"My impression of Petunia when I went to that place to get Harry is that she still has not let go of the jealousy that you were magical and she is not."
Lily sighed. "I suppose mum and dad didn't help it any that they were always so proud that their daughter was magical and I know I took advantage of that from time to time too."
"Well, Petunia could have chosen to be different too," Severus pointed out. "Her path was not set in stone."
"I would like to see my nephew, Dudley too. I would guess he's spoiled rotten from what Harry and Minerva have said, but I still would like to meet him."
Severus chuckled. "The night I came to pick up Harry; he looked scared enough to pee his pants. I guess he thought I was going to turn them into toads."
"That's probably what his parents told him."
Tita came in to announce that dinner was served in the formal dining room. Lily got up. "You did it last time so I'll go up and let Harry know dinner is ready."
"I will wait for you in the dining room then. Harry knows the way."
Lily came back with Harry a few minutes later. Severus sat at the head of the table, but seated Lily on his right and Harry on his left. Over the last five months Harry had grown enough that he didn't need Severus to lengthen the height of his chair anymore.
Dinner was delicious and plentiful. Harry had gotten so he couldn't remember how hungry he'd been when he lived with the Dursley's.
"How is your homework coming, Harry?" Lily asked.
"Really good, Mum. I've just got my essay in Herbology left to write and then I'll be done with my homework except for assigned readings. The professors didn't load us down with homework like I thought they would," He kidded his dad
"Well, we do not like grading a ton of essays any more that you like writing them," Severus grinned. "But do not mention I told you that."
"Promise, Dad," Harry said with a grin.
The next morning right after breakfast, Severus began brewing the Familia Sanguis potion. As he and Lily diced or minced the ingredients, Harry made sure the cauldron was exactly the right temperature. As they began adding the ingredients, Harry realized what a complex potion it actually was. He followed the stirring direction exactly. Seven stirs counter-clockwise plus one stir clockwise and twelve stirs clockwise divided by one counter-clockwise stir after the first six clockwise stirs and one after the second six. Severus carefully studied the results with the book containing the recipe in front of him. The color and consistency were exactly as called for in the recipe. "It looks exactly how its' supposed to look and now it needs to set for 24 hours," Severus said. He placed the potion in stasis and covered the cauldron with a lid.
"We did good, huh Dad?"
"You and your mother did very well and your mother has not lost her touch for excellence in potions."
Lily's cheeks turned pink. "Thanks, Sev."
"I can't wait to not to look like James anymore," Harry proclaimed. "I'm so tired of people, Hagrid especially, always telling me I look exactly like him and expecting me to behave like him. I'm me! Not a miniature version of him!"
Severus smiled at Harry's eagerness. He would need to go check on the potion in four hours and add ten drops of his blood to it.
"I'm going to go upstairs and write my essay for Herbology. We're studying about Russian Moonflowers and Professor Sprout assigned us an essay on their properties and usages. Do you think there might be a book in the library here that might have different information?"
"Most likely as there is an entire section on Herbology. I'll look while you start your essay."
"Thanks, Dad," Harry said, running up the staircase.
"Don't run!" Severus and Lily shouted together and then they both laughed.
Severus went into the library with Lily following him.
"Good afternoon, Severus," a somewhat imperious voice said.
"Good afternoon, Grandfather," Severus said bowing his head slightly.
"Who is the young lady you have with you?" His grandmother wanted to know.
"Lily, may I present my grandparents, Tiberius Maximilian and Audra Isabella Prince. Grandfather and Grandmother, may I present Miss Lily Evans."
"It's very nice to meet you, Lily," Audra said. "Are you a professor at Hogwarts too?"
"I'm studying with Professor Flitwick for my mastery in Charms," Lily replied.
"My son is also here. I adopted him in August. You can meet him later, but right now he is upstairs completing his homework."
"We have a new great-grandson? How thrilling!" Audra exclaimed. "We're looking forward to meeting him!"
"Lily is his mother," Severus added. "Harry is a first year and was sorted into Ravenclaw. He is exceptionally bright and very good at Potions, Defense, and Herbology."
"That was my house too," Audra said in obvious delight.
Tiberius gave Severus a look as if he knew they wasn't being told the entire story, but Severus ignored it. "We just came in to look at the Herbology books. Harry is writing an essay on Russian Moonflowers and wants to include different information than is in his textbook."
"The books are cataloged in alphabetical order first by subject and then by author," Tiberius directed.
"Thank you," Severus replied, again with a slight bow. "I will speak with you both later."
Lily and he searched the Herbology section for books mentioning Russian Moonflowers. Lily finally found one with a substantial section on it. "Do you think this one will do?"
Severus glanced through the section. "Yes, this should do fine. It probably has much more information than his textbook has.
Severus took the book upstairs to Harry. "I should probably warn you. My grandparents are anxious to meet you. They are a bit old-fashioned and strict, but do not let them scare you."
