Amber pov
Amber whined, "Dad, please, I don't want to go."
"Dear, you need to be there," he said to her seriously. "I know there are some people you don't want to see, but this is so important. You need to be there."
Amber wasn't liking this at all. She thought she would be able to convince him, but it seems her father is so adamant that she attend the party.
"But it's of no benefit to me," she said, hoping he would understand, but he shook his head instead and said, "It's beneficial, trust me. It's so important that you know how people will always treat you and how you react to that."
"Always hiding won't help you. I understand you don't want to cross paths with some certain people, but think about it, you can't hide forever. Make amends with them since you are the one at fault."
She heaved a sigh. "I don't know how Emily will take it when she sees me. It's been five good years without communicating, and I feel so bad about that."
