Chapter 115 - 115: Alchemy Potions Are Ready!

Alchemy potions, redstone, and enchantments.

Before unlocking any of the truly overpowered modpacks, these three things were undoubtedly the pinnacle of enhancements in the MC world.

Enchantments provided individual combat prowess—Fire Protection alone was enough to make Hu Tao break down in frustration.

Redstone technology revolutionized raw strength, offering everything from large-scale bombers capable of wiping out entire areas to fully automated systems that liberated manpower.

Ningguang and the others had already witnessed the sheer power of redstone technology firsthand.

As for enchantments…

Right now, Ganyu was off somewhere in Teyvat testing out her Flame-infused, Infinity-enchanted bow, having a great time triggering Melt reactions on her own.

And then there were alchemy potions…

Back in the Nether, Ningguang had heard Ryen talk about them.

But now, they were finally going to see these "even more ridiculous" things in action.

Invisibility, enhanced strength, instant damage, instant healing, weakness infliction—these potions gave ordinary people the opportunity to wield power comparable to the Vision-bearers of Teyvat.

Since they were still at the base, Ryen only planned to brew some simple potions for the Millelith to use in emergencies.

He wasn't going to build a full-fledged alchemy workshop just yet.

That would come later—back on the floating island.

By then, he'd set up a Nether Wart farm and mass-produce potions on an industrial scale.

For now, a single cauldron and a brewing stand would suffice.

He had plenty of Nether Wart, and all the necessary alchemical ingredients were in his inventory.

As Ryen stared at the brewing stand before him, he found himself deep in thought.

"Ryen?"

Nahida, holding his hand, tilted her head curiously.

"Are you troubled by something?"

Ryen snapped out of his thoughts and shook his head.

"Not really, I was just thinking about which potion to brew first."

"What kinds of potions can we make right now?"

Ningguang had already pulled out her notebook, ready to take detailed notes.

Ryen closed his eyes, sifting through his memory.

The problem with alchemy potions was that there were so many combinations, and he didn't have a crafting guide on hand.

Without a system menu showing him the recipes, he had to rely purely on memory.

After a brief silence, he said:

"There are three basic types of potions—regular drinkable potions, splash potions that break on impact and apply their effects in an area…"

"And lingering potions, which we can't make yet."

At this, Ningguang raised an eyebrow in curiosity.

"We can't make them yet?"

"Yeah. Lingering potions create a cloud of effects that persist in an area after they're thrown."

"They have very unique and powerful applications, but unfortunately…"

Ryen sighed.

"They require a special ingredient—Dragon's Breath."

"Dragon's Breath?!"

Ningguang's eyes widened slightly.

"You mean from the Ender Dragon?"

"Exactly. And right now, we're nowhere near ready to explore the End."

Ryen casually dismissed the topic, not wanting to go into too much detail.

Lingering potions were undeniably useful, but they weren't something they needed to worry about yet.

As for the Ender Dragon, Ryen wasn't planning to fight it until he at least had a full set of enchanted diamond armor.

Ningguang understood—if it was connected to the Ender Dragon, then it had to be something extremely powerful.

She made a note in her journal, circling the words before looking back at Ryen expectantly.

"So, what can we make right now?"

Ryen paused for a moment, then listed them off like a master craftsman:

"Swiftness potion, leaping potion, strength potion, slowness potion, healing potion, poison potion…"

"Instant damage, regeneration, fire resistance, water breathing, night vision, invisibility, and weakness."

"That's about it for now."

He paused again before adding with a smirk:

"And just to be clear, while I've listed all these potions, that doesn't mean I encourage any of you to drink things like poison or weakness potions."

"I mean, that'd be the same as just… poisoning yourself. No one would be that dumb, right?"

Ryen chuckled, making a lighthearted joke.

The others also laughed and nodded in agreement.

"Who would be that stupid? Drinking something you know is poisonous?"

Hu Tao crossed her arms confidently.

But then, everyone gave her a strange look.

Ryen and the others hadn't forgotten—just a few days ago, Hu Tao had tried to get them to taste her "Yoohoo Grand Parade" special dish.

That thing looked toxic.

She was literally the last person who should be saying anything about eating suspicious substances.

Realizing this, Hu Tao scowled and shot Ryen a glare.

"What?! It's not my fault you guys don't appreciate the refined taste of the Yoohoo Grand Parade! Xiangling loved it, okay?"

Her words immediately made Ryen think of something.

If Xiangling ever came to the MC world, he was definitely giving her a full day of training first.

She needed to understand the rules:

Rotten flesh? Not food.

Magma cream? Not food.

Ghast tears? Absolutely not food.

Knowing her, she might actually try to turn rotten flesh into some kind of exotic dish.

And that… would truly be a nightmare.

Ryen retracted his gaze and added,

"To brew splash potions, we'll need to add gunpowder to the brewing stand during the process."

"Of course, that's just how things work in this world. Once we return to Teyvat, even regular drinkable potions might have splash effects when shattered."

"So… what do you all think we should start with?"

Hearing this, everyone turned their eyes toward Ningguang.

This entire endeavor was meant to produce a batch of potions for the Millelith to experiment with, and when it came to overall planning, Ningguang was undoubtedly the most suited for the task.

After thinking for a moment, she spoke softly,

"Strength, Swiftness, Jump Boost, and Healing—let's start with these four."

"Additionally, if possible, I'd like to craft one Invisibility Potion to test its effects."

Ryen chuckled and nodded.

"No problem. Get ready to record the process."

At first glance, alchemy might seem less intricate than Redstone engineering, as it doesn't require a complex interplay of circuits.

However, the truth was that alchemy was just as complicated in its own right.

Of course, once familiarized, everything became much easier.

Ryen first prepared a large batch of water bottles and placed them, along with Nether Wart, into the brewing stand.

He also made sure to explain the correct placement to everyone.

Before long, more than twenty Awkward Potions were ready.

Back in the Nether Fortress, Ryen had only managed to gather less than a full stack of Nether Wart.

Still, once planted, they could be farmed indefinitely.

"For the Strength Potion, we start by combining an Awkward Potion with Blaze Powder in the brewing stand."

"At this stage, it's only a basic Strength Potion."

"We have two options next—adding Redstone to extend the duration or adding Glowstone Dust to enhance the potion's potency."

"The same logic applies to other potions. For now, I'll just add Redstone to extend the time."

"Later, when I set up additional brewing stands at the estate, I'll share the full alchemy recipes with you."

Holding the freshly brewed Strength Potion in his hand, Ryen continued,

"Alchemy, like Redstone engineering, requires practice to master."

"Our ingredients are currently limited, but once I establish a Nether Wart farm and gather more Nether materials, I'll let you experiment with brewing on your own."

"For now, just follow the steps I show you."

Once Ningguang finished recording everything, Ryen proceeded to brew Swiftness, Jump Boost, and Healing Potions.

The required ingredients weren't difficult to obtain—Sugar, Rabbit's Foot, and Glistering Melon Slices.

Except for the Glistering Melon Slices, the base already had plenty of the other materials.

As for the melon slices…

Well, they were just a combination of melon and gold nuggets.

After the Nether expedition, Ryen had more gold than he knew what to do with—enough that dumping it into Teyvat's economy might even destabilize the entire Mora system.

Ningguang carefully recorded each recipe and, under Ryen's guidance, brewed a batch herself.

With her intelligence, that was enough for her to grasp the basics of potion-making.

"Next up, the Invisibility Potion…"

Before Ryen could continue, a series of explosions erupted outside.

Loud cheers from the Millelith and miners followed.

People were shouting excitedly, taking turns at something.

It seemed like another wave of pillagers had arrived.

But this time, nobody inside was fazed.

Pillagers were no longer a threat, and the Redstone Cannons were already well understood.

If they wanted to play with them, they could always build their own later.

For now, learning alchemy took priority.

Ryen quickly refocused and continued,

"Invisibility Potions require a special ingredient—Fermented Spider Eye."

"???"

Ningguang froze for a moment, pursing her lips before finally speaking,

"S… Spider Eye?"

Ryen smiled and nodded.

"What? Can't handle it?"

Ningguang was silent for a few seconds before shaking her head.

"It's fine. I just wasn't expecting that. It's just a spider eye. We've already used bone meal, so it's nothing to fuss over."

"Besides, Xiangling would probably turn even Slime Condensate into a dish. Brewing potions with spider eyes isn't a big deal."

Hearing this, Ryen nodded in satisfaction.

By now, Ningguang and the others had truly adapted to this world.

They were no longer like before—when even bone meal, such a useful material, made them hesitant.

"To make Fermented Spider Eye, you need to combine Spider Eye, Brown Mushroom, and Sugar on a crafting table."

"The correct placement is like this—make sure you remember it."

"Once we have Fermented Spider Eye, the next step is to brew a Night Vision Potion by combining an Awkward Potion with a Golden Carrot."

"After that, we add the Fermented Spider Eye into the brewing stand, then follow up with Redstone to extend the duration."

"By the end, we'll have an Invisibility Potion that lasts for eight minutes."

Before long, the brewing stand finished its process, and the freshly made Invisibility Potion was ready.

Ryen held it up, swishing the liquid inside with a slight smile.

"This is an Invisibility Potion. Drink it, and as long as you're not wearing armor, your body will become invisible for eight minutes."

"During that time, you'll leave no visual trace, and monsters won't detect you. Similarly, I believe that in Teyvat, most magical creatures without special perception abilities also won't be able to detect you."

"However, let me remind you—Invisibility Potions aren't perfect. You'll still make noise when moving."

"To a powerful individual, it only makes it harder for them to confirm your identity, but pinpointing your general location wouldn't be too difficult."

"Don't go thinking that drinking an Invisibility Potion makes you untouchable against the strong."

Hearing this, everyone nodded in understanding.

They already knew this.

For true powerhouses, invisibility didn't make much of a difference.

Take Zhongli, for example.

Even if someone was invisible, did that mean he wouldn't know where they were?

At most, he wouldn't be able to immediately identify them.

But as the God of War, Zhongli could defeat an invisible opponent with his eyes closed.

For top-tier warriors, it held little strategic value.

However, in large-scale battles at the lower or mid-tier levels, the implications were massive.

Ningguang never expected the Millelith to fight gods.

But with these potions, they could at least disrupt enemy forces or harass the stronger combatants of Teyvat.

And since potions were so easy to mass-produce, they could flood the battlefield with them.

While top-tier combat remained unchanged, at the lower and middle levels…

It would be a game-changer.

It was just like the current war in Inazuma between the Resistance and the Shogunate.

Without a doubt, both Kujou Sara and Sangonomiya Kokomi would be more than willing to pay a hefty sum for a batch of Invisibility Potions.

This was yet another foolproof business opportunity.
