When Peter entered this room, he felt a strange sensation.
Because of this, he instinctively moved closer to the Web of Life's Eye.
As he approached the chair of the Web of Life's Eye, the strange sensation grew even stronger.
Driven by an inexplicable force, Peter placed his hand on the chair's armrest and then sat down.
Boom!
Mysterious quantum energy erupted wildly from his body, surging through the surrounding conduits in all directions.
The Superior Spider-Man was shocked. "What did you do to him?"
He immediately prepared to rush forward and pull Peter off the Web of Life's Eye chair.
But Spider-Man 2099 grabbed him. "Trust me, this isn't something I'm doing. It's something he is choosing to do. The Web of Life and Destiny has chosen him!"
As he spoke, his gaze remained fixed on the figure seated in the Web of Life's Eye.
At this moment, neither Spider-Man 2099 nor the Superior Spider-Man could clearly see Peter's form anymore.
The luminous conduits surrounding them had begun releasing more and more glowing particles. These particles were neither magical energy nor mere photons.
They floated freely through the room like living plankton, appearing here one moment and there the next, flickering in and out of existence.
"What is this?" The Superior Spider-Man curiously extended his hand, palm open.
A small glowing particle drifted down slowly.
However, the moment it touched his hand, it passed through as if it didn't exist in this world at all—then, in a flash, it vanished.
Spider-Man 2099 said, "This is... quantum."
"Quantum? Isn't that just a unit in physics? It doesn't actually exist like this," the Superior Spider-Man scoffed, as if Miguel was joking.
After all, he had an advanced degree and specialized in physics. He understood the definition of quantum very well.
However, Spider-Man 2099 simply shook his head and said, "I'm not talking about quantum in a physical sense, but quantum as it relates to the Web of Life and Destiny! These particles represent every variable within the multiverse. They influence the expansion of the Web of Life and Destiny, the birth of new worlds, and the collapse of old ones. They are one of the fundamental laws that form the multiverse itself!"
A question mark seemed to slowly appear above the Superior Spider-Man's head.
His long-standing scientific mindset made it difficult for him to comprehend what Spider-Man 2099 was saying.
The discussion and confusion between the two outside could not affect Peter.
At this moment, he felt as though he had traversed countless universes in an instant.
He saw an immense, glowing web stretching across the entire multiverse, spanning unfathomable distances of space and time.
This... was probably the Great Web that Spider-Man 2099 had mentioned!
Peter gazed at the scene before him, utterly shaken.
Through his direct connection to the Great Web, he suddenly felt as though he could see the entire multiverse—countless worlds unfolding right before his eyes!
In a certain universe, Spider-Man was passionately kissing Black Cat. In this world, they were a couple. Besides teaming up to hunt "monsters," their favorite pastime was doing things lovers do in places inaccessible to ordinary people.
However, at that moment, Spider-Man suddenly jolted awake, abruptly lifting his head.
"What's wrong, darling? Come on," Black Cat twisted her sultry body, rubbing against Spider-Man like a real feline.
Yet, the fiery passion that had just ignited in Spider-Man was instantly extinguished.
He looked up at the sky, puzzled. "Felicia, wait. It feels like something is watching us."
Black Cat was stunned for a moment before quickly zipping up her tight leather suit, scanning the surroundings warily. "Who? I'll claw their eyes out!"
"I don't know," Spider-Man shook his head. "But whatever it is, it doesn't feel dangerous. In fact, it feels... familiar? Yes, my instincts are telling me that. Wait, it seems like... 'he' is gone."
—
In another universe.
Spider-Man, Peter Parker, lay gravely injured on a hospital bed. A villain known as "Red Hood" pressed a handgun against his head, threatening the two stunning women standing across from him.
One of them, with deep auburn hair, was Spider-Man's official girlfriend, Mary Jane. The other, with silver-white hair, was his rumored lover, "Black Cat," Felicia Hardy.
At that moment, Black Cat was draped in a cloak.
Red Hood scowled at her appearance and shouted angrily, "Give me back my cloak!"
"Alright, alright, here you go," Black Cat casually ripped the red cloak from her shoulders and tossed it to Red Hood.
He caught it eagerly, his satisfaction evident. "Ha! I still can't believe you two beautiful ladies actually managed to retrieve it for me!"
It turned out that not long ago, Red Hood had lost his red cloak in a battle against Hawkeye. The cloak, imbued with demonic power, granted him superhuman abilities.
Meanwhile, after Spider-Man was hospitalized due to his injuries, Black Cat grew concerned and frequently visited him. This, however, attracted the attention of the cunning Red Hood.
Seizing the opportunity, Red Hood used Spider-Man's life to threaten Black Cat, forcing the renowned thief to retrieve his stolen cloak.
After much effort, Black Cat and Mary Jane finally managed to recover it, leading to the scene unfolding now.
Black Cat watched as Red Hood put on the cloak, her signature seductive smile gracing her lips. "You know, Robbins, once you understand what someone desires, you can take anything you want from them."
"What do you mean?" Red Hood—Robbins—had just fastened the cloak and was preparing to leave through the window when he paused, turning to eye Black Cat warily.
Her reputation, both infamous and alluring, made it impossible for him to let his guard down.
However, Black Cat merely responded with a sweet, knowing smile.
At that instant, the red cloak transformed into a pitch-black demon, which lunged forward and swallowed Robbins whole!
"Ahhh—!" Robbins' screams filled the room, but they were futile.
Within moments, he was completely devoured.
The demon then reverted to its original form—a backpack demon!
It turned out that what Black Cat and Mary Jane had stolen wasn't Red Hood's original cloak at all, but another backpack demon.
Their deal with the demon had been simple: to erase the man threatening their beloved Spider-Man from existence!
