Thyriatrix's eyes sparkled with a mix of excitement and nervousness as she approached me. She took a deep breath, her voice barely above a whisper.
"Aetherius, I have something important to tell you." Her gaze locked onto mine, filled with a sense of anticipation.
My curiosity was piqued. "What is it, my love?" I asked, my voice filled with gentle encouragement.
Thyriatrix's smile grew, and she took another deep breath before speaking the words that would change everything...
"I'm pregnant."
My heart skipped a beat as I processed the news. I felt a surge of joy and excitement, mixed with a hint of surprise. I had hoped for this moment, but I hadn't expected it to arrive so soon.
"A child?" I whispered, my voice trembling with emotion. "We're having another child?"
Thyriatrix nodded, her smile radiant. "Yes, my love. We are." She paused, her eyes sparkling with mischief. "And you know what that means..."
I chuckled, feeling a sense of wonder. "463 days of pampering you and taking care of you, while you carry our precious egg." I grinned, my heart full of love and excitement.
Thyriatrix laughed, her voice musical. "Something like that," she said, her eyes shining with happiness.
I wrapped my wings around Thyriatrix, pulling her close in a warm embrace. "I'm so happy, my love," I whispered, my voice filled with emotion. "I promise to take good care of you and our unborn child."
Thyriatrix smiled, her eyes sparkling with tears of joy. "I know you will, Aetherius," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. "You're an amazing father and partner."
As we hugged, Tharros stirred under my wing, opening his eyes sleepily. "Father?" he whispered, his voice groggy with sleep.
I smiled, gently stroking Tharros' scales with my claw. "Yes, son?" I replied, my voice soft.
Tharros sat up, rubbing his eyes with his claws. "What's going on?" he asked, his gaze flicking between Thyriatrix and me.
Thyriatrix smiled, her eyes shining with excitement. "We're having another baby, Tharros," she said, her voice filled with joy.
Tharros' eyes widened, and he let out a excited squeak. "Really?!" he exclaimed, his tail wagging furiously.
Thyriatrix chuckled, her laughter musical. "Yes, really!" she said, smiling at Tharros' enthusiasm.
I grinned, feeling happy to see our child so excited. "You're going to be a big sibling, Tharros," I said, gently ruffling his scales with my claw.
Tharros beamed with pride, his chest puffing out. "I'm going to be the best big sibling ever!" he declared, his voice filled with determination.
Thyriatrix and I exchanged a warm glance, our hearts full of love and joy. This was just the beginning of a new chapter in our lives, and we were thrilled to share it with our children.
As we basked in the warmth of the moment, the rest of our children began to stir, drawn in by the excitement. Lyriath, Vyraxys, Nyxoria, Lyrixa, Kaidorix, and Kieraxys all gathered around, their eyes shining with curiosity.
"What's all the fuss about?" Lyriath asked, his navy-blue scales glinting in the moonlight.
Thyriatrix smiled, her eyes sparkling. "We're having another baby!" she announced, her voice filled with joy.
The children all cheered and chirped, their excitement infectious. We spent the next few moments basking in the happiness, our little family united in our joy.
As the celebration died down, I wrapped my wings around my family, holding them close. "We're going to need to make some adjustments," I said, smiling. "But we'll face this new chapter together, as a family."
Thyriatrix nodded, her smile radiant. "We'll make sure everyone has a role to play in preparing for the new arrival," she said, her eyes shining with excitement.
The children all nodded, eager to contribute. Lyriath, being the responsible older sibling, spoke up. "I'll help with nesting duties and make sure everything is ready for the new baby."
Vyraxys, always the curious one, asked, "Can I help with hunting and gathering food for Mother?"
Nyxoria and Lyrixa chimed in, offering to help with cleaning and organizing the nest. Kaidorix and Kieraxys, being the youngest, were excited to help with "baby-sitting" duties, taking care of Tharros and learning from him.
Tharros, feeling proud of his new role as a big sibling, smiled and nodded. "I'll help take care of the baby and teach them everything I know."
I smiled, feeling grateful for my loving family. "I'm so proud of all of you," I said, my voice filled with emotion. "We're going to make this new chapter an amazing one, together."
As we all shared in the excitement, Thyriatrix leaned in, her voice taking on a softer tone. "And, of course, we'll need to start thinking about names for our new little one."
The children all cheered and began tossing out name suggestions, their imaginations running wild. Lyriath proposed "Astrum" after the stars in the night sky, while Vyraxys suggested "Ember" for the fiery spark of life. Nyxoria and Lyrixa chimed in with "Lunaria" and "Stellaluna", respectively, inspired by the moon's gentle glow.
Kaidorix and Kieraxys, being the youngest, were more interested in playing with the sounds of words, giggling over "Glimmer" and "Sparkles". Tharros, feeling thoughtful, proposed "Nova", after the brilliant explosion of a new star.
I smiled, listening to the lively discussion, feeling grateful for the creativity and love that filled our little family. Thyriatrix and I exchanged a warm glance, knowing that we would find the perfect name for our new addition.
As the name suggestions continued to flow, Thyriatrix and I exchanged a knowing glance. We were grateful for the enthusiasm, but we also knew that the perfect name would come to us when the time was right.
"Let's not worry too much about names just yet," I said, smiling at our little family. "We have plenty of time to decide. What's important is that we're all excited and ready to welcome our new addition."
Thyriatrix nodded, her eyes shining with agreement. "Besides, I have a feeling that our little one will let us know what their name should be, when the time is right."
The children all nodded, seeming to understand that the perfect name would reveal itself in due time. With the excitement of the new baby still fresh in the air, we all settled in for a well-deserved rest, our hearts full of joy and anticipation.
I thought to myself,'I normally gave them names, so I was thinking of the name Niamon if it is a girl'
As I pondered the name Niamon, I couldn't help but feel a sense of fondness for it. It was a beautiful, elegant name that seemed to suit a little dragoness perfectly. I imagined our new addition, a tiny, scales-glistening female dragon, with the name Niamon suiting her just so.
But, I thought with a smile, I should probably wait until Thyriatrix and I can discuss it further. After all, naming our child was a decision we should make together. And, of course, we would need to wait and see if our new addition was indeed a female...
I gently stirred from my thoughts, noticing that Thyriatrix was watching me with a knowing glint in her eye. "You've thought of a name, haven't you?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
I smiled, feeling a hint of sheepishness. "Maybe," I admitted, trying to play it coy.
Thyriatrix chuckled, her laughter low and husky. "Tell me," she encouraged, her eyes sparkling with curiosity.
I hesitated for a moment, then leaned in, my voice taking on a conspiratorial tone. "I think I might have an idea," I whispered, "but I'd rather discuss it with you later, when the time is right."
