She clenched and unclenched her hand. She was getting so angry at him. They were in public, and he was saying things like this. What did he want to achieve with all these lies? She glared at him. "Move out of my sight, Nicholas. I hate the attention you're bringing to me. I hate this so much."
Nicholas rubbed his face out of frustration. "Why is it so hard for you to believe that I regret all that I did to you? Why is it so hard for you to believe me? I'm not the same man you used to know."
"I broke things off with Cassie. She's the one pushing herself on me. Please believe me," he pleaded.
"You think I care?" she asked as she got up. "I don't give a damn what you and that woman are. I don't care at all. For all I know, you can both rot in hell."
She shook her head. "What am I even saying? You think anything you say will affect me in any way? You sent her to spy on me at all times. She's always after me. Why is that, though?"
