Chapter 62 - Mighty Morphin Ducks

Walking out of the local store, a teen gets a random beep on his watch. Finishing his drink, the teen takes off at an amazing speed on the sidewalk.

A second teen is seen hooping at a local park when, after his big block, he gets a chime on his watch. Telling the guys he has to go and getting a bunch of boos, he takes off sprinting through the park.

Another teen is seen coaching a swim team. After clocking her swimmers' times, she gets a notification on her watch. Telling the team captain to make sure everyone does 15 laps before they leave, the teen exits the pool and takes off.

At music rehearsals, the lead singer is singing his ass off on his solo. Suddenly, he gets a strong vibration on his wrist. Without breaking his tone, the lead singer starts to back out towards the exit.

The other group members watch him as he does so, confused about where he is going, but he sings all the way out the door and continues to do so as he takes off at full speed.

The final teen is alone in a steel room. Meditation over, he jumps up and punches and kicks the metal cube, leaving dents and cracks in every inch he touches. He gets a ring on his wristwatch when he throws his last punch.

Taking a deep breath, he jumps through the high open ceiling of the steel cube. Landing, he hits the ground running.

All of the teens run through the streets, doing their own versions of parkour, as they unconsciously unite and run through the street together.

The pack leader tells his team that their arch-enemy is back, causing a rampage throughout the city, and that it's up to them to stop him. The team roars in agreement, and they all initiate their uniform transformations.

Each teen transforms into a unique costume and races off to fight the enemy.

When they arrive, the team is shocked to see minimal damage done to the area and their enemy already sitting there, knocked out in the street.

"I don't understand." One of them says. "We've never even beaten him to the point he looks like this."

"You're right." One of them answers. "That means there is an even more formidable foe than him."

"Exactly." The leader agrees. "Break up and see if they are still in the area. Radio in as soon as you see something." The leader states.

"Roger!" The team breaks, splitting up to find the villain.

Everyone searches and loses hope when suddenly one of them tunes in on the channel. "Yo, I think I found the person responsible."

"Great! Keep track until backup arrives. Everyone else, get to his location now!" The leader shouts.

As everyone sprints to catch up with their comrade, they all take guesses on who the enemy is. After so many wrong guesses, the hero with eyes on the enemy finally snaps.

"It's none of them! It's-"

"The Diablo." The team leader states as he and the rest of the team rejoin their comrade. Staring down at the Diablo, the heroes are confused as they watch him.

"Is he helping an old lady with her groceries?" One of them ask.

"Yeah, right. He's probably planning to run off with them when she ties her shoes. Well, not on our watch. Come on!" The leader shouts.

Cordayl is walking with the older woman when he notices her slowing down. "You need a moment, ma'am."

"Ohh no, sweetheart. The house is just up the street. Just these old bones of mine. They don't work like they used to. Trust me, in my heyday, I was a queen. You would've been carrying me home." The old lady tells him.

"I'll carry you now. You're probably lighter than all these bags." The two share a laugh.

Suddenly, there is a boom of a landing behind Cordayl as the heroes have hit the street. Walking out all cool from the dust, the team leader is the first to speak.

"The Diablo! If you think you are going to do this city like you did the Youtound Kingdom, you are surely mistaken. Your reign of wreckage ends today!" He shouts as the team all strike their battle stances.

"What they say? The De Mayo? It's August." The old lady replies.

"Let's keep walking. You said your house is just up the street, right?" Cordayl says, putting a hand on her shoulder, trying to usher her along.

"Unhand her, you evil being!" One of the heroes shouts, diving in to detach Cordayl from the old lady. Before his punch can land, Cordayl is gone.

"Ohh my!" The old lady says as the wind finally catches up to her.

"Sorry, ma'am. I didn't want to get you caught up in anything. It was nice meeting you, though." Cordayl tells her.

"Well, wait, sweetheart. Let me give you something for your trou—"But with another strong gust of wind, Cordayl is nowhere to be seen. "This isn't even my house," the woman remarks as she continues walking.

The heroes stand there in confusion as to where Cordayl has gone. As they all scratch their helmets, one of them comments, "We must have scared him off. He's definitely one of the smartest villains we've run into. Knowing better than to mess with us." He boasts.

But then Cordayl returns. The team throws their guards back up upon seeing him again.

Cordayl cooly walks towards them. "You threw a punch at an old lady. That's not very hero-like." Cordayl shakes his head.

"That punch was meant for you, and you know it!" The hero defends.

"Maybe. But what if she got caught in the impact?" Cordayl ask.

This puzzles the hero some, but his teammate speaks up for him. "That wasn't going to happen. Besides, you are evil. You destroy shit and even beat up other evil beings. So expect no mercy from us!" They shout.

Cordayl sighs. "I've already chosen violence once today. What's one more time before dinner?"

"The only thing you will be eating is a knuckle sandwich!" A hero states, jumping in to fight Cordayl.

Cordayl dodges the attack and returns the swing, but another hero blocks it.

Slowly but surely, Cordayl ends up in a one vs. five against the heroes. As good of fighters as they are, the team can't seem to get the advantage on Cordayl, as he uses his gravity manipulation to uppercut all of the heroes at once and uses a force push to knock them all away from him.

The heroes get back up to their feet and decide that they need to get more serious if they are going to take down the Diablo. Calling on their mystic armaments, they all draw their weapons and dive in for round two against Cordayl.

Cordayl doesn't mind this but gives himself a fairer fight as he runs through the city. The heroes are on his ass, but Cordayl isn't running to evade them. Seeing a building that will do, Cordayl jumps up several floors and decides to take the heroes on there.

Cordayl is shocked to see only three heroes make it up to the floor he is on, but he engages them in combat anyway. Using the office furniture to his advantage, Cordayl throws the heroes off, who are too focused on him rather than their environment.

Suddenly, two different hands plunge through the floor and grab Cordayl's legs. The hands try to pull him down to the floor beneath, but Cordayl doesn't budge.

As the leader of the heroes comes diving in to take Cordayl out, Cordayl pulls his leg up and tosses the hero attached to his ankle in front of the hero.

The leader pulls back his swing to avoid cutting his friend in half, but his yanked up friend is on the offensive as he points his laser gun at Cordayl's head.

The gun fires a single beam, and Cordayl ducks to the side to dodge the blast. That's when the hero, who had his other foot, swings up and kicks him in the head.

Cordayl blocks the good attack with his forearm and looks up to see the rest of the team converging on him at once.

Cordayl bursts out of the office with a boom as his back smashes through the walls.

The heroes walk through the dust, cool as hell, but are confused when they see Cordayl smirking.

"By yourselves, you aren't much, but together, you guys are pretty good," Cordayl tells them.

"Together, we can defeat anyone! And don't you forget it!" the leader shouts as the team strikes their battle stances.

"Unfortunately, I'm not anyone. I'm a whole army." Cordayl states as he dives back into the fight. Cordayl is the aggressor this round, forcing all five heroes on the defensive with his relentless attacks.

Cordayl knocks 4 out of 5 heroes on the ground, leaving him with just the leader. The two circle around and then engage in combat, with Cordayl winning most of the exchanges.

Cordayl hits the leader with a massive uppercut that sends the man crashing through each floor until he bursts out of the building and lands on the roof roughly.

The leader hears his team radioing in to check on his condition. He grunts in pain, but he tells them that he is still in the fight.

"It's time to bring out the big guy," he tells them, to which they all agree.

Cordayl finally reaches the rooftop, and to his surprise, he watches the leader jump over the edge. Confused, Cordayl walks over to the ledge, but the hero is nowhere to be seen.

Figuring he has made the team retreat, Cordayl shrugs and walks to the exit to leave the building by taking the stairs.

After jumping off the roof, the leader flips up his watch and presses the code to give him access to his trump card. All the heroes did the same, jumping out of the building and doing the same thing.

The heroes all teleport and get into their pods as they all combine in a flashy and dope way to create their mechazord. Now combined and forming their giant ass robot, the team moves to stop the Diablo once and for all.

As Cordayl calmly walks down the stairs, he notices the random trembling as he descends. Not thinking anything of it, Cordayl ponders on which restaurant he wants to grab a bite at.

The trembling finally stops, and Cordayl is happy it does as he walks out of the building and sees a giant metal foot right in front of him. Cordayl looks up to see the enormous metal warrior looking down on him.

"This ends now, Diablo." The giant metal voice booms.

Cordayl looks up with a blank face, peels the metal toe apart, and walks into the mechazord as if walking through a curtained doorway.

"Wait, what the hell? " the metal robot says.

As Cordayl slowly makes his way up through the giant metal body, the mechanoid sparks and catches fire as it is broken down from the inside.

Making his way to the top, the head starts to twitch and shake as Cordayl beats the leader.

"That's cheatingggggg." the robotic voice states as it shuts off.

With no power and a broken right half, the mechazord falls over.

As it is falling over, a man in a car that should not be there at all, as most of the people in the area evacuated long ago, turns white as a socket as he stares at the descending metal tower about to turn him into paste.

The man tries to reverse his vehicle and avoid being crushed by the giant robot body, but it is not nearly fast enough.

As the robot body crashes down into the earth, the driver of the car is frozen in fear as he questions if he is dead or alive.

Finally opening an eye, the driver of the vehicle sees Cordayl holding up the part of the robot that was meant to crush him.

The driver sits in shock as he watches this man single-handedly hold up this humongous robot.

"Bro, get out of here," Cordayl tells the driver. The driver snaps out of it and goes to start his car, but now the battery is dead.

Cordayl sighs in annoyance. Turning his body, he tells the driver to put the car in neutral. Doing so, the driver just watches as Cordayl raises his foot and pushes the car far enough back that the driver isn't in harm's way anymore.

Gently putting the mechazord down, Cordayl waves good bye to the random guy as he walks away to go get him something to eat.
