The first thing Evangeline registered was the heat.
It slammed into her like a tidal wave, blistering and all-consuming, so intense it stole the breath from her lungs before she could even think to scream.
Her body plummeted through the air as gravity yanked her downward in a terrifying free-fall.
And then she saw it.
Molten rock.
A vast, roiling sea of liquid fire stretched endlessly below, seething and shifting with unnatural hunger.
A single thought pierced through the chaos in her mind.
We're going to die.
A strangled, panicked scream tore from her throat.
To her left, Anakin cursed violently, his voice barely audible over the storm of wind and fire.
To her right, Sereia flailed and a shriek of raw terror escaped her lips as her long silver hair whipped wildly around her face.
Evangeline's mind snapped into action.
