After my body had fully recovered, Austin had originally planned to honor our agreement and take me on that long-awaited trip to Japan. However, his schedule was packed with urgent business matters. On the very day we were supposed to depart, with our bags packed and tickets in hand, an unexpected crisis forced him to cancel our flights at the last minute. Left with no other options, I returned to my regular work routine, where I happened to meet Megan - a bright-eyed HR associate about my age who had recently joined the company.
