A day after the clash with the vampires, the city felt much calmer. There were no more bodies found on the streets or reports of kidnappings. Moreover, Adrian had been discharged from the hospital after receiving treatment.
"Wow, our hero is back on his feet!" Paul exclaimed as he arrived with John to pick him up.
"Oh, great. "Why are you guys here? "You're ruining my mood!" Adrian replied lazily.
"Hey, relax. "We're not here to drag you on patrol, just make sure you get home safely," John chuckled.
Adrian smirked. That day marked his last in the hospital. His wounds had healed enough, and he only needed outpatient care. Since Damien was busy with police matters, John and Paul were assigned to pick him up.
After handling all the paperwork, John pushed a wheelchair toward him. "Come on, sit here!" he said.
Adrian eyed the wheelchair with clear disinterest. "My legs are fine. The only thing injured was my back. Don't be dramatic," he said casually.
