Chapter 145 - Before Class (1)

Celadon University Auditorium

By now the auditorium was filled with bustling students. There was still an empty row of seats in the front row. It was obviously for the bosses who were there.

However, there was still more than an hour before the lecture time. So that row was just empty, and no boss had arrived yet.

However, the students seemed to have been unable to wait for a long time, even though the school had already divided up the places to come to the auditorium, there were still a lot of people who wanted to squeeze in, and so the students began to show off their skills.

Some students are from good families, so they started to spread money to acquire a place in the auditorium, but it is obvious that the students of Celadon University are not too short of money, and this kind of big scene if you don't go to have a look this time, then maybe you can't see it in your life again. After all, the scene of so many big shots gathered together was generally a scientific research summit.

And there should be very few of these students who would be qualified to participate in the scientific research summit in the future.

So everyone cherished this opportunity as well.

But precisely because of this preciousness, all sorts of tactics were also endless. Including, but not limited to, hiding in the auditorium at night in advance, and then waiting for the day to start so that they could find a place to continue listening to the lectures in a cat.

But this method because of too many students hid in advance led to last night in the auditorium cat in order to scramble for a seat in the clash and was recognized by the school.

So a bunch of students... pounced.

On the campus network, there's also talk like this.

"Whoever can give me their spot! I'll be his girlfriend!"

Then a beautiful selfie was attached at the bottom.

There was a comment normally there should still be quite a few people up in arms.

But this time the comment section seemed to have a clear mind.

"You become someone's girlfriend in order to listen to Professor Rope's lecture, so the question arises. Is it the person who gave away the spot that you like, or is it Professor Rope? [Doge]"

This line of questioning swept through the comments section. So the trick failed again.

Incidentally, the first person to lead the charge was Whitley... she posted a comment like this on Eri's account, which then got likes and followers from a wide range of male students.

There are many other similar approaches, but none of them seem to have had much effect. The school has also gone from a laissez-faire approach to this open class to a tightly regulated one.

It really just makes a bunch of school leaders cry and laugh.

After all, even when Professor Oak came to give lectures, the leaders had never seen such a "grand occasion".

But thinking about it carefully, this situation was not incomprehensible.

For one thing, Rope's youthful handsomeness was highly accomplished, and this was no accomplished old folks. A young man the same age as the students standing in that position would have had a feeling that people would aspire to.

In addition, Rope's field of study was 'Legendary Pokémon' which simply touched the nerves of any person. Anyone who had heard of the legends of Legendary Pokémon would have a longing for Legendary Pokémon.

If someone like Professor Elm or Professor Birch came, they would only be able to attract students who were studying their own field, but Rope wasn't even a cross-field generalist anymore. The students of the trainer academy are also rushing to listen to the class ah!

After all, what trainer doesn't have a dream of subjugating a Legendary Pokémon, marrying a rich white woman, and making it to the top of the trainer ladder?

This way...the audience was completely different.

Obviously, though, Rope isn't money after all. It can't be everyone's favorite.

The public class that was making a lot of noise was also bound to cause dissatisfaction among some students. Whether it was students who wanted a clean slate, students who were instinctively jealous of someone like Rope who was the same age as them but could stand on another level, or those who were jealous because their boy/girlfriend was too enthusiastic about Rope.

All in all, most of the reasons for liking Rope are similar: talented, handsome, and researching something lofty.

On the other hand, those who dislike Rope have different reasons. It's not uncommon to simply look the other way.

So now Eri's ears were pierced by such a piercing voice.

"Rope? Heh, it's just a documentation guy. If you really want to go out into the wild, you still have to rely on us powerful trainers to protect you. Still researching Legendary Pokémon, I'm afraid I don't know what kind of luck I've gotten when I ran into those Legendary Pokémon, and after casually snapping a couple photos, I'm just going to flaunt them around."

A boy who was dressed 'chic', with three or five studs in his left ear and a large earring in his right ear said so from the back row.

It looked like he was talking to a rather sweet looking girl in a white dress beside him.

The girl's face was overflowing with disgust, but the studded boy was still unaware of it, and began to talk about his own 'heroic deeds', how difficult it was to obtain his badge, how powerful his Pokémon was, his status in the Trainer Academy, and every now and then, he even mentioned his own family, first of all, how he was the vice-mayor of Celadon City. Celadon City's vice mayor's father, his mom who owns a large company... He also praises Rope from time to time, using it to set off his own 'heroic and extraordinary'.

Although nothing he said about Rope was true, the problem was that no one else knew what kind of person Rope really was. Looking at the studded man with a look of conviction, they could only nod their heads half-heartedly.

The earring man droned on and on. Not caring at all about the boredom of the people around him.

"Shut up!"

A broken cry rang out from in front of the ear studded man. There was a sudden silence in the surroundings.

Everyone looked up to see Eri looking at the studded man with a layer of frost on her face.

The studded man was just about to get angry at the interruption, but before he could speak, Eri spoke up.

"You spouted off about Professor Rope's incompetence, so why aren't you the one who's going to be speaking on stage right now? You claim to be powerful, but that badge you're holding isn't even a badge of the Eight Great Gyms, and Professor Rope has earned four badges of the Eight Great Gyms."

"Professor Rope saved our lives while practicing in the wilderness, his Charmeleon beat a Sneasel half to death, and what the hell are you saying again that he might be asking you to protect him when he gets to the wilderness? Where the hell do you get the confidence to speak of Professor Rope's shortcomings?"

"Have you ever spoken to Professor Rope? Have you ever crossed paths with Professor Rope? Do you know what the title of professor awarded by the Research Summit really means?"

"Do you get your confidence from your parents? Are you thinking that your combined parental power matches the influence of Professor Rope? Did you know that Professor Rope's teacher is Professor Oak? Spelling background, do you think you can't compare to Professor Rope?"

"People like you who can't match your strength, can't match your research, can't match your IQ, can't match your emotional intelligence, and can't even match your family background actually have such confidence!"

"Do you know where your confidence and bravery comes from?"

A sneer hooked onto Eri's face.

"From your ignorance."
