There are ten different elements and each of those elements is categorized in three ways, Basic, Advanced and finally Special.
But there is another category and a completely different set of elements outside of the known elements.
"Fusion Element"
Just as the name suggests, a fusion element is created by mixing two different elements.
There were many theories about fusion elements but after conducting experiments, researchers came to a conclusion.
Two elements can't be fused together.
This was the universal truth until Arthur Nightingale arrived.

Lucas knew from reading 'The Last Horizon' why Arthur Nightingale reached the pinnacle of power.
Arthur's unique element, Voidfire was an element outside of the three known categories since his element was created by fusing two elements.
When Arthur awakened as an Esper, he unknowingly fused two different elements together.
Because Arthur fused Darkness and Fire together. He got himself a unique element, Voidfire.
Voidfire made Arthur the strongest among the four species that are on earth and this also helped him go against 'The One in the Boiling Abyss'

Seeing Arthur kill one of the hounds, the other four charged at once.
"Let's fight now!!"
Dean planted his feet firmly on the cracked pavement, lifting his fists. The ground trembled beneath him as spikes of earth erupted, blocking two hounds mid leap.
Boom!!!
The impact sent shockwaves through the street, rubble scattering in all directions.
Before the trapped creatures could react, Sasha moved.
Her form blurred as she vanished into the air, moving like a shadow. Wind trailed behind her and in a flash, she reappeared behind one of the hounds,
Twin daggers glinting under the glow of the burning city.
Slash!!!
Her blades carved through the beast's neck. Unlike Lucas's attack, her wind infused daggers seemed to be working fine. The creature shuddered, its body flickering as it crumbled away.
Growl!!!!
Seeing three hounds die, the remaining two hounds backed away. They were growling, their violet eyes narrowing as they searched for an opportunity.
One of the hounds melted into the shadows, reappearing directly behind Lia.
"A perfect flank!!"
Lia barely had time to react to the hound.
But,
Ryker saw it first.
"Sacrificial Restoration"
With a flick of his wrist, he activated his skill.
Swish!!!
An arrow made out of radiant energy shot directly into the hound's face. The creature howled in agony, its entire body searing as if burned by the sun.
Lia, realizing her opening, raised her hands.
"Inferno Surge"
A pillar of flames erupted from Lia's fingertips, surging toward the hound in a blinding wave, consuming the stunned creature whole. It shrieked, twisting in pain before collapsing into ash.

Shriek!!!
The final Void Hound sensed its doom. It let out an ear piercing screech before dashing straight for Lucas.
It moved faster than before, its form blurring. It had adapted again.
Slash!!!
Lucas reacted too late.
Just as the hound's claws extended, aiming straight for Lucas's throat,
A bolt of black energy tore through the hound's chest.
The beast froze.
Its glowing violet eyes flickered.
Then, they died out.
"...."
"...."
Its body collapsed, disintegrating into dust.
Seeing this, Ryker's gaze snapped toward the rooftop across the street.
A figure stood there, half hidden in shadow.
A mask. A flowing black cloak.
And then,
The figure vanished.
Ugh!!!
Lucas, catching his breath turned to Ryker.
"Did you see that?" he asked, still gripping his spear.
"See what?"
"You're probably seeing things."
Hearing Ryker's reply, Lucas frowned but he didn't push further.
The battle was over. But Ryker knew this was only the beginning.

Ryker and the rest of his team entered the building.
"Found the civilian here!!"
Lia shouted, getting the attention of the rest of the team. After looking around for some time, they found the civilian or so they thought.
When Ryker arrived with the rest of the team, they found an injured soldier instead.
"Ryker."
Arthur looked at Ryker. He didn't need to say anything more. Ryker knew what he had to do.
"Sacrificial Restoration"
A radiant glow escaped from Ryker's hands as he began healing the soldier.
"No... No."
The soldier grabbed Ryker by the collar and said,
"Don't do it…."
"Be….. Be….. care…..ful of the…. soldiers."
Before Ryker could start healing again, the soldier died.
"He's dead..." Ryker said in a low tone.
Shit!!!
"Why did he warn us about the soldiers?" Lia asked in a curious tone.
"What happened, happened."
"We can't save everyone. We need to move."
"And from now on, we need to be extra careful," Arthur told the rest of his team.
Ryker got up from the ground.
"Yeah, let's move. We can't stay here."
Ryker and the rest of his team left the broken building.

"Sasha, can you scout around to see if you can find anything?" Ryker asked Sasha.
All of them were back in their positions.
Lucas, Arthur and Dean in the front.
Lia and Ryker in the back.
Their formation was the same as they had agreed before. Ryker and the rest of his team navigated through the broken city roads.
As they moved through the city,
"I sense a presence at twelve o'clock, behind that car," Arthur suddenly said.
Hearing him, all of them started moving slowly toward the car. As they reached it carefully,
They found an unconscious child with his leg broken in two places.
"Ryker, heal him. We'll be on guard."
Arthur gave Ryker a task while the rest of them remained alert, unsure of what might happen.
"Alright."
"Sacrificial Restoration"
Ryker started healing the child while the rest of them scanned for possible hostiles.

"Healing is done. Looks like the kid is still unconscious."
Ryker confirmed that he had finished healing.
"We need to move. Fast." Arthur said as he stared at something in the distance.
"Dean, do you know where this simulation is taking place?" Lia asked Dean. She knew that, despite his carefree nature. He was more knowledgeable about history than anyone.
Dean smirked.
"From the beasts we fought and the city we're in, I'd say it's Sector 7."
Sector 7 one of the many cities on the human continent. The entire situation was taking place in an alternate version of the city, Sector 7.
"We have a survivor. We need a place to create our base camp."
"From there, we need to rescue and protect as many civilians as we can." Ryker proposed as he picked up the child in his arms.
"There's a hospital close by. We can make it our base camp." Sasha said as she suddenly appeared in front of Arthur.
"Are you done scouting?" Lia asked Sasha as she walked up to her.
"Yeah."
"I haven't seen any monsters around, so it's relatively safe."
"Alright then."
"Lead the way, Sasha."
Ryker asked Sasha to lead the way as they followed her from behind.
