Chapter 69 - The Protector Part 4

The warriors rushed to put on their gear upon the Queen's order. Speeding to the front, they saw they were too late, as the cyborgs were marching into the village in rows.

The warriors quickly make a semi-circle around the cyborgs and cut off their path.

"Lay down or get down." The cyborg states, seeing the warriors with their weapons up and ready.

"It's get down or lay down." The general corrects it.

"I said what I said." The cyborg retorts.

The general coolly readjusts her stance. "And my actions speak louder than my words, " she states.

"So be it." the cyborg says, starting the battle.

The warriors do well to hold their barrier and keep the cyborgs contained. The barrier starts to thin out as the battle goes on, but it feels like the cyborgs' numbers are endless. As one breaks, another steps in its place.

Finally, the last one is struck down, the blade of the general slicing through its metallic collarbone and getting wedged in its stomach.

Sparking, before the cyborg dies, it gives them one last message. "Prepare yourself. This was only the first wave. We will burn this vill-". The cyborg's words are cut off along with its head.

Kicking the cyborg off her weapon, the general tells her warriors to regroup and prepare for the next wave of intruders.

Hearing footsteps, the warriors all get ready for the next wave. This time feels different, though.

The warriors can feel an ominous aura coming through the tunnel. As it gets closer, a few of the warriors start to get nervous. The general can't blame them, but she still yells for them to hold their ground.

The eyes can be seen first, and the general and everyone who can, see the eyes of a demon. Then Cordayl walks through, shirt torn to pieces and angry as hell.

Seeing the warriors in front of him, Cordayl calms down a little. "Good job. Tend to your wounded."

"They said there was another wave coming." The general tells him.

"Already taken care of." Cordayl responds, disappearing to find the hunter.

This last statement confuses the warriors. The general grabs a few warriors and tells the rest to take the wounded to the medical ward.

Walking through the tunnel, the warriors see nothing at first, but as they get closer to the waterfall entrance, they start to see parts and pieces of robots covering the rock floor all the way to the waterfall.

Walking through the waterfall, the general and her warrior are shocked to see that Cordayl has turned their beautiful land into a scrap yard.

"Thank goodness he is on our side." One warrior mentions getting several noises of agreement.

Yesseia and Waminya continue their fight and are whooping the hunter's ass. After finishing a dope ass combo, the hunter rolls away. Getting up in pain, the hunter licks her lips.

Pulling out her trump card, the hunter pops off the lid and pours it into her robotic eye. The hunter's wounds heal as the juice goes straight into her brain, and she gets into a prowl-like stance.

"Something has changed, be care-". Yesseia's words are cut off by the hunter's sudden pounce on her. Yesseia barely has time to react to the strike, and if Waminya hadn't intervened and kicked the next one away, Yesseia would have been severely wounded.

The two fight the hunter but find that this round has wholly turned in favor of the hunter. The hunter is on both of their asses. Her speed is just too much for the two strong warriors, and they both end up getting knocked aside.

Waminya took a brutal hit, and Yesseia hobbles over to check on her.

"Keep taking this lightly, Yesseia, and this hunt will start to bore me. Transform and give me a real fighter to devour!" the hunter challenges.

Electricity flashes through Yesseia's glares as she states, "I'll be back."

"I think it would be safer for you here, child," Waminya tells her.

"That kitten won't be a problem. Trust me." Yesseia promises.

"I believe you. But it won't be necessary. Cordayl is here. And he is hangry." Waminya replies.

Yesseia turns around, and her jaw drops slightly, seeing Cordayl like he is.

The hunter is coolly walking towards Yesseia when she feels the coldest chill she has ever experienced run up her spine.

Turning her head, the fear of death is clear in her eyes as she sees Cordayl, surrounded by his dark aura, staring down at her.

The hunter tries to jump back, but Cordayl is right there in her face, and she stares death eye to eye.

Cordayl grabs her by the neck and slams her into the ground, causing it to crack and shake under the impact.

Yesseia has to grab Waminya and jump out of the way of the destruction. Cordayl then takes the hunter and tosses her clear away from the two women.

Cordayl is suddenly in front of both of them, his aura unchanging as he ask them if they are okay. Yesseia is in shock seeing him so cold and angry. All she can do is nod her head.

"Good. I'll wrap this up quickly." Then, just like that, he is gone again.

Yesseia realizes that she wasn't even breathing just now and finally takes in some oxygen. "That's him when he is hungry? Glad I fed him when we met again."

"Yeah, he's always been like that. If he were mad, that kitten would've been turned into a puddle." She chuckles. "This fight is already over. Walk me to the medical ward please." Waminya ask.

The hunter crashes through buildings, and even when she forces herself to a prowl position, she still can't stop herself from crashing into another building.

The hunter roars in rage and bursts through the ceiling, looking for Cordayl.

As she hovers in the air scanning for her prey, she feels a dangerous aura from above. Looking up, she sees Cordayl blocking out the sun as he gets ready to stomp her back down to the earth.

The hunter reacts, but not fast enough as Cordayl's foot comes down. But his foot doesn't connect with the hunter. His stomp turns the gravity on by 200 and sends her slamming back down into the village, destroying the building she just jumped through.

Pushing through the rubble, the hunter stands up broken, bloodied, and nearly defeated. The hunter sees Cordayl and knows she only has one more move left, but with every step, Cordayl takes toward her, gravity gets heavier and heavier.

Cordayl centers his anger directly on the hunter, stopping all of her movemeant. In a blur of darkness, Cordayl rips the cheetah apart limb by limb.

Torn to shreds and unable to react to the pain due to the immense weight on her robotic frame, the ground underneath her gives, and she starts to sink into the earth.

Cordayl keeps his gravity activated, walks to the edge, and stares down into its depths, watching the hunter get crushed until her robotic eye turns off.

Canceling the power, he casually grabs rubble to plug into the hole when he notices the warriors standing in the distance.

He sees the fear in their eyes as they saw the merciless way he ended things. But then a random clap happens, and he is cheered on as a hero, with Yesseia and his mother joining in as well.

Cordayl accepts the appreciation and runs over to his mother and Yesseia. "You good to be on your feet so soon?" Cordayl ask.

"Yes, I am fine. I just needed some quick attention. That kitten wasn't nearly enough to keep me down for the count." His mom boasts.

Corday turns his attention to Yesseia. "Are you good?" He asks.

"Of course. I was just about to finish that cat myself. Are you okay?" She asks, concerned after what she saw.

"Yeah. Just hungry," Cordayl says, grabbing his empty stomach. Then he asks if the picnic area was destroyed.

"No, the food area is still up, thanks to me and Yesseia keeping damage to a minimum." Waminya throws shade.

"Sorry about that. I lost a little of my cool." Cordayl sheepishly admits.

"Uhm, hmm. Hurry up and eat so that you can help with the cleanup." Waminya tells him.

Cordayl kisses his mom and tells her he'll be right back. Stopping, he grabs Yesseia's hand. "Come on, you still gotta make the plate." He smiles as they run away.

A week passes, and the infrastructure is starting to go back up on the buildings Cordayl destroyed. A pile of the robot parts is seen being sorted through for future purposes.

As he and Yesseia pack the clothes and gifts they received during their stay, Waminya walks in. "Y'all pack up fast, " she says.

"Its easy when you pack light," Yesseia replies.

"You didn't pack light. You just chose to carry the lighter bags." Cordayl mentions throwing a much larger bag on his back.

Yesseia and Waminya look at each other and share a laugh. Then they hug, and Waminya tells her she is welcome anytime in their village.

Yesseia thanks her and tells her that she appreciates the feeling of home they have given her the last week.

The two disengage and Waminya walks them out. The villagers all say goodbye to them as they pass by. As they get to the entrance, Waminya grabs Cordayl's hand.

Yesseia stops, too, but she and Cordayl's eye contact tells her to give him a moment.

"Are you coming back?" Waminya nervously asks.

Cordayl looks at his mother's begging eyes, then he looks at the village in the process of rebuilding itself. Fixing homes that he destroyed, because of violence brought by him.

Cordayl shakes his head and sadly tells her no. "I finally find my mother and a home, but I can't stay here. In a week's time, the village is invaded, and destruction results. I'm sorry, Ma, but it's still not safe for me to be around." Cordayl tells her.

Waminya picks his head up. "I understand Cordayl. But know you will always have a home here. And when you're ready, a kingdom to protect."

Cordayl smiles and hugs his mother one last time. They wipe their eyes and laugh, noticing that neither of them is trying to cry in public, as most of the village still surrounds the entrance.

Cordayl waves goodbye to them, but before he can finally walk away, Waminya orders them all to shout their well wishes and prayers for King Cordayl, which none of the villagers dispute.

Cordayl bows to the people and walks out the exit with one last wave to catch up to Yesseia.
