Due to Peter's actions, everyone present had already begun to regard him as their leader.
Since Peter had spoken, Electro naturally had no objections.
Of course, earning the trust of those he had previously persecuted was a problem that Dr. Lizard would have to figure out on his own.
Dr. Lizard left, carrying a few unconscious lizard soldiers.
At that moment, Electro made a request that took Peter by surprise.
"You want to join my Transdimensional Task Force and become a member of the team?"
"Yes!"
"Do you understand what that means?" Peter looked Electro in the eyes and asked in return.
Without hesitation, Electro replied, "It means I may never return to this world again, that I will be wandering through the vast universe from now on, and that I might even die in another universe."
"No regrets?"
"None!"
"Why?" Peter was even more puzzled.
He didn't believe it was because of his charisma or anything like that.
He wasn't some overpowered protagonist who could make people submit with just a dramatic pose.
Electro sighed and revealed his reasons.
He told Peter about his past with the Lafayettes. Lafayette's wife had pulled him out of a dark and cold world, teaching him how to help others and how to earn respect through his own abilities.
Although Lafayette's later actions left Electro disheartened, they only slightly altered his perspective.
As for his decision to follow Peter, that idea had only just formed.
Initially, he had planned to use gold or something from this world to pay Peter for his help.
He feared that a justice-driven Spider-Man wouldn't take in a "monster" like him.
That was until he met the Paper Vulture.
Compared to Paper Vulture, he actually seemed more human.
That realization sparked a new idea in him.
Since Peter could accept even Paper Vulture, then surely he could accept him too, right?
And so, this scene unfolded.
Electro's willingness to join delighted both Peter and Gwen.
As a "Logia-type ability user," Electro had immense potential and was a powerful asset.
Moreover, he was a righteous person—someone who, despite living in darkness, upheld his nature and protected others. Even if his actions were influenced by someone else, that didn't erase his accomplishments.
This alone spoke volumes about his character.
Having such a "heroic figure" on the team helped dispel the notion that the Transdimensional Task Force was just another version of the "X Task Force."
Joking aside, the X Task Force was full of villains. Look at the Transdimensional Task Force—there were still plenty of good people here!
That thought unconsciously lifted Peter's mood.
However, Peter's good mood didn't last long.
As Electro led him, Gwen, and the Paper Bag Vulture toward the gates of the community named "Electro," they were suddenly stopped.
Electro looked at the person aiming a gun at him and called out, "Balazs, it's me, Max! The crisis is over—you can relax now!"
Balazs was a middle-aged man who appeared to be in his forties. He wasn't particularly tall, but he was strong—rugged by ordinary standards.
He stared grimly at Electro and the three people behind him, then shouted back, "Max, you killed Lafayette and brought Spider-Man and a monster here! Electro Community does not welcome Spider-Man and monsters!"
"What?" Electro's eyes widened. "I killed Lafayette because he tried to betray me! He was going to sell me out to Doctor Lizard!"
"But you let Doctor Lizard go!" a voice suddenly called out from the side.
However, when Peter and the others turned to look, they saw no one. The speaker had clearly hidden again after shouting.
Even though the person had vanished, their words had sent ripples through the crowd.
From all directions, voices soon began to rise.
Without exception, they either accused Electro of murdering Lafayette or claimed that Spider-Man couldn't be trusted.
But underneath it all, there was one clear message—they no longer welcomed Max.
The Electro Community, which Max Dillon had painstakingly built and risked his life to protect, had ultimately turned its back on him.
This sudden change left Electro, who had just been thrilled to join the Interdimensional Task Force, standing there in a daze, his smile vanishing.
Peter stepped forward and patted him on the shoulder. "If they don't welcome us, then let's just leave."
"...Yeah." Electro nodded, disappointment evident in his voice.
Fortunately, he had come here to say goodbye anyway.
Though it felt like a betrayal, the sting didn't last long.
Perhaps, deep down, part of his decision had already been influenced by how cold these people had become.
After that, Peter didn't leave this world right away.
He headed to the outskirts of New York City and summoned the Pteranodon Norman. Then, along with Gwen and Electro, he took off on its back, flying toward a specific destination.
His goal was a vast forest in the heart of Central America.
The Sorcerer Supreme of the Spectacular Universe had told him that this was where the Supreme Sanctum of their world was located.
Since Spectacular Universe-2 was a twin to the Spectacular Universe, logically, this should hold true here as well.
Peter wanted to find this universe's Doctor Strange and ask him some questions.
However, the journey was incredibly long.
The direct distance between their starting point and their destination was 3,500 kilometers. Even for the Pteranodon Norman, which was said to fly endlessly without landing, this was a significant challenge.
Fortunately, they weren't in a hurry.
Taking breaks along the way, they flew for seven days before finally reaching their destination.
What lay before them was a solitary peak rising from the vast forest.
But when Peter landed, all he found was ruins—no trace of this universe's Doctor Strange.
It was clear that the Supreme Sanctum and Doctor Strange had once existed in this world. But for some reason, the Sanctum had been destroyed, leaving only rubble behind. And as for Doctor Strange… he was most likely dead.
"Could it be that Nathaniel Richards targeted him?" Peter speculated.
But he quickly dismissed the idea.
According to the Spectacular Doctor Strange, their universe had been marked because he had astral projected too far and accidentally collided with Nathaniel Richards.
That had been an individual mistake—something that couldn't be applied across the multiverse.
After all, from the perspective of countless worlds, the Spectacular Doctor Strange and the Spectacular Doctor Strange-2 were not the same person.
As this thought crossed his mind, Peter couldn't help but recall the deep sense of sorrow he and Gwen had felt upon entering this universe.
Could it be related to this?
