Chapter 115 - Chapter 115: Just a Bunch of Clowns

The water nets had already formed, sealing off the entire area completely.

Even with Jiraiya's speed, he hadn't been able to escape their encirclement in time and was now trapped within.

The flames burning across his body were scorching hot, yet they couldn't break through the water nets.

After all, the water was continuously being drawn from the river beneath their feet. No matter how intense Jiraiya's flames were, it was impossible to evaporate the entire river in an instant.

Seeing Jiraiya trapped inside, Shinden Ichiro let out a sigh of relief.

With this, Jiraiya's movements would be restricted.

If they couldn't limit Jiraiya's mobility and let him continue attacking at that speed, his elite Chunin wouldn't last more than a few moments before being wiped out.

Based on Jiraiya's combat style, Shinden Ichiro was now fairly certain—

Jiraiya was an assassin-type ninja, extremely adept at high-speed attacks.

Once immobilized, his strength couldn't be fully unleashed.

Now that he was caught in the water net, he was nothing more than prey on the chopping block, ready to be slaughtered at their leisure.

With that thought, Shinden Ichiro retrieved a scroll, pressed his hand against it, and summoned a large quantity of iron sand, scattering it into the water.

The water was already flowing at high speed, its cutting power formidable. Now, with the iron sand infused into it, the slicing force became even deadlier.

At the same time, the other Ame Chunin pulled out shuriken and tossed them into the rapidly moving currents.

Jiraiya chuckled, his tone relaxed. "Not bad. A decent barrier technique."

Despite being trapped, he wasn't the least bit panicked.

A barrier of this level?

Not enough to hold him.

Sure, it was well-crafted—but still too weak.

If they wanted to trap him with this, it would take an elite Ame Jonin to make it work.

Shinden Ichiro and his men began closing the water net, trying to slice Jiraiya into pieces.

"You Ame shinobi sure have a death wish, daring to cross the border."

Just then, Konoha's stationed ninja, alerted by the commotion, rushed toward the scene.

One of the Jonin shouted, his voice stern.

"You guys don't need to interfere," Jiraiya called out to them, a smirk playing on his lips. "These clowns are mine to deal with. Stay alert for any other Ame shinobi trying to infiltrate the fortress."

These were all easy battle merits.

If the others stepped in, he'd have to share the credit.

It wasn't about being selfish—this was his responsibility. If someone else handled it, it would reflect poorly on him.

But if he took them all down alone?

That would be another major achievement added to his record.

"Jiraiya-sama, are you sure?"

One of the Konoha ninja hesitated, slightly taken aback.

"They're just a bunch of clowns. I can handle them myself."

Jiraiya's tone was confident.

As an Anbu captain, his rank outranked even the stationed Jonin here.

So even the other Konoha Jonin had to follow his orders.

Once Jiraiya gave the command, the Konoha ninja dispersed, securing the perimeter.

Shinden Ichiro's expression darkened as he stared at Jiraiya, still trapped inside the barrier.

Jiraiya had refused reinforcements.

That meant he was absolutely confident he could break free.

"Summoning Jutsu!"

Shinden Ichiro bit his thumb, slammed his palm onto the water, and activated the summoning formation.

With a puff of smoke, three grotesque fish, each over half a meter long, emerged.

Jiraiya didn't recognize what kind of summoning beasts they were.

But that hardly mattered.

The other Ame ninja also began summoning their own creatures.

In mere moments, over a dozen of these eerie fish appeared in the water.

Raising their heads, the creatures spewed out streams of purple liquid toward Jiraiya.

The pungent, acrid stench was overwhelming.

Poison.

Ame shinobi were infamous for their expertise in poison.

Their leader, Hanzo of the Salamander, was a master of toxic techniques.

Half of his reputation as a "Demi-God" came from his poison-based abilities, particularly his summoning beast—Ibuse.

Any ninja who fought Hanzo often found themselves poisoned before they even realized it.

By the time they noticed, the venom had already spread through their bodies.

Death was inevitable.

Naturally, the other Ame shinobi—and their summoning beasts—were also skilled in the use of poison.

Unfortunately for them, Jiraiya had the Universal Poison Seal, rendering him completely immune.

Their attacks were meaningless.

Forming a quick sequence of hand seals, Jiraiya activated a defensive Water Release technique—Water Formation Wall.

A massive water barrier rose, intercepting the incoming poison.

The moment the venom made contact, the water wall darkened into an ominous shade of purple-black.

The stench grew even more intense.

Meanwhile, the water net continued to shrink, leaving Jiraiya with less and less space to maneuver.

"Lightning Release: Myriad Thunder Prison!"

Jiraiya was done playing around.

Forming another set of seals, he released a surge of raw lightning chakra.

In an instant, countless streaks of lightning erupted around him, accompanied by a deafening roar.

The entire battlefield was engulfed in a blinding blue glow.

The sheer number of lightning strikes was overwhelming—far more than anything Jiraiya had conjured before.

It was as if the whole area had transformed into a sea of lightning.

The storm of electricity surged toward the Ame shinobi.

Shinden Ichiro's face twisted in horror.

"Scatter! Get away from the water!" he bellowed, panic creeping into his voice.

He dashed across the surface, trying to escape.

The others attempted to do the same.

But no matter how fast they moved, they couldn't outrun lightning.

The moment Shinden Ichiro's voice fell—

The storm struck.

Thunderbolts crashed down, swallowing the Ame shinobi in a blinding tempest of destruction.

Screams filled the air—agonized, desperate wails that were quickly silenced.

Because those who were struck—

Were reduced to nothing.

Their bodies disintegrated into ashes, vanishing into the storm.

When the light faded, the only one left standing was Shinden Ichiro.

Every other Ame ninja—including the two Jonin—had been utterly annihilated.
