Chapter 183 - Chapter 182: Parker’s 2099 Adventure

Although Parker was somewhat displeased with being forcibly drafted into this situation, he couldn't ignore the advanced technology he had seen when fighting Spider-Man 2099—technology far beyond his own era.

So, he decided to accept reality for the time being.

Shrugging, he optimistically consoled himself, "Well, my genius intellect is already a century ahead of my own time, which means I'm practically at 2099 levels. That should mean my intelligence can integrate with the technology of this era. Since that guy managed to create a machine to travel to my time, figuring out how to return shouldn't be too hard. First step—find a well-equipped research lab."

But Parker's optimism was not rewarded by fate.

Instead, he attracted the attention of this era's so-called "police."

In this timeline, Nueva York was under the control of an organization known as Public Eye.

It didn't take long after Parker started web-swinging through the city before he was surrounded by several uniformed agents riding flying patrol bikes.

One of them shouted, "Spider-Man, halt! You are under arrest for public endangerment! Do not attempt to flee!"

"Hmm? Flee?" Parker's gaze turned cold as he looked back.

Originally, he just wanted to keep a low profile, find a decent lab, and develop a way to return to his world.

But these guys actually thought they could arrest him?

And they dared to claim he was trying to run away?

Did they even know who he was?

The Ultimate Spider-Man!

Did he need to run?

No way. These guys needed a lesson.

With a sudden burst of speed, Parker lunged toward the agent who had spoken so arrogantly.

Midair, four mechanical spider legs extended from his back.

Swish! Swish! Swish!

His spider legs struck precisely, piercing into one of the patrol bikes. Parker's figure flashed through the air.

Boom!

A loud explosion erupted.

The patrol bike of the arrogant agent burst into a ball of fire midair.

Fortunately, the combat uniforms of Public Eye agents were equipped with protective measures.

In that critical moment, the self-defense system of the uniform activated.

When the flames dissipated, the agent had miraculously survived!

That was a bit beyond Parker's expectations.

Glancing back at the agent, who was now deploying a parachute in an attempt to land safely, Parker smirked coldly.

Did they really think they could offend him, Otto, and walk away unscathed?

Not a chance!

Extending his hand, Parker shot a web that latched onto a part of the agent's parachute.

The massive, strong webbing enveloped most of the parachute before it could fully open, rendering it useless.

With only half a parachute deployed, there was no way it could support a person's weight.

A terrified scream rang out as the Public Eye agent plummeted.

"Damn it!" Another agent saw this and immediately dived down with his patrol bike, catching his falling comrade midair.

The rescued agent clung tightly to his colleague, shouting in panic, "Retreat! Retreat! Call for backup!"

"Spider-Man usually runs when we chase him! Who the hell is this guy? Why isn't he playing by the rules?!"

By the time they managed to recover, Parker was already dozens of meters away.

He turned around and looked at the few people fleeing in panic, sneering, "That's right, run away. Now you finally know who should be running, don't you, idiots? Remember this—stay far away from me!"

At that moment, a flying car hovered in front of Zhang Parker.

The driver's side window rolled down, and a man shouted, "Spider-Man, what are you standing here laughing about? Do you really think they'll be scared off by your threats? Once they upgrade their weapons, they'll be back for you in no time! If you don't want more trouble, get in the car now!"

Zhang Parker eyed the man warily. "Fine, I'll trust you this once. But you'd better not try anything funny, or you'll find out I'm not the Spider-Man you're used to."

The man merely chuckled and said, "Oh, I know exactly who you are. Your suit may be different from before, but as soon as I heard your voice, I was sure. You're Spider-Man from the 'Heroic Age.' Your name is… Peter, right?"

Someone in this unfamiliar world actually knew Peter Parker!

This unsettled Zhang Parker.

But his instincts warned him not to reveal his true identity, even in this strange era.

So, he remained silent.

To the man, however, that silence was as good as an admission.

The man raised an eyebrow. "You seriously don't remember me, Mr. Parker?"

Zhang Parker let out an awkward laugh. "Shouldn't be surprising, right? The last time we met was… well, a long time ago. Besides, your face isn't exactly memorable—not handsome, not ugly, just plain. How could I possibly remember it?"

Gabriel O'Hara: ?

A black line seemed to appear on Gabriel O'Hara's forehead. "You little—fine, let's start over. My name is Gabriel O'Hara. I have a younger brother, Miguel O'Hara. He's Spider-Man in this era. But he's gone missing. Did you have something to do with it?"

Spider-Man of this era?

So, it must be that Spider-Man 2099 he had fought before!

Zhang Parker grew even more cautious.

When Gabriel O'Hara said his name, fragments of memories surfaced in Zhang Parker's mind.

These memories belonged to Peter Parker's body, buried deep within his consciousness due to the passage of time. They could only be triggered after receiving enough relevant information—something that happened quite often in daily life.

Zhang Parker asked, "Why would you think that?"

Gabriel O'Hara replied, "No offense, but my brother disappears, and then you suddenly show up here from the past? Hard not to connect the dots."

"Yes, you're very clever," Zhang Parker nodded. "But in reality, I'm a victim too. Your brother ended up in my time, and then, suddenly, I was transported here. It looks like we swapped places! I'm trying to find a way to switch us back. You want your brother to come home, don't you?"

"Of course," Gabriel O'Hara said, focusing on driving. The flying car moved at high speed under his control, yet remained steady as if handled by a veteran pilot.

"So, I think you should share more accurate information with me. Maybe then, I can figure out how to fix this mess. I want to go home too," Zhang Parker reasoned.

"Sounds fair." Gabriel O'Hara nodded slightly. "I know a good hideout where we can avoid those guys and come up with a plan."
