Chapter 22 - A Symphony of Crimson Light

Arthur barely had time to react before A massive fist came barreling towards his shoulder, his arm. Broken in an instant. He threw his body sideways, dodging by a fraction, but the shockwave still sent him skidding across the ice, his broken arm screaming in agony. He gasped for breath, forcing himself back onto his feet as the four-armed Frost Elf Commander advanced, each of his limbs flexing in anticipation of another strike.

The battlefield around them was a chaos of blood and ice. Arthur caught a glimpse of Adora, locked in a deadly struggle with the smaller wolf. She was fast, striking with bursts of golden light, but she was getting battered, her body accumulating wounds. Yet she held her own, defiant against the beast. Meanwhile, the enormous five-meter wolf battled the other Frost Elf Commander, each blow shaking the very earth beneath them.

Arthur gritted his teeth, refocusing. His right arm was still shattered, hanging limp at his side. He couldn't regenerate fast enough while still in the fight, not without more blood. And worse, his opponent wasn't giving him a moment's rest.

A gigantic shadow loomed over him.

Arthur instinctively leaped forward, barely evading a downward strike. The Frost Elf Commander's fist slammed into the ice where he had just been lying, sending shards flying in all directions. Arthur hit the ground in a roll, pain lancing through his body as he landed hard on his wounded side.

The Commander wasted no time, lunging at him with relentless aggression. Each strike was precise and devastating, pushing Arthur back with bone-shattering force. He tried to parry, tried to dodge, but the overwhelming power of the four-armed juggernaut was too much. His muscles screamed, his bones creaked, and then...

Crack.

Arthur's left leg crumpled under a direct hit, the bones shattering as he collapsed onto the blood-soaked snow. His vision blurred with agony. His breath came in ragged gasps as he clawed at the ice, trying to get up. But his leg was useless now, crushed beyond repair without immediate regeneration. The world tilted around him as his predator loomed over him.

A deep chuckle rumbled from the Frost Elf Commander. He raised one of his four fists for the final blow.

Arthur closed his eyes. He let his body go slack. His chest rose weakly, a shallow, dying breath. He stopped moving entirely, his body still, his heart slowing.

The Commander hesitated, eyeing him suspiciously. Then, with a satisfied grunt, he turned away.

Arthur moved.

Pushing himself with his remaining leg and all his might off the ground in the direction of the Commander he latched onto the Commander's leg with unnatural speed, sinking his teeth deep into the frozen flesh. The taste of blood flooded his mouth—rich, powerful, intoxicating. His body instantly reacted, his wounds beginning to mend, strength surging back into his limbs.

The Commander roared in fury, his body convulsing as Arthur drained him. But before Arthur could take more, a massive boot slammed into his stomach.

Arthur felt his ribs implode, his organs twisting and rupturing under the impact. His body was sent hurtling through the air like a ragdoll, crashing into the frozen ground with a sickening thud. Pain wracked his entire form, blood bubbling up in his throat as his vision darkened.

He was barely alive.

But in his mouth—

The blood.

Even as his body screamed in agony, his lips curled into a weak smile. He forced himself to swallow, the thick crimson nectar sliding down his throat. The effect was immediate. His shredded organs knit themselves back together, his broken bones fused, and his body surged with new vitality.

The Commander staggered back, panting, glaring at him with a mixture of rage and disbelief. He wiped his leg, where a chunk of his flesh had been torn away, his face twisted in fury.

Arthur stood, cracking his neck, his eyes glowing with a newfound, unnatural light.

Arthur has knew only a miniscule amount about his Ability Blood Feast, since he got the ability, he asked himself many things...

How strong would it allow him to get? Why was he getting stronger through consuming blood or the body of an enemy?

How could his body regenerate from wounds and even regenerate new limbs, but that were questions for when the battle would be over...

And the battle was far from over.

Just as the Ogre Commander turned away, ready to assist his fellow Commander in finishing off Adora, the air behind him shimmered.

A figure formed out of the mist and blood.

It was not physically Arthur.

No, it was something else.

A being made of pure crimson energy, shifting like liquid fire, its shape barely human, its presence suffocating.

Arthur grinned, wiping the blood from his lips.

"Now we're on equal terms again."

The four-armed frost commander let out a harrowing and scary growl of rage which shattered the ground around him.

"Oooh scary..." Arthur smirked

And just a second later he dashed into the direction of the orc while summoning the Wolf Fang, he took it and used it as a ripping weapon, even though it would probably not penetrate the skin of the Elf.

The Commander did a hook and Arthur blocked the punch with two arms, sending an impact through his body he was pushed back and while loosing his footing, he flew through the air like a cannon ball and crashed into an ice spike.

Arthur groaned, pain flooding every nerve, but he forced himself up. Blood dripped from his lips, but he grinned.

He sprinted forward, sacrificing both his arms, letting them be caught in the commander's massive grip. With one final push of power, Arthur roared and thrust Wolf Fang directly into the elf's eye, the serrated blade piercing through frozen flesh, sinking deep into the skull. The commander howled in agony, staggering back.

Arthur didn't stop. He filled his mouth completely with blood, letting the taste of battle fuel his madness. He allowed himself to be caught—beheaded in an instant.

Just before hos head left his body, he swallowed the blood.

Darkness.

Then—light.

His body reformed. From his neck small blood threads connected it back to his body, his bones were regenerating, flesh knitting back together. A monstrous energy surged through him as he came back to life, stronger than ever.

Before the commander could react, Arthur materialized behind him. His regenerated hands wrapped around the elf's skull.

With one final, crushing motion—

He shattered it.

The four-armed frost elf collapsed, lifeless.

[ You have killed a Common Stalker, Frost Commander.]

Arthur stood amidst the carnage, breathless, covered in blood. He turned to the battlefield, his gaze locking onto the remaining enemies.

Adora was battered in bruises and her left arm was covered in blood as if it was cut a thousand times.

She was barely standing, facing the only remaining Ice elf commander. The two ice wolves took an escape but were killed by Adora and the remaining Frost Commander.

Arthurs now crimson eyes locked onto the Sillouette of the Big Ice elf commander, when he noticed the bloodlust coming from the red phantom to his right he immediately turned his head.

He saw the other Commander laying dead on the floor and felt a shiver running down his spine. He was scared as hell from the crimson sillouete.

He dissapeared and dashed towards his still brightly growing friend, when he appeared near here she also turned her head.

She took a step back and tried to smirk weakly.

"You look pretty bad, worse then me. I think i won the bet..." Arthur laughed.

"We had a bet? Oh and btw don't think i didn't see you getting beheaded. Cool new magic trick you got there." Adora punched him weakly against the shoulder.

"Oh that, that was no magic trick. I died for real." Arthur smirked

Adora looked shocked when she heard the truth.

Just then the Ice elf Commander finally came to his senses again and tried to escape as quick as he can.

He dashed away in an instant but a bloody Sillouette appeared right behind him just a bit slower than him...

Arthur won't let him escape...
