"Don't worry. Mom is here," Mother Jeffery held Helena's hand and patted gently to comfort her. She then looked at the others and warned them, "Who dares to bully my kids? Why aren't you all behaving like elders and joining in the fun instead?"
"Hey, you can't say that. They were already being lovey-dovey before us. We just wanted them to continue. That's all. How can you accuse us?" One chuckled and did not care about the warning in her eyes at all.
Everyone was friends anyway. No one would get angry or scared by the others just because of a few words.
Everything was for fun, and no one took anything to heart.
"You oldies!!" Mother Jeffery sighed.
She patted the back of Helena's hand and said calmly, "You both leave. I will take care of them."
"Thank you, mom," Helena muttered, and she ran away with Vernon.
Seeing their fleeing backs, everyone laughed out loud - including Mother Jeffery.
"Donna, your kids are cute." Someone in the crowd chuckled and commented.
