Chapter 7 - A cold night.

" Grandma,.. it's raining hard. Please let me get inside so as not to catch a cold! " Asher said. Her voice was very pleading, the rain was slowly gaining its intensity over the and standing under its shade with no coverage made her in harms of catching a cold.

" You disgrace. " The old Madame spat, she had a cringed expression like seeing a piece of useless junk. Her tone had always been this harsh when addressing Asher, ever since the beginning of this scandal. Her presence seems to disgust her even more than before.

" Grandma please, I was out- - " Asher tried to explain her whereabouts, the innocent look she had always kept on her face was one of the reasons this old woman hated her even more.

" Shut up! Who asked you to say where you were, did you think twice before tarnishing our name in your scandalous scene. " The old Madame yelled at her. The woman's voice was so loud that it was the embodiment of the thunder still about to fall from the sky.

Sure enough this scene had surely drew the attention of the neighbors all over the neighborhood. After all the entire neighborhood had been keeping an eye on the Reichard family, ever since the advent of this incident. The pointing, stares and little bit of extra attention they got over the week had truly made the old Madame fed up.

" Grandma, it wasn't as you thought it was. " Asher pleaded with the old woman, seeing that she wasn't giving her a chance to explain herself. Asher moved closer towards her, " grandma,.. it's not as you think- - " her words were cut short with a hard slap from the old Madame, and what followed was a hard push from the old woman.

" Ah,.. I,.. I didn't do anything grandma. " Asher sobs, this sort of treatment had been continuous since the week had begun. Right now she fell down on the cold and wet ground, the rain had already started into a full blown storm.

" Grandma please, ask uncle Ridge,.. he asked me to go- - "

" You despicable girl, still calling Ridge's name after shamelessly going out to some other of our lovers. " The old Madame yelled, her strong voice raced through the rainy night. Causing the indignant Asher to sob even more from injustice, picking herself up from the ground.

Her uncle had asked her to go meet up with a lawyer, someone who could help regarding her circumstances. Though Asher wanted to prove her innocence regarding all the claims, and what better way of doing it than going to the law. Right now she knew it was only through proper evidence when seeking the court, and the whole incident seemed likely to be a misunderstanding. Which she hopes one day will be resolved, and with someone who will actually come out and apologize for slander.

The old Madame glared at the young woman beating up by the rain, she had a look of no remorse whatsoever in her eyes. Her lips made a wicked sneer which shows she wasn't going to listen to the young woman under the rain.

" Grandma please, punish me by any other means. But please, let me inside,... " She cried, running towards the gate of the mansion.

" Get out of here, you awful woman. " Old Madame said, pulling at the little gate through which she stood.

" Grandma,.. please,.. " Asher clung onto the gates. She banged at it, hoping to alert uncle Ridge who had asked her to go see the man.

" Get out of here! " Old Madame, walked away from the gates. She got into the house where she saw her son-in-law Ridge, placing back and forth as though worried.

" Mother how was it? " Ridge asked in agitation, his voice gave him away from the worry facade he tried to show in the presence of the househelps.

" That filthy girl won't step foot into this house again. " The old Madame said, walking past Ridge and into the living room.

" Do I make myself clear! "

" Yes Madame. " The househelps all chorused, shaking with fear and pity from how wrong they felt the young Miss being treated.

From the outside, Asher still stood at the gate of the house. She stood against the tall gates, banging against it repeatedly with each of her strike slowly reducing in momentum.

" Grandma,.. uncle Ridge! Please,.. open the gates. " Asher's weak voice still tried to get through into the mansion.

" Open the gates,.. " Asher sobs, weakly falling into the ground. The rain didn't make it easy for her one bit, washing her drained with utter cold from the atmosphere. Asher was very weak, she tried to stand up and get under a shade at least from the rain.

Right now the entire neighbors had their ears peeled, with eyes between their windows watching the scene which transpired in the Reichard mansion.

Soon Asher had wandered away from the house into the street. She moved her feeble body under the harsh rain, fully drenched with wet clothes clogging her body while dragging herself away from the neighborhood of her childhood. That same home had now kicked her out, away from where she thought was her home in a deserted street under a rainy night with nowhere to go.

The scene was a perfect depiction of a rainy night in Tyle city. And the silhouette of a petite woman walked under the rain in the empty street, amidst the heavy beating and showering droplets. She dragged her weary herself through the cold and judging streets fully drenched as a lifeless corpse pushed around.

Her clothes stuck to her from the rain, with eyes devoid of an actual sight. Crossing the deserted roads across the street, when a car collided into her, falling unconscious on the wet road.

Standing before the car, the sight in her eyes before falling unconscious was of a sharp flashing lights of death, and she stood just at the jaws of death itself. Perhaps the cold had struck very hard on her from the long hours under the rain to think of a possibly better ways than to give up to death.
