A long day.
It had been too long a day not to fall into these strangely warm and inviting arms.
"I was out getting spices all day. Rubbing bodies with strangers around the market. Of course I smell like a man."
Stroking her arm, he went silent.
He knew that. That's why he was here. Knowing this was the first place she'd visit once she returned.
"Run my bath."
Aurelia was instantly rendered speechless by the sudden command.
Run his bath, really?
She had just told him she'd been running around looking for spices all day, and the second thing he said to her was to run his bath?
She sighed inwardly. What did she even expect? She was a maid, after all and the entire time, his bulge had been pressing against her.
A man like him didn't see women as anything more than tools for obedience or pleasure. To him, she was both.
She had made it hard the first time. This was clearly his way of getting back at her… though, honestly, she was surprised it took him this long.
Sigh.
