The motorcycle roared over the dry roads of the county town, the main road was neat and wide, the wind whooshing past.
"Sister Zhao."
"What's up, handsome?"
"Is the new job going well?" Jiang Nian remembered she was a bit awkward when getting the membership card, probably because she was nervous, "You've onboarded, right?"
"Yes, I have, and I really have to thank you, handsome." Zhao Qiuxue laughed while riding, "If it weren't for you buying the membership and classes, I couldn't have skipped the probation period."
"It was nothing, really." Jiang Nian replied casually, "If it wasn't you buying, it would have been someone else. Why let the fat water flow to others, right?"
"That's true, but I only found out later that you knew Yunyun." Zhao Qiuxue chuckled sweetly, "She said you scored 573, which is impressive."
Jiang Nian clicked his tongue, thinking how "the daughter" was so filial behind his back.
The money was well spent.
Fifteen or sixteen minutes later, they arrived at the gym. It was located on the second floor of a large shopping mall, slightly bigger than the gym Zhao Qiuxue left a couple of days ago.
The side close to the road was converted into a glass wall, with a row of treadmills set up to attract customers.
Ding, Jiang Nian swiped his card into the gym.
There weren't many people working out in the evening, with plenty of equipment available, and signs indicating the swimming area inside. Jiang Nian hadn't looked carefully last time, and now realized this gym was decent.
He thought he could come for a swim to get his money's worth here when free.
Zhao Qiuxue went to change clothes, while Jiang Nian wandered around aimlessly.
Soon, Zhao Qiuxue came out, wearing tight black pants with a vest and a light gray short jacket, smiling gently.
"Let's go, class is starting."
Speaking of which, Song Xiyun and Zhao Qiuxue looked quite similar. However, their personalities were quite different; if Song Xiyun had half of her mom's innocence....
The class was rather unremarkable, mainly focused on the correct use of equipment, training duration, and proper training techniques, Zhao Qiuxue was indeed professional.
After about twenty minutes of training, Jiang Nian was already sweating and asked curiously.
"Sis, didn't you work in the county before?"
"Eh, how did you know?" Zhao Qiuxue touched her face, smiling warmly, "I used to work at a gym in the big city, but came back due to some issues."
"I can tell, you're used to city life, small towns aren't easy to adjust to, right?"
"That's right, small county town....." Zhao Qiuxue sighed softly, still smiling, "Once Yunyun goes to college, I'll likely head back."
After resting, they continued with the class, still focusing on explaining the movements.
Zhao Qiuxue taught very earnestly without any slacking. Initially, Jiang Nian planned to just go through the motions, but as he practiced, he got more interested and really followed along.
"Guys can work more on their legs; it'll be beneficial in the future."
Seeing Zhao Qiuxue's snickering face, Jiang Nian felt a bit embarrassed, thinking he should secretly record it next time for Song Xiyun to see.
"Well..... let's train then."
Exercising was indeed addictive; Jiang Nian was eighteen, his body fully developed, and moderate exercise was beneficial. After a thorough workout, drenched in sweat, he turned to take a shower.
He mulled over in his mind that he should come and train his legs more when free in the future.
In the equipment area, Zhao Qiuxue just finished stretching after class. Since her job change two days ago, Jiang Nian was her only client, and having made a sale eased some pressure.
Seeing Jiang Nian genuinely enjoying using the equipment put her mind at ease.
Suddenly, a female trainer approached.
"Qiuxue? Where's your little handsome guy?"
"Hm? In the shower." Zhao Qiuxue turned around, seeing the friendly colleague she met just yesterday, "Why, Lingling, aren't you in class?"
"Ugh, don't mention it." Mei Wanling said with a cringe, "A client who was supposed to buy ten sessions suddenly asked for additional services today."
"Huh?"
"Yeah, all went down the drain." Mei Wanling said, "You think everyone is a premium client like your little handsome guy, straightforward with their money and clean habits."
"Hehe, if it were the little handsome guy, offering extra services doesn't seem like a loss."
"Psh, what are you talking about." Zhao Qiuxue patted her, "He's still a kid, don't talk nonsense."
"Hehe, Qiuxue, stop fooling me, no one under eighteen can get our card." Mei Wanling seemed even more excited upon hearing this, "So isn't he legal....."
Zhao Qiuxue couldn't listen anymore and intended to leave, but Mei Wanling hugged her arm tightly.
"Teach me, Qiuxue, how do I find high-quality clients."
"How would I know, he's my daughter's classmate." Zhao Qiuxue was somewhat helpless, seeing there was no one around and smiling slightly, "I suspect they're in a puppy love..."
"Really?" Mei Wanling was instantly intrigued, hugging her arm, "Tell me more, I love this kind of gossip."
Before she could continue pressing her for details, a woman's stern voice came from afar.
"Is your spare time for slacking off?!"
Zhao Qiuxue's face changed at the sound, while Mei Wanling frowned and turned to look at the woman provocatively dressed in a little vest and yoga pants.
"What business is it of yours! Ren Meimei, are you the boss?"
"Hah, I'll report to the boss." The woman swayed her hips as she walked over, disdainful in her gaze, "Mei Wanling, mind your own business, always hanging around with unsavory people."
Mei Wanling cursed her quietly, "You're the one hanging around with shady people, Qiuxue even closed a sale two days ago. Stop being envious and jealous, do you even walk around the gym floor regularly?"
"Besides, Qiuxue just finished a class, what's with your barking?"
A gym coach in a small town is similar to sales; either they have steady clients recharging their cards, which are coaches with resources that the boss turns a blind eye to.
If they're new coaches without resources, they generally have to wander the gym floor and do freelance work. Pointing out things to members to attract them to buy classes.
"Closed a sale? She probably bought it herself, paying to work isn't seen often." Ren Meimei crossed her arms, disdainfully saying, "You can fool your friends, but don't fool yourself."
"Some high school student attending classes regularly, what nonsense. At least find someone with a job to play along, please be a bit professional, okay? What high schooler has time for fitness?"
"Can't someone have good grades? You country bumpkin haven't seen the world, can't blame you." Mei Wanling wasn't backing down either; she never got along with Ren Meimei.
"Haha, what good student goes to a gym." Ren Meimei had a knowing look, "You just believe whatever they tell you, so naive."
"Don't I know what's on an eighteen-year-old boy's mind? It's all about that, just not saying it outright."
Upon hearing this, Zhao Qiuxue couldn't help but frown; saying a couple of things about her was fine, but dragging Jiang Nian into it was something she couldn't ignore; no matter what, Jiang Nian was a good kid.
Just as she mustered her courage to speak up, Jiang Nian's voice came from afar.
"Sis, help me out with another sixty classes, will you."
