Solas was many things.
He was a warrior. One of the few people who had survived the Academy of Solaria the way it had used to be. Back when his parents had figured out that if someone didn't die in there, then that someone was going to become a powerhouse.
Then there had been the sad thing about him being a cold bastard.
He didn't feel sad about it, most days.
But on days like this, when he saw Pan unharmed, with a crown on his brow that should be his, he felt sad.
Because Pan had survived on his own. Had gotten the quest done with and saved the land.
Had chosen good over evil, just like always.
Solas knew that he didn't have it in him to do the same. Knew better than most that he would have butchered his way out of there.
Pan's light was blinding him. He was Brandon's treasure, and…

"Doran!" Pan's yell was yet another dagger in Solas' heart. He heard running footsteps.
