Since Kalix had decided to work from home, Sean took it upon himself to handle matters at the company in his absence. After finalizing a deal with clients the day before, he forwarded an invoice to Kalix along with key points they were looking forward to working on.
Sean had just finished drafting a file when his phone began to ring.
He wasn't one to entertain calls unless they were work-related, but today was an exception; the caller was none other than Gina.
Pausing his work, Sean took a deep breath before answering.
"Are you busy?" Gina asked, skipping any formalities. Her tone was serious and focused, making Sean lean back in his chair with a smile.
"I... think so," he replied dramatically, earning a frustrated grunt from her.
"How is that possible when your boss isn't even at work today?" She countered, but the moment the words left her mouth, she regretted them.
She hadn't meant to blurt that out.
