The patriarch's voice was raised as he scolded him, "I tell you, I am so angry right now that if you were a child, I would put you over my knee right now and spank you until your buttocks bleed. That's how angry I am."
Lady Vena spoke with some hesitation, "Sir, isn't a rank 3 weapon too much for him? Some third-mortal-coil cultivators don't have rank 3 weapons."
The patriarchs sneered at her, "What do you know? Of course it is not too much. I have to make this kind of investment in order to impact his life in any meaningful way. Anything short of that will just be superficial."
Then the patriarch began to berate the two of them some more. He had a lot to say because the family had missed out on a talent like Arthur and because he had just lost his precious weapon. At that point, Arthur will finally recognize the value of the gift.
