Rope still hasn't departed.
Mewtwo's sudden appearance was a surprise yes, but it did interrupt Rope's plans. It wasn't too much of a problem though, after all Mewtwo had a different meaning to Rope.
"Something to drink?"
Rope asked the six behind him as he stood in front of the drink rail and turned his head.
"Green tea." This is Blue[1].
"Black tea[2]." This is Red
"Juice" x 3 This is Cynthia, Whitley, Daisy This is the three girls speaking in unison.
Rope's eyes turned to Mewtwo as he smiled and asked, "How about you Mewtwo."
Mewtwo looked at Rope for a short while in contemplation and said, "Coffee, please."
Rope's face was unchanged, he just nodded, then turned his head to make the tea, which was brewing at the same time as he took out the tree fruit juice, and then poured three cups full. Then went back to brewing a cup of coffee. By this time, the green and black tea had also been brewed.
Daisy and Whitley exchanged a look.
Does he usually make his own tea, Daisy asked.
Whitley rolled her eyes and replied.
Cynthia, on the other hand, looked at Mewtwo, who was sitting in front of the coffee table, with a bit of curiosity and inquiry in her eyes.
She did guess the reason why Rope had to make the tea himself.
Mewtwo looked at Rope who was skillfully brewing tea over there with a hint of yearning in her eyes.
Blue passed a look towards Red, also quite uncertain. Red shrugged his shoulders, Rope's mind, since childhood, is not something they can guess. Each of them had their own thoughts, and no one had the intention to speak. The scene fell into a touch of awkwardness.
"Mewtwo, I've heard your name before." Cynthia looked at Mewtwo and then spoke up. After all, the atmosphere couldn't be allowed to one silent, and Rope definitely didn't call everyone over for anything more than to watch him make tea.
So Cynthia opened her mouth to start the conversation.
Mewtwo turned his head to the blonde in front of him, and telepathy kicked in as a British female voice resounded in the back of everyone's minds.
"I've heard of you too, Champion Cynthia."
"Oh~ have you traveled to the Sinnoh region?" Cynthia asked, rather surprised.
Mewtwo shook his head, "Not really traveling, I just heard about the legend of the creator god there. Wanted to go where to find something."
"Is that so? Did you find it?"
A curious look spread across Cynthia's face.
"No, not really, I went looking for traces of the God of Creation, but traces of the God of Creation are rare indeed. I couldn't find any trace of him in the end."
Mewtwo's face took on a look of regret, and it was true. After hearing about the legend of the God of Creation, she wanted to find whichever legendary god had created the world and then ask about the meaning of her existence, but she searched all over the Sinnoh region and couldn't find any.
Disheartened, she returned to her homeland, to the laboratory that she had blown to rubble.
When the big event happened she sensed many auras of her own level, or even slightly higher than her own. So it passed by quietly.
She saw her friend Red, and many others taking on those legendary gods.
She only felt pity that there were no Creation Gods involved.
But she saw another image, that of a youth, manipulating a huge flaming fist and blasting it at once into the demon god Hoopa.
While Hoopa, the Demon God, flies backwards, Mewtwo feels like he's found someone he can actually communicate with.
A human with Pokémon powers.
With that thought, she looked at Rope again.
At this point, Rope had already gotten everything done, so he walked over with a large plate and distributed the contents of the plate to the crowd one by one.
"Mewtwo, what are you looking for?"
Rope sat down and asked directly without putting up a front, getting right to the point.
Mewtwo picked up the coffee that Rope gave herself, a trace of confusion flowed from the bottom of her eyes, for a moment, she looked at Rope and said, "I'm looking for, the meaning of my existence."
"Do you want to find Arceus and ask him about the meaning of your existence?"
Rope asked. Then picked up the tree juice in front of himself and took a sip.
"Yes."
Mewtwo nodded.
Most of the others in the room didn't say anything, just quietly sipped their own and then watched the two guys chat.
They hadn't pondered the rather philosophical question of the meaning of their existence. For most people, there was no need to think about this question.
To be alive is to be alive, everyone is wandering in this world just like me, I am just like everyone else, so why should I purposefully pursue the meaning of existence.
This is true for all people.
But these two guys in front of me are really different.
Rope wondered how his crosser predecessors had adapted to the fact that they had come to other worlds.
He was slow to accept it.
A fifteen or sixteen year old student was suddenly thrown into another world. It wasn't even being away from parents family and friends anymore. This was almost the rhythm of being separated from the world.
And you're asking him to spend half an hour and then just accept the fact?
It's not like he's an orphan, the responsibilities of an only child are told at birth by everyone around him.
"You have to study hard, grow up to be a man, and then retire!"
"You have to pass on the family name!"
"You have to grow up and earn big money, otherwise how can you afford to support your mom and dad?"
The confusion of losing responsibilities, the pain of being far away from family and friends, the loneliness of being in a foreign world...
If it wasn't for people who were used to this kind of thing in their original worlds, the crossing over that they aspired to would always be nothing more than a Ye Gong Gong.
Under these circumstances, Rope naturally began to search for the meaning of his journey. The meaning of his arrival in this world.
And the same goes for Mewtwo.
Born in a laboratory with a human mind and the great power of a Legendary Pokémon.
The alienation of the human mind in the group of Pokémon.
A powerful force that brings fear to others and to Pokémon.
Everyone is subconsciously moving away from her. Those who pursue her are trying to gain her power.
She was born with the concept of a fighting weapon. But when that concept was told that it was wrong, that it shouldn't exist, Mewtwo could hardly contain herself and fell into a daze.
"Have you found the meaning of your existence?"
Mewtwo asked coldly.
The eyes of everyone in the room focused on Rope again.
"I had given up my search for meaning and wanted to merge with the light into the world. I learned in that moment that the meaning of my existence was not supposed to be that important. There are so many other things in the world that are more important than the nebulous notion of 'reason of existence'. Like someone who is caring about you. That's life. Maybe I'm an accident to the world. The world is just life to me."
Rope shrugged, then chuckled.
"But then Arceus told me he wanted me to shoulder the role of 'bridge'. So I found meaning, though it was after I looked away."
There was no bitterness on Rope's face, just a bemused smile.
