After she disappeared before him completely, Nova sighed, running a hand down his face as he thought about everything so far; all he wanted was a day, though that seemed impossible by now.
"First, the bratty kid and her cryptic responses, now tree spirits giving me magical seeds... I miss the days when my problems were just undead and bounty posters, which was only a few days ago. Undead are easier to deal with. I am starting to feel that way now. Something must be wrong with me," he muttered.
He started back the way he came, but while walking, he noticed the once-wild forest path was no longer chaotic and tangled. A clear trail now stretched before him, almost glowing faintly under the soft light filtering through the canopy.
The very air around him had shifted—it no longer pressed heavily against his shoulders but carried a calm hum, as if the woods themselves recognized his presence and he took in the air, his body almost relaxing.
