Edgar looked at Layla and asked, "Are you sure, madam?"
Layla nodded. "Yes, I like the surroundings here and would like to stay for a while."
Edgar took note of her request. "Then I shall ask your maids to follow here."
Layla smiled widely. She assumed that Lilian didn't care much about Liora. Layla had no idea that Lilian had actually bought Liora. She thought it was just a typical concubine selection, where the mother of the man picked a girl to manage the household.
Layla knew what had happened with Lucien. She had wanted to be the one chosen, but instead, Lucien had married someone else. She had frequently visited the palace over the years under the pretense of seeing Ellora, but in truth, it had always been Lucien she sought to see.
