pressure of his energy.
The two auras, blue and red, began to merge. The result was a single, deep purple energy, thick and powerful, that surrounded him like a constantly moving storm. Everything around him began to collapse, slowly shattering under its pressure.
Gojo inhaled deeply, then exhaled sharply, as his energy continued to grow uncontrollably.
He fixed his gaze on Kaito and smiled with amusement.
He took a step forward. The ground beneath him turned to dust. He took another step, and the same thing happened.
Gojo seemed to walk on air itself, sustained only by the purple energy that kept emanating from his body.
Kaito inhaled deeply and spoke:
—So you did the same thing as with those red and blue spheres... but you applied it to your body.
Gojo didn't respond. He just looked at him in amusement, as a drop of blood trickled down his nose. However, that drop was immediately disintegrated by the pressure of his aura.
Kaito got ready.
At that instant, Gojo disappeared and appeared beside him, destroying everything around him with the impact of his arrival. He threw a direct punch, and Kaito blocked it with his katana, but he was still sent flying through the air. He stabilized himself in the air and landed on his feet.
Wasting no time, Kaito swung his katana and slashed straight at Gojo. The slash landed, but before it could reach him, it was destroyed in midair, causing a deafening crash:
—BOOM!
Everything behind Gojo was swept away by the impact wave.
Kaito opened his eyes slightly, surprised.
"The cut was destroyed before I arrived... I see."
His eyes shone with determination.
—Then it's time to start.
His body was filled with bright red lines. At the same time, his sword was covered with the same patterns.
Gojo, still smiling, adopted a fighting stance. At that instant, purple rays began to emanate from his body like live sparks.
They both disappeared at the same time.
In milliseconds, they had clashed dozens of times across the battlefield. Gojo's fists collided with Kaito's katana. Purple lightning rumbled like thunder in every direction.
The portals increased their speed, relentlessly launching more chains. At the same time, Gojo's red spheres multiplied uncontrollably, appearing one after another, faster than ever. In a moment, they began ascending into the sky, pursued by both of their techniques, colliding mid-air.
The entire sky above them seemed to be covered in golden lines, the result of the chains, intertwined with red and blue flashes from Gojo's spheres. The explosions between these attacks lit up the sky like cursed fireworks, blocking and countering each other's techniques in a devastating aerial battle.
From Kaito's body, the red lines running across his skin released scarlet rays that surged like lightning, slicing through the sky with fury. The clouds, tinged with red and purple, churned violently, shaken by the unleashed power.
Each clash could be heard for miles around. From the city, people looking toward the battlefield could see the sky turning red, purple, and blue, pierced by lightning colliding with each other. The earth trembled, and many of the citizens, unable to understand what was happening, could only stare in fear at the apocalyptic spectacle.
Meanwhile, the sorcerers watching from afar remained wide-eyed, paralyzed. Beads of sweat ran down their faces and backs. The cursed energy was overwhelming. They could only stare… stare and tremble at the colors and explosions that lit up the sky.
On a nearby mountain, Gojo's three students were on their knees, completely overwhelmed by the pressure. The cursed energy was crushing them.
Nobara gritted her teeth.
—Shit… this is too dangerous. We have to leave now.
Megumi nodded silently, and so did Itadori, breathing heavily. They stood up as best they could and started walking away, heading down the mountain, staggering but determined.
While all this was happening, inside Yuji , Sukuna watched with a wide smile of amusement. His face was tense with emotion.
"This fight… is quite interesting. It even makes me want to go out and join them," he said, his voice eager. "It excites me just imagining it. Hahahaha ! Don't you think so, brat?"
Yuji kept running, but a small mouth appeared on his cheek… Sukuna's, laughing with amusement. He looked like an excited spectator, unable to contain his urge to get involved.
Meanwhile, elsewhere, the special curses watched the sky in complete silence. Their faces were serious and tense.
Mahito was the only one who spoke:
—This is serious… The cursed energy they're releasing is immense. How could anyone possibly handle that? Those two… they're monsters.
The others said nothing. They just watched in silence as the cursed energy continued to rise, with no signs of stopping.
In an instant, Gojo and Kaito descended from the sky, colliding once again with all their power. The impact caused a brutal thunderous sound:
—BOOO ...
The nearby mountains were completely destroyed, reduced to dust and rocks as red and purple lightning continued to fall from the sky like an apocalyptic storm.
The fight resumed with even more ferocity. Both moved at impossible speeds, exchanging blows that shook the air.
As they fought, Kaito thought:
"He's in a trance… he doesn't hear anything, he doesn't think, he's just fighting. He's stabilized his brain solely for the purpose of defeating me."
"After all the damage he suffered… he ended up like this. But it wasn't an accident. He did it on purpose. He forced himself into that state to push himself beyond his own limits."
Kaito narrowed his eyes for a moment, then opened them tightly.
—Then I'll go all out.
The fight erupted again with even greater violence. Every blow, every clash, was a thunderous roar. The air vibrated, the ground cracked, and the distant mountains continued to be leveled by the pressure of the unleashed power.
But something else was happening.
Satoru's power continued to grow. His eyes shone with an overwhelming, almost unnatural intensity.
In one of the direct impacts between the two, a black beam erupted from the point of collision, spreading across the field like a crack in reality.
—BOOM!
It was a Black Flash.
A second crash. Another black explosion, followed by a shockwave that ripped through the air around them.
—BOOM!
Third blow. Space itself distorted for an instant. Everything remained in a brief pause, frozen in the midst of destruction, while the thunderous roar:
—BOOM!
The rocks rose, floating as if gravity had disappeared. Three consecutive Black Flashes.
The most unstable, rarest, and deadliest technique in close combat was being harnessed by Gojo. The pressure on the field reached its peak. It was no longer just a battle… It was a force that was rewriting the laws of the environment.
After the three clashes, the two separated, sliding along the ground as their energies stabilized. For a few seconds, neither of them moved. Gojo was the first to stop, hovering over the crater he'd created beneath his feet. His eyes shone with excitement as he stared at Kaito. His aura began to change: it tinged with white mixed with purple, and so did his eyes.
"That was pretty amazing, wasn't it?" Gojo said, smoothing his hair with one hand.
Kaito looked at him and replied:
—You regained consciousness.
Then he thought, "Those were three blows… I feel refreshed too. As if my energy has returned."
Gojo kept his gaze fixed on Kaito. His eyes, now completely white, radiated power. The white aura surrounding him was different… purer, more intense.
"Thanks to those Black Flashes, I was able to recover," Gojo said with a light laugh. "I didn't know it was going to work... but it seems it did! Hahahahaha . "
Kaito looked at him coldly.
—So you're not in your right mind yet… hmm .
Gojo looked down, inspecting his body without paying attention to anything else. Then he spoke with a mixture of astonishment and amusement:
—This is new. I feel stronger… my body is responding better. Also, this power… it's incredible. You forced my ritual to evolve. To a new level. One I've never reached before. Hahaha… But it's still not enough.
His aura changed completely. The purple disappeared and was replaced by a pure white glow. Gojo slowly descended until he touched the ground, no longer floating. He took a few steps forward, leaving the crater he had formed, and stood at attention in front of Kaito, looking down at him.
She looked at him with determination and a confident smile.
—So let's continue... but first, I'm going to try out this new thing I have.
Kaito just braced himself. Gojo pointed his finger at him, and Kaito, on pure instinct, moved his body slightly. But it was too late.
At that moment, a massive hole ripped through her shoulder and part of her chest. She fell to the ground along with her severed arm. Kaito opened his eyes in surprise as blood gushed out violently.
Gojo smiled in amusement… and then burst out laughing.
—Hahaha ! How incredible! But anyway... it's time to move on. Let's see what else I have .
Kaito, his face serious, placed his hand on his wounded chest. Then he spoke firmly:
-Restore.
His arm regenerated instantly, along with the armor covering it. As if nothing had happened. Then he looked up at Gojo, thoughtful.
"That was... hmm ... I see. I can see it now. These eyes show it clearly to me."
"It was time that hit me, not space as before. Things have reversed."
Gojo aimed at Kaito again, ready to fire again. But at that instant, several golden chains descended from the sky, aiming directly at Gojo.
However, just before impact, everything stopped.
Gojo disappeared and appeared elsewhere, on the side of the crater, as the chains hit the ground, causing a loud bang that shook the entire area.
Gojo looked at the chains with a smile.
—That was dangerous... hahaha. But it doesn't matter.
Kaito sighed, and the chains began to slowly fade into golden dust.
"So… when he fought me before, he used Void and Space, with a hint of time. But now… his control of time is deeper than within the Void."
"That white aura… it's special. It's not in space, but in the nothingness of time. That attack… it stopped time just before it hit me. It was like a sphere distorting the flow of time, something that tears away or expels whatever it touches. I couldn't quite see it, but I felt it. It's dangerous."
"It passed through my body without me being able to react. I moved on reflex... and still, it hurt."
Gojo, watching the chains begin to fade away, spoke in a carefree tone:
"You take them off? It's fine. After all, I don't think a Blue or a Red can do any damage." He gave a light laugh. "Hahaha..."
The spheres in the sky also began to slowly fade away, as if the battlefield was preparing for the next big move.
Gojo calmly stretched his body, as if he were just getting started. Then he began to hop around in place, preparing to return to combat. His white aura continued to increase, vibrating with force, while his eyes shone with even more power.
In an instant, he was gone.
He appeared next to Kaito, and before he could react, he'd already taken several blows to the body. The force of the impact made him spit blood, while everything behind him was destroyed by the wave of the attack.
—BOOM!
Kaito clenched his jaw and threw a punch straight at Gojo's face, but he disappeared again. In the blink of an eye, he reappeared at another location and returned a punch straight to Gojo's face, knocking him back.
When Kaito tried to regain his balance, Gojo was already far away, pointing at him with his finger.
Kaito opened his eyes, alert, and in that instant, waves of golden light appeared in the sky. From them descended enormous swords, which plunged between him and Gojo, forming a solid barricade of cursed steel.
But suddenly, a gap appeared in each of those swords… all pointing in the same direction.
Kaito staggered back, falling to one knee. Blood began to ooze from his abdomen, where a neat hole now ran through his body.
Gojo started laughing with amusement.
—Looks like I'll be the winner. Thanks for that.
Kaito held his wound and said firmly:
-Restore.
But the wound didn't close. He frowned, his jaw clenched tightly, as his entire body began to glow from the red lines running through it. Sparks flew from his skin, and little by little, the wound began to slowly regenerate, until it closed completely. Even the armor over the area was restored.
Kaito stood up. The swords began to disintegrate, turning into golden dust that vanished in the wind.
Then he raised his hand to the side.
The katana lying on the ground, still held by his lost arm, flew toward him. He grasped it firmly, looked briefly at the weapon… and then let it go. His fallen arm began to burn, transforming into fire before completely consuming itself into ash. The katana also disintegrated into golden particles.
Gojo watched him silently, curiously.
Kaito looked at him seriously.
"I didn't think you'd force me to go any further... I thought I could defeat you with this power alone. But that wasn't the case. Your control over time grows stronger every second. And that... that's problematic."
Gojo smiled widely, looking confident.
"I don't care about that. But it's about time you died, damn God. Thanks to you... I got stronger." He let out a stifled laugh. "Hahaha... But hey, I'll remember you."
Kaito spoke while looking at Gojo firmly.
"I thought no one was worthy of its power… In the past, I could only use it like a common sword. Just a few attacks, without unleashing its full potential. My body couldn't withstand its power… but now I wonder: how far can I push it?"
Gojo watched him silently, his expression almost blank, as if his mind were in a trance. His eyes, fixed on Kaito, reflected a mixture of madness and fascination.
Kaito stretched out his hand. A golden ripple appeared in his palm, vibrating strongly. Then, the ripple disappeared… and instead, he held something in his hand. It wasn't a sword, at least not like the others.
It was a hilt. But instead of a blade, it had an ornate, strange, and ancient key.
He held it firmly, moved his arm to the side, pointing the key toward the sky. Then he turned it.
Kaito turned the key with precision, as if opening a hidden lock between dimensions.
From above, lines of luminous energy began to descend. They didn't come from the clouds or the sun; they simply appeared, emerging from nowhere. They spread out, forming an intricate web that connected heaven and earth, as if weaving space itself.
Kaito gazed calmly at that web of light. His gaze was filled with unwavering determination. Then, in a firm and solemn voice, he spoke:
—Wake up, Ea … the sword that divides heaven and earth.
The lines of light resonated with each other, vibrating as if they shared a common pulse. Little by little, they began to gather at a single point: Kaito's hand. There, the energy condensed and took shape, materializing into a sword that vibrated with immense power.
Kaito looked at her out of the corner of his eye, a slight smile on his lips, and said in a low voice:
—It's been a long time… Okay . It's time to fight with all my might. And I apologize… for misusing you last time.
The sword responded with a faint glow, soft but firm, as if it understood his words. Kaito smiled, nodded respectfully, and murmured:
—I understand… this time, your opponent is worthy of you.
Gojo, observing the sword, opened his eyes wide. The reality around him began to distort slightly. He couldn't feel anything coming from that weapon . And he thought:
"What is that...? I can't see it. It's very different from when I perceived the chains. This... what the hell is this thing?"
Kaito, noticing Gojo's expression, spoke calmly:
—Don't even try. You won't be able to visualize it. No one can.
Gojo just smiled with a mixture of excitement and madness.
—So… what are you waiting for…?
From a distance, those descending the mountain toward the city were about to arrive. The explosions heard behind them suddenly stopped.
Itadori turned around and said:
—Is it over already?
Elsewhere, with the Gojo students, they were descending a nearly destroyed mountainside, nearing the city. The ground around them was broken, filled with cracks, dust, and debris.
Itadori looked back again, frowning.
—The explosions stopped… did it really end?
Megumi looked at him sideways and replied calmly:
—No. It's not over yet. But their cursed energy… both of them have intensified enormously. Even Satoru Gojo's… it's much stronger now.
Itadori closed his eyes for a second, concentrating. Then he opened them firmly.
—Yes… I feel it now. This energy is different.
"That's right," Megumi said. "That's why it became so difficult to perceive. I don't know the exact reason… but something changed."
Nobara intervened, looking up at the sky:
—Those guys… they're monsters. You can't even call them human anymore. They're capable of destroying entire mountains… even completely erasing a place. They're on a totally different level than the rest.
Megumi sighed and spoke seriously:
—Whatever it is… let's get to the city. Let's meet up with Ijichi-san and go to the sorcery school. Honestly… I don't want to imagine what would happen if their fight got any closer to the city.
Nobara and Itadori nodded silently, and the three continued on their way.
On the battlefield, Kaito and Gojo looked at each other seriously, in complete silence, both sizing each other up as they waited for the next move.
Kaito spoke firmly:
—Annihilate him, Ea .
At that instant, the sword's cylinders began to move. They rotated slowly at first, aligning themselves one by one, and an energy in the form of light began to flow, enveloping the blade. The light spiraled, spreading out further and further as the cylinders increased their speed.
The roar of energy was deafening. Then, suddenly, a powerful wave of light shot out from the sword. Beams of light shot out in all directions, destroying everything in their path.
Gojo opened his eyes in surprise just before taking a direct hit. He couldn't dodge it.
Red lines of light shot into the sky as everything around them was leveled. The earth shook violently, and the final rumble shook the world:
—BOOO ...
The impact destroyed everything around it. The clouds in the sky violently scattered, split by the power of the attack.
The battlefield… had been almost completely erased.
From the city, people felt a colossal wind reach them. It was a heavy gust, charged with energy. The air vibrated, as if the sky itself had been ripped open.
In the distance, Gojo's students were barely able to stay on their feet. They covered themselves with their forearms to protect themselves from the wind as they watched in awe what was happening. But there was something else… something they couldn't explain. They felt fear. A deep fear, without understanding why, as if something on the battlefield had been unleashed beyond the human realm.
Meanwhile, on the battlefield, rocks were levitating in all directions. Gravity was broken. The distortion in the surroundings was even greater than before.
Kaito shifted his stance. He slowly lowered his sword and began walking in a single direction. Each step echoed with the clang of his armor. The wind, still thick with the released energy, stirred his long white hair, and the black and gold fabric of his armor billowed behind him. His presence… was that of a god walking among ruins. And with every second, his pressure increased.
From the red marks on his body, lightning bolts of the same color began to shoot out, like live thunder, coursing through him. His aura continued to grow.
Then, among the rubble, in the direction Kaito was heading, a pile of rocks began to move.
Gojo emerged from them, breathing heavily. Blood trickled down his face, from his forehead, falling in heavy drops to the ground.
But in the next moment, steam came out of his body.
His wounds began to close, regenerating rapidly…
Kaito stopped and looked directly at Gojo, who stared back without blinking.
"You see, Ea ?" Kaito said calmly. "He can withstand a portion of your power… We can move on."
The sword vibrated strongly in his hand, responding as if it understood. Kaito inhaled deeply, closed his eyes for a moment, and then declared firmly:
—Creation. Strengthening. Restoration. Fusion.
A powerful aura burst from his body, a deep black color with golden flashes and red rays crossing his form like living veins of energy.
The markings on his skin intensified, glowing violently, while his armor began to emit an increasingly intense light.
Ea sword was imbued with the same aura, releasing a dense, glowing smoke that slowly rose, just like Kaito's body, as if both were beginning to merge into a single core of power.
Kaito's deep red eyes glowed with new life, filled with the same energy that surrounded him.
Gojo just smiled. His white aura began to expand more strongly, enveloping him like a living flame. He closed his fists, and spheres of white energy appeared above them, covering them like rising fire, burning with pure intensity.
He clenched his jaw, and white stripes and lines began to appear on his body, running across his skin as if his own cursed ritual were etched into his flesh.
Kaito, looking at him, thought:
"So he marked his cursed ritual on his skin… he plans to counteract Ea 's power directly with his body."
They both looked at each other seriously.
The air thickened. Everything fell silent. The world… held its breath.
At that instant, Gojo disappeared. He appeared right next to Kaito, tightly grabbing the arm holding Ea , intending to destroy it. But just at that moment, time returned to normal.
The sword spun violently. Kaito swung it straight at Gojo. The blow collided with his fists, but it was useless: the impact completely destroyed Gojo's arm. However, in a single instant… his arm reappeared as if nothing had happened.
Gojo immediately counterattacked, but Kaito blocked it with Ea , causing an even more powerful rumble.
—BUUMM!
Kaito pressed down hard on the sword, and the impact pushed Gojo back, shattering his arm again. But once again, his arm reappeared.
Kaito pointed his sword at him and said firmly:
—Decomposition of Reality.
The cylinders of Ea spun violently. Everything froze for an instant. The ground and sky shattered like glass, and a powerful wind was thrown in all directions.
Gojo began jumping among the floating rocks. Beneath him, there was no longer any land: only emptiness. The sky was ripped open by a dimensional rift that split it in two.
He tried to move through time… but he couldn't. He looked down at Kaito, who was floating on a rock suspended in the air. In the blink of an eye, he disappeared… and reappeared right above Gojo.
Gojo, reacting, increased his time in his body. His speed increased, and he disappeared from the scene. The two of them began moving across the battlefield at such speeds that they could only be perceived as lightning flashing between the suspended rocks.
In the midst of that chaos, Gojo was followed by Kaito. He brought his fingertips together, then his palms, forming a sphere of pure white energy. He aimed it directly at Kaito and launched it.
Kaito stopped. With precision, he launched a thrust with Ea toward the incoming sphere.
The explosion was instantaneous.
—BOOO ...
A white dome of energy appeared at the center of the impact, expanding in all directions, generating an even more powerful wind than the previous one. Everything in its path was pulverized.
But just when it seemed like it was over, the dome exploded from within. Another, even more brutal shockwave was released, shaking the entire earth. From the center, bursts of red light shot out in all directions, causing even greater destruction.
Kaito fell onto one of the floating rocks, panting softly. On another rock farther away, Gojo watched him silently, evaluating his every move.
Kaito thought as he looked at his sword:
Ea sword … doesn't just destroy whatever it touches. It completely disintegrates reality. But the markings on Gojo's body… prevent that from happening. They turn back time to just before the damage is complete. He's improving too fast…"
He smiled slightly. Then he took a step toward the edge of the rock, closed his eyes, and murmured respectfully:
—Katana Shometsuken ...sword that cuts the world. Lend me your skills.
In another dimension—the Gate of Babylon, where thousands of weapons floated in all directions under the light of vertical runes—the black-bladed katana vibrated, and an intense red aura surrounded it. In the distance, Kaito opened his eyes at the sensation. His armor began to emit more red sparks than it already had, glowing with a new level of energy.
Ea sword vibrated violently. Kaito glanced at it and spoke softly:
—Don't worry, it's not that you're not enough… it's just that I can't reach him. And besides, I don't think he'll let himself be reached that easily.
He looked down with a neutral expression.
—It's not right to use you against him… if I can't touch him first. I need to reach him…
Kaito thought to himself: I've never used this. It was never necessary. I can only ask for the abilities of a weapon within my body... or rather, what I'm wearing. But now... now it's necessary.
Gojo and Kaito stared at each other intensely. The tension between them was almost palpable.
Kaito spoke calmly:
"I see I underestimated you. Or rather… I thought you weren't a genius like your predecessor. But you surprised me. You've surpassed him… That attack you created just now, fusing your imagination with the knowledge of this era… it was brilliant."
Gojo laughed softly, without losing the sparkle in his eyes:
— Hahahaha … like I said, I don't care. But thanks to your advice, I found a way.
I merged time in two opposite directions into a single, compressed point in space. That created a contradiction: time wanted to move forward and backward at the same time, while space, already collapsed, became saturated with cursed energy. At some point… there simply wasn't enough room to contain it all.
Kaito narrowed his eyes, processing what he heard.
—And unable to hold it, it collapsed outwards…
Gojo nodded in amusement.
—Exactly. The released time tore through space like a broken capsule. It wasn't a normal explosion... it was the universe trying to expel what couldn't exist inside.
Kaito thought to himself, silently: If I didn't have Ea ... I would have been completely destroyed. That technique is lethal. But Ea ... Ea can destroy reality itself. That's why I resisted.
He took a fighting stance, holding his sword firmly.
—You already showed me what a genius is. I never was one. I suffered too much to achieve what I have. Even when I was human… I could never request a new ability by absorbing energy. I wasn't allowed to.
Gojo watched him silently, not missing a single detail.
Kaito continued, his voice firm:
—My clan follows the path of the sword. Every person born into it has a different skill. So how was it possible to create a universal fighting style for everyone? The answer lies in four basic principles: horizontal slash, vertical slash, diagonal slash, and thrust.
He paused, and the wind stirred his black, gold-edged cloak.
—Each clan user had to create their own style… based solely on those four movements.
Gojo nodded with a slight smile.
—So what I saw earlier was your katana fighting style…
Kaito slowly raised his sword. His aura burned with renewed power.
—This time… I'll show you the full style. Kagyo Sword Style.
Gojo braced himself and assumed a fighting stance. At that instant, Kaito disappeared and appeared right in front of him.
—Sword Technique: Eliminate—he said firmly.
He swung his sword in a horizontal slash, and a sharp wave of red and orange erupted from it, cutting through everything in its path. Gojo reacted instantly, leaping back to dodge it. In the distance, everything the slash touched was destroyed, causing a brutal explosion.
—BOOM! —as everything disintegrated in their wake.
But Kaito didn't stop.
He spun around and swung his sword again, this time upward. Another slash was launched through the air, slicing through floating rocks far away as they pulverized upon contact. Gojo quickly moved through the air, narrowly dodging the attack.
"Are you going to keep running?" Kaito asked without pausing.
Gojo smiled arrogantly.
—Let's see if you can catch me.
Kaito glanced at Gojo and declared:
—Sword Technique: Elimination Wave.
He swung the weapon vigorously. At that instant, a powerful reddish wave shot out from the blade, obliterating everything in its path and causing another massive explosion.
—BOOM!
The shockwave headed straight for Gojo, who opened his eyes in surprise just before being hit.
He was hit squarely. His body was flung out, violently slamming through several floating rocks that disintegrated in its path. The force of the impact dragged him to the edge of the rift in the sky.
Kaito watched from a distance, and the Ea sword reacted and its cylinders began to spin strongly.
The rift responded immediately. Gravity suddenly intensified, beginning to suck in rocks, fragments of debris… and even pulling Gojo toward its core. The pressure was so brutal that the space around him began to collapse, trembling like glass about to shatter.
But at that moment, Gojo spun in the air. He formed a large red sphere in his hand and, without hesitation, threw it directly at the crack. The sphere impacted violently. A massive explosion shook the sky.
—BOOO ...
The shockwave pushed him down with force, causing him to crash into several rocks on his way down, shattering them one by one until he slammed into a large rock at the same level Kaito was standing. The impact was brutal, generating another explosion as intense as the previous one.
—BOOM!
Kaito glanced at him as the Ea sword stopped spinning. Its cylinders slowly came to a stop.
Gojo, for his part, slowly stood up. He stood up completely, without taking his eyes off his opponent.
Kaito turned on his heels, while Gojo watched him with an amused smile.
"Not bad," he commented with a slight smile, "but it's not enough."
He pointed his finger at him.
Kaito reacted instantly, raising his Ea sword to block the attack. It was then that the world turned gray and time seemed to stop.
Kaito opened his eyes in surprise. In front of him, a glowing black sphere collided with the EA sword, pushing it backward with great force and sliding across the rock fragment.
He gritted his teeth. The EA sword vibrated, and its cylinders began to spin at high speed. In the blink of an eye, a burst of pure energy was released from within, scattering in all directions and destroying everything in its path. The black sphere disintegrated, while the space around them shattered and time momentarily collapsed.
In the blink of an eye, everything was back to normal. Kaito glared at Gojo in annoyance, while Gojo smiled at him in amusement and muttered under his breath,
—It worked...
He adopted a fighting stance, and a dark aura began to envelop his fists. But it didn't stop there: the energy rapidly expanded through his arms, merging with his body. It was no longer just an aura… it was Satoru Gojo's entire arms, dyed a deep black and attached to his being, transformed by power. Meanwhile, his signature white aura vibrated with overwhelming intensity, resonating like an ever-expanding force.
Kaito disappeared in an instant and reappeared to the side. With a swift movement, he swung his sword toward Gojo's torso.
Gojo reacted immediately. He moved quickly and blocked the attack with his arm, unleashing an explosion that completely destroyed the nearby rock. They were both suspended in the air, surrounded by a cloud of dust and floating debris.
Kaito was surprised to see the transformation.
"What's that...?" he muttered, trying to push Satoru away.
Gojo looked at him with a disturbing calm and replied:
—It's the same time... Beyond time there is nothing. It's dark. But in the beginning... everything is white. That sword of yours can destroy the beginning and its trajectory... but not what has already been destroyed. Or rather... order no longer exists. And where there is no order... there is nothing.
Kaito gritted his teeth, and in that instant he channeled all his strength into the Ea sword . The blade vibrated with overwhelming intensity.
Gojo tried to move away, protecting himself with his forearms, but it was useless: in a single instant, he received multiple blows and cuts caused by the speed of Kaito's blade. Surprisingly, Gojo was thrown through the air, crashing against the rocks, breaking the limits of the altered gravitational field, and being thrown until he violently collided with a mountain.
—BOOM!
The impact created a gigantic crater, shaking the entire ground. Gojo tried to get up, but at that moment, Kaito swooped down, brandishing his sword in a vertical slash.
Gojo shielded himself with his forearms again, and another explosion shook the mountain.
—BOOM!
The rock structure collapsed completely. Gojo gritted his teeth as the landscape was reduced to rubble and rocks flew in all directions.
Kaito didn't give him a break. He grabbed him by the head and slammed him back into the ground with brutal force.
—BOOM!
Without stopping, he sent it flying back into the gravitational field, crashing it into the few rocks that were still standing.
—BOOM!
Chaos reigned on the battlefield.
Gojo steadied himself in the air and looked up at Kaito, who was watching him from a distance.
Kaito took a firm stance with his sword, preparing a thrust, and pointed it directly at him.
—Sword Technique: Final Point Thrust—he declared in a firm voice.
He launched the attack.
At that instant, Gojo's eyes widened in surprise. Without a second thought, he disappeared in the blink of an eye and reappeared at another point in the gravitational field.
Then, a crash was heard:
—BOOM!
Everything in its straight line was completely pierced. The thrust tore through the gravitational field without resistance, obliterating floating rocks and suspended fragments. Space in its path was torn open as if it had never existed.
A large area was left empty. A corridor of absolute destruction extended to the mountains in the background, which now had a huge hole in their center, as if a line of existence had been erased.
The whole world trembled and the people of the city adjusted and began to run for cover in fear.
Gojo looked at the mountains out of the corner of his eye and said, "Now is this series?" and looked at Kaito and thought, "I have to finish it now."
Kaito stared at Gojo and disappeared in a flash, reappearing suspended in the air within the gravitational field.
Gojo did the same, and in the blink of an eye, he appeared near him, throwing a direct punch. Kaito blocked it with his sword, the impact causing a deafening crash.
Gojo didn't wait a second. He threw another blow, but this time Kaito swiftly deflected it with a downward motion under his sword. Gojo intercepted it with his forearm, and at the same time, he launched a kick at Kaito's stomach.
Kaito blocked the kick with his other arm, pushing hard, and they were both thrown backward. In the blink of an eye, they disappeared again, restarting the fight at superhuman speed.
The rays emanating from Gojo's white aura illuminated the gravitational field, while the red flashes from Kaito's body streaked through the air like furious lightning. The two moved across the field, disappearing and reappearing at different points, fighting within a frozen time, on a plane where only they could move.
Spheres of black energy, manipulated by Gojo, collided with the Ea sword , unleashing bursts of power that tore through the time field and returned it to normal, destabilizing the surroundings with each impact. Everything happened at a speed beyond comprehension.
Suddenly, Kaito appeared beneath the crack in the sky, perched on a suspended rock. He assumed a drawing stance, as if his sword were sheathed at his waist, and pointed it downward.
Gojo saw him and, noticing the posture, accelerated to the maximum, trying to catch him before he executed the technique.
Kaito spoke with a firm voice:
—Sword Technique: Perfect Elimination Cut.
At that instant, he drew his sword in a single motion, slashing diagonally. Gojo barely had time to cover himself with his forearms.
"Damn..." he muttered.
Everything below was instantly destroyed, reduced to fragments. The roar was even more devastating than before.
—BOOO ...
The ground, which had already been destroyed, was completely disintegrated. The energy wave expanded in all directions, erasing space as if it had never existed. Multiple slashes scattered like gusts in the air , traveling through the void as the shockwave descended deep into the lower layers of the already devastated ground.
A red glow began to spread beneath the surface, mingled with orange hues, as if hell itself had awakened. Everything in its path disintegrated, scorched by an inconceivable heat, leaving behind a landscape molten with pure energy. The air trembled, distorted by the heat and power that saturated every corner of the battlefield.
Then, everyone trembled.
From the nearby city of Tokyo, the tremors were felt with terrifying force. Buildings shook, glass shattered, and people, sheltering in their homes, could only stare at the sky, hoping it would end.
Kaito slowly shifted his stance, rising into the air as he hovered above the epicenter of the attack. He looked down silently, his sword still charged with power, watching.
Beneath him, there was only a huge hole. A bottomless crater that stretched into darkness. No earth, no rock, no energy. Just emptiness.
Kaito kept his gaze fixed… until his eyes narrowed.
From the center of the crater, something began to emerge.
A white aura continued to emanate strongly, twisting between steam and latent energy. It was Gojo.
His body was mangled. Both arms were gone, and his torso bore multiple deep cuts. His breathing was labored and heavy. But he was still standing.
Kaito spoke with a firm voice:
—You're incredibly resilient... but this is the end.
Gojo slowly raised his head. Steam was pouring from his wounds, as if his entire body were at its limit. But in a single instant, his arms reappeared, regenerating as if time had gone backward.
Kaito watched him closely and murmured:
—How long can you maintain this state? I can see that your energy has run out.
Gojo continued to breathe heavily. Blood trickled from his nose, which he wiped with his thumb before staring at Kaito.
—You haven't even shown your ultimate attack yet. You let me grow, made me stronger. You even gave me some of your knowledge of cursed rituals... What are you after with all this?
Kaito looked at him, and calmly replied:
"It wasn't you who stood in my way, Satoru Gojo. But I suppose you're wondering why I didn't eliminate you at the beginning. The reason is simple. I'm giving you a chance to survive. Maybe… just maybe, it's a whim of mine, to see how far you can push yourself. I want to see the limits of this era's greatest genius, or at least that's what I've understood from what they've said."
Gojo, with a slight smile, replied:
—So I'm just your experiment... I guess I should thank you, but I won't. It bothers me that you use me as a pawn for your entertainment. You made me fight, you pushed me past my own limits... It's like you're controlling me. And that bothers me.
Kaito watched him, his expression calm.
—You can look at it that way, but what I really wanted to see was what would happen if you pushed your cursed ritual to the limits of its splendor, just as I push mine. You, Satoru, forced to reach the peak of your power. This is what you see now.
He opened his arms, pointing to the devastation around him.
—Look at all the destruction we've caused. This is the result. Destroyed mountains, a crater the size of a small town, a massive crack in the sky… I always wondered what would happen if I fought with everything I had. And here's my answer.
Gojo smiled with some disdain, his body still vibrating with the accumulated power.
—I have to admit… It's been a long time since I fought like this. No, I've never fought like this. Pure power, chaos, destruction… My heart has never been so excited. It was fun. But everything that begins… must end.
Kaito smiled back, his eyes shining with determination.
—You're right. I'll remember you, Satoru Gojo, for giving me some fun. I haven't known what fighting for fun was for many, many years… Not since I fought with my brothers. It was really fun.
Kaito slowly moved his hand, firmly gripping the hilt of the Ea sword . The cylinders began to spin vigorously, emitting a mechanical roar that echoed like a cataclysm. Rays of cursed energy in red and gold hues erupted from them, illuminating everything around them with a blinding glow.
A colossal wind erupted from their position, expanding in all directions. It shook the ruins of the gravity field, lifted debris, dissolved floating fragments… and even reached the edges of the nearby city, where the skies briefly darkened. The clouds were violently swept away, spiraling out and leaving a gigantic hole in the sky, as if the world were holding its breath. Even the dimensional rift above expanded further, twisting as if reacting to Ea 's power .
The space around Kaito began to distort, transforming into an alternate universe tinged with dark red. A pure plane of cursed energy overflowed from his body like living flames, spreading violently through the air. His every breath shook the world, and the pressure was such that it seemed the earth trembled from his presence alone.
Kaito raised his sword to the sky, solemn and firm. The cylinders of Ea spun even more vigorously, drawing energy from all directions. At the tip of the weapon, a sphere of pure light formed, golden at its core and surrounded by a red ring that spun frantically, emitting flashes and rays in all directions like an apocalyptic sun.
"One hundred percent," he declared in a deep voice.
At that instant, all of his cursed power was released outward. The pressure soared. The air vibrated. The sky creaked.
Gojo opened his eyes in surprise. His body was pushed down by the magnitude of the aura. Even from the city, sorcerers and curses felt that indescribable weight. Many fell to their knees, unable to stand. The fear that invaded them wasn't rational... it was pure instinct, as if the end of the world were descending upon them.
The sphere continued to grow at the tip of the sword. Its light was so intense that it pierced the cloudy sky like a divine spear. From the city, everyone could see it: a golden and red star shining furiously.
And then, Kaito screamed.
A deep, brutal roar shook the cracked sky. Fragments of the cursed plane shattered like glass, and Kaito's voice echoed like a judgment. The pressure rose even further, causing entire mountains to tremble.
Gojo, who was being violently pushed back by Kaito's aura, gritted his teeth tightly and released his own energy. A burst of white aura expanded from his body in all directions, momentarily dissipating the crushing pressure.
With a slight surge, he disappeared from his position. In the next instant, his figure materialized on the edge of the enormous crater, standing among unstable debris. He raised his head slowly; he was still breathing heavily, but his eyes shone with renewed determination.
He took a breath, and suddenly his heavy breathing stopped completely. He murmured softly:
—Reversion Pact… I sacrifice eight days without the Infinite.
Kaito watched him silently.
Gojo closed his eyes… and then snapped them open. In that instant, another powerful aura erupted from his body, a white expanse that swept everything around him. Wind exploded in all directions. His cursed energy was fully restored, rising into the sky in a dazzling white glow.
Gojo stretched out his arms as the ground shook beneath his feet. Between his hands, an empty space appeared, an energy chamber where two spheres began to materialize: one completely white, the other as black as the abyss.
He smiled.
Both spheres began to spin at high speed, orbiting each other, trying to merge. Gojo murmured in a deep tone, almost as if reciting a universal law:
—Time flows endlessly… it begins in nothingness, and ends in the dark void. Then it returns… and returns… like an eternal record of what has already happened.
The spheres spun more vigorously. Suddenly, for an instant, Gojo's body disappeared into absolute darkness. It was as if the light itself had been extinguished where he stood. Kaito narrowed his eyes in surprise... but then, the light returned, and with it, Gojo's figure. The two spheres, now fused together, didn't quite blend, but coexisted as perfect opposites. It was a devastatingly symbolic image: a floating yin and yang, spinning in absolute harmony.
Gojo moved the energy core to the tip of his finger.
He pointed directly at Kaito.
The sphere began to slowly expand, reaching an imposing size, enough to completely eclipse Gojo's body. From its core, spiraling rays of black and white energy erupted, distorting the air around it. It wasn't an explosion, but a violent compression: the concentration of time, emptiness, and purpose contained within a perfect form.
Kaito smirked, and the Ea sword began to spin violently, its cylinders roaring as if they were about to rend the sky. In a single instant, the lightning and the force of attraction surrounding the sphere vanished, and then the red energy burst into light. Changing into a completely golden light, as if the heart of a star burned within.
Its radiance spread out in all directions, piercing the broken sky in a perfect line of light that covered everything.
The air vibrated, the earth trembled, and rocks floated as if space itself were twisting under the pressure. The red marks on Kaito's body glowed with devastating energy.
Kaito raised his voice with a fierce cry, filled with pure determination:
—Enuma Elish !
With unstoppable force, he brought his sword down on Gojo. In that instant, the energy at the tip of Ea shot out like a massive, red and gold lightning bolt, streaking through the air at blinding speed.
Gojo, unfazed, smiled his trademark defiant smile and shouted:
—Eternal Return!
The energy sphere from his fingers shot out at high speed. It disintegrated the ground beneath his feet and charged toward Kaito's beam, colliding with it with a resounding crash.
—BOOM!
The collision resonated like the end of an era. Two colossal forces attempted to overpower each other, unleashing an unstoppable pressure. A brutal wind erupted, sweeping away everything in its path.
The shockwave spread, reaching the nearby city. The buildings on the edge were nearly destroyed. Terrified citizens ran for their lives as the collision of the two energies occurred. From the city, the collision of the two energies could be seen.
Gojo stretched his hands toward the sky, increasing the pressure of his attack. Kaito, in response, swung his sword harder, while Ea 's cylinders spun at a furious speed.
Both auras clashed violently: Gojo's, white as time with flashes as black as the void, and Kaito's, a red and gold swirl with dark veins that beat like a celestial heart, visible even from miles away.
The tension reached its peak… and then, it happened.
The two energies merged into a single unstable mass and at that instant a thunderous sound echoed.
—BOOO ...
A colossal explosion erupted, forming a dome of energy so immense it rose to the sky itself. Kaito and Gojo were thrown into the air by the blast, and the shockwave swept everything in its path, destroying what little remained of the place and shattering the dimensional rift hovering above them like it was made of glass.
The sky opened. The clouds were blown away, leaving a gigantic hole that stretched for miles, visible even from other regions. Even the edge of the city was leveled by the blast.
The explosion stopped. The energy dome slowly collapsed and vanished, leaving absolute silence on the battlefield.
In the distance, a path of destruction crisscrossed the terrain like a burnt scar. That furrow stretched for miles until it stopped at the base of a distant mountain, where the explosion hadn't reached. At its base, a massive crater as big as a ten-story building. In the center, motionless, stood Gojo. His body was still. His clothes were completely shredded, the aura that surrounded him was gone, and his eyes had returned to their normal state. There were no words. Only the echo of devastation.
Kaito advanced along the path of destruction with a firm step, holding the sword Ea . His right arm, the one wielding the weapon, was on the verge of being incinerated. The heat surrounding it was visible; steam rose from his cracked skin. The armor on that side was destroyed.
He continued walking without pause until he stopped at the edge of the crater. He looked up at Gojo.
—This is the end, Satoru Gojo. Any last words? I'll do whatever you ask… you were a worthy opponent.
Gojo moved his eyes towards him and replied in a weak voice:
—Protect those under my care…
"If I find them… I'll help them," Kaito said, without hesitation.
Gojo gave a slight smile before closing his eyes and losing consciousness.
Kaito sighed.
-Restore.
Ea 's hilt and raised it, aiming it at Gojo. The cylinders began to spin… but suddenly, they stopped.
Kaito tensed, surprised. He looked down at the sword.
Ea vibrated, emitting a red energy. Kaito narrowed his eyes.
—What are you doing, Ea ?
The sword vibrated again, louder. Kaito frowned.
—I won't do that. Why would I?
Another vibration shook the blade. An involuntary twitch appeared on Kaito's face as he stared at his sword.
—Damn it... Do whatever you want, but I won't help him. I'll just leave. Whether he lives or dies... will be up to him.
The sword vibrated once more. Kaito let out a resigned sigh. Then, he looked at Gojo and said.
—You're lucky. We'll see each other in the future... if you survive.
Kaito lowered his sword and turned around.
"You know he might try to kill us in the future," he said calmly, looking sideways at Ea .
Ea sword vibrated for a few seconds and Kaito frowned.
"Only because he's an opponent who will never exist again," he muttered. "But that last thing you said was annoying. If he ever says that again, I'd rather not use you again."
The sword vibrated again. Kaito just sighed. He took one last sideways glance at Gojo, then looked straight ahead and disappeared from the scene.
