Upon entering Jie Chen's room, he locked the door behind him with a backward flick of his hand.
Xiang Ying's eyebrows slightly raised as she sat down beside the bed, crossing her slender legs.
"Jie Jianjun, I am not a chaste lady immune to distractions, but right now I'm not in the mood for that."
Jie Chen's movements in his hands paused, turning his head to give her a cold glance.
"What on earth is going on in your head? Pass me that wooden stick beside you."
Xiang Ying was taken aback but complied, then saw Jie Chen prop the wooden stick diagonally behind the door.
His vigilant demeanor led Xiang Ying to feel slightly puzzled.
"Who are you guarding against?"
"You are the only one on this ship who can treat the plague. Naturally, I am guarding against those who might harm you."
Darkness shadowed Xiang Ying's phoenix eyes as she leaned on an armrest with folded arms and smile lightly: "But this is your team, how could there be someone harboring such malevolent thoughts?"
