Jake, Mike, and I were all part of the same small group. On paper, we were supposed to be a bunch of intellectuals watching philosophical films and debating their meanings. In reality? It was just an excuse to get drunk together.
"Why the hell is Kelly so wasted?"
"No clue. She went hard as fuck today."
Our first drinking session in a while was loud as hell, and the chaos was overwhelming. I barely even greeted anyone before settling into a corner with Mike, preferring to keep a low profile.

"Him? He's busy showing off to the freshmen."
