"Why would you avoid answering my calls, Kalix?" Sylvester asked, his fuming gaze boring into his grandson. Kalix, however, remained composed—almost too composed for someone who had just shaken the entire world with his marriage announcement.
"Wasn't it obvious enough? I already knew what you would say," Kalix replied in a bland tone, making Sylvester's scowl deepen.
"You dared to risk their lives with your reckless announcement. Do you even realize what that means?" Sylvester demanded.
He hadn't expected Kalix to take such a bold step, yet the man had done exactly the opposite of what he had assumed.
Kalix's expression darkened at the remark. He had already considered every possible consequence, yet hearing it thrown back in his face only fueled his frustration.
Sensing the tension between them, Winter decided to step in. "We've already considered everything, Mr. Andreas—"
"It's Grandpa to you… now," Sylvester cut her off.
Winter's lips twitched as she fought back a smile.
