Thalina had vanished without a trace. And now that her friend was back, Zeriah could finally let go of her worry, but first she had to be sure.
She finally reached the door, pausing for only a moment before lifting her hand and knocking gently.

Thalina had just finished tucking Zorath into bed, her fingers barely lifting from his forehead as she attempted to use her powers to ease his rest.
She wasn't sure if it had worked.
But for now, at least, he looked peaceful.
His breathing had evened out, his muscles no longer locked in tension. The exhaustion had won over his grief, pulling him into a deep, quiet sleep.
Thalina exhaled softly, brushing a stray lock of hair from his face before standing. Her body ached, but she ignored it, turning toward the door just as the soft knock echoed through the room.
Her eyes flickered toward it.
