Chapter 154 - Rope and Gold’s Wild Battle (1)

"Why would you want a Snivy egg? Wouldn't it be best to have a fire Pokémon for your special ability?"

Whitley asked rather puzzled as she looked at Rope who was placing the incubator on the table.

Rope didn't answer right away, but after placing the incubator flat and steady, he carefully surveyed the egg.

The progeny of a Tenno class and a Dokuga class. To be honest, as long as it was normal genetics, then the Snivy in this egg would be at least a senior dokan level, or a half-step Tenno level existence, in the future.

It was a relatively normal growth limit for a Paragon Pokémon. After all, Tenno level is a big threshold that not every Pokémon can cross.

And this growth limit on paper could be considered top tier for a Gosanjin. After all, as good as the Mikazan are, essentially their initial requirements are...mild temperament, large numbers, easy to artificially breed, and lastly, talent.

The Gosanjas chosen by League could all be carefully selected breeds. After selection they are captured on a large scale, or simply their original habitat is circled as a breeding base. Instead of reducing the number of natural enemies and infighting, they were allowed to reproduce in large numbers under human nurturing, creating a relatively stable supply.

According to Rope's understanding, it would take about three generations for the offspring of the wild Gosannas to become quite gentle with humans and willing to give their eggs to them.

It seemed cruel... but nature was never fair.

And in essence, the breeders rarely go back and ask for their eggs, but usually wait until they've been together for a while and then separate them, with the adult Pokémon staying with the adult Pokémon, and the juvenile Pokémon staying with the juvenile Pokémon. But it also lets both sides meet at set times. Overall, it's not too bad.

It may seem unfair, but that's the price of sheltering humans.

At least until the humans found a better replacement breed, they wouldn't be in any danger to speak of.

"You have a problem with that, what do you mean my abilities lead to the idea that specializing in fire would be the best choice for me?"

Rope turned to look at Whitley and smiled.

Whitley shrugged and said, "What's wrong with that? Your flames can strengthen their flames and use them to fuel their growth. What else do you want to do if you don't go and subdue a fire Pokémon???"

Rope rubbed Whitley's head and said, "Thoughts are too inactive."

Whitley helplessly blocked his hand away before saying, "You don't really think of me as an apprentice! I haven't recognized you as my teacher yet! I was just giving you face just now."

She looked up and saw Rope with a 'fine, fine, it's all up to you' smile on his face and a look of helplessness... was she just going to be a disciple?

"You start by telling me how my mind is not active." Whitley became more and more exasperated.

"This problem is not unique to you, most people have it. This is a Pokémon dominated world after all. Even if there is technological development, it's more on the Pokémon side of the technology."

Rope sighed softly before continuing, "Let me ask you, what happens when fire meets water?"

Whitley answered without even thinking, "Rolling hot steam...wait, you..."

Rope shrugged, "Look, it's not like it still makes sense. It's not like my special ability can only help strengthen Fire Pokémon. Rather, it can be used by all the faculties, only the manifestation will be slightly different."

Whitley looked at Rope with a shocked expression, she really hadn't thought of that. That said, it was also true that normal thinking was that since they had such an ability then they might as well specialize in Fire Pokémon.

After all, those psychics would choose to specialize in the superpower department. Most fighters choose to specialize in fighting. aura messengers are extremely rare, but they are usually taken in by Lucario and other aura-using Pokémon.

These are examples of what can be found.

But she had forgotten that Rope's ability was a little different...

"It's true that my ability was best with Fire Pokémon in the beginning, but since meeting with Arceus and some other strange encounters, my ability has evolved to the point where I can give equal reinforcement to Pokémon of other attributes. But some attributes are just worth a lot of reinforcement, and some not so much."

Rope's Flame-Flame Fruit had become a Power Seed, and with the duties entrusted to him by Arceus, he'd been able to touch the threshold of a hint of Law. Of course, any further and he'd have to snatch food from the Orange Archipelago's God of Fire. But the God of Fire didn't seem to have much room for resistance in the permissions fight.

After all Arceus had given him his seal of approval hadn't he.

"I still won't be using Grass Pokémon's though. Reinforcement is too cost-effective to be used only for burning. But my flames are supposed to burn..."

Rope sighed helplessly. He actually quite liked some Grass-type Pokémon, such as Grass Baboon and Lizard King. Both were great Grass Pokémon.

"So what are you?" Whitley asked in confusion. While saying that he couldn't use a Grass Pokémon, he piped up and asked for a Snivy's egg, and it was the kind that sounded like it had great talent. It wouldn't surprise Whitley if the egg trickled onto the black market and fetched an astronomical price.

Rope reached out again and rubbed her head, "It's for you, idol, you're only complete with Snivy. That said, I don't want it to be a shiny Snivy or I'll feel much less vicarious."

The Snivy itself was chosen to be for Whitley. Or rather, for Mei, who Rope still regretted not having in this world. But some things can't really be forced. Since Whitley is Mei, but doesn't look like Mei, Rope puts on Mei's symbol, the Serperior. That way, the sense of immersion is instant!

Whitley, on the other hand, didn't care about Rope's babbling at this point, as she looked at the eggs on the table, then fixed her eyes on Rope again.

"Yo yo yo~ are you really moved by this??? Come on, if you are moved, let me rub your head for a while longer! I have to say, it feels really good!"

"Get lost! Scumbag! Can't you just let me be touched a little longer?"

Whitley smacked Rope's hand down. Then stared viciously at Rope.

"What do you need so much moving in life for?" Rope laughed it off.

"Let's go, off to dinner, still have to deal with these guys, tsk, trouble..." said Rope, scratching his head rather bitterly.

"By the way, I heard Gold is going to have a wild battle with you. Are you going to say yes? I've heard Gold's pretty good at wild battling." Whitley suddenly remembered Blue's conversation with Gold. She wasn't too far away at the time and could hear it.

"Whoever plays wild battle can still play with me, unless he whole no rules... take 6 Pokémon to surround me, otherwise I won't be afraid. Emmm, this matter has to take the initiative. I'll go find Gold and request a match later!"

"You don't want a wild battle with Rope? Don't you like wild battles?" Blue asked as he looked at Gold in confusion.

"I think it's disrespectful to Professor Rope to fight him in a wild battle, it's better to fight a normal sparring match!" Gold said righteously.

"EMMM that makes sense too, then I won't arrange it, just talk to Rope directly if you want to fight at that time, a normal sparring match, he won't refuse, right?"

"Okay Senior Blue!"

Gold gave a 'mission sucessful' smile.
