Five days later.
Xia Yuqing sat on the rotating black chair in Yan Rouxi's office, her fingers drumming rhythmically against the glass desk. A small low smirk tugged at her lips as she scrolled through the files on her phone.
Li Xinran—the original owner's oh-so-beloved best friend was about to get a taste of her own medicine. And Xia Yuqing was going to serve it ice cold.
"Exposing her won't be enough," she murmured, her voice light. "I need to ruin her completely. Make her fall so hard she'll never crawl her way back up."
Just then, a steaming cup of tea slid into view. She glanced up to see Yan Rouxi watching her with amusement. "You look like a villain plotting global destruction," she mused, settling into the chair opposite her.
Xia Yuqing chuckled, lifting the cup. "Not a villain. Just a firm believer in returning favors tenfold." She took a slow sip, savoring the warmth.
