Chapter 92 - Chapter 491: Tsunade Steps In, A League of Her Own

If this doctor kept talking, Takuya Yagami might soon gain a reputation as a teacher who abused his students.

Takuya had no intention of bearing such a baseless accusation.

Damn it, once this is over, I'm charging Sakumo Hatake for the medical fees. He owes me a meal too. After all, I never taught his son anything. He did, and look what happened!

"I'm sorry, but I can't treat this."

The elderly, rather rotund medical ninja frowned sternly.

"This injury is beyond my capabilities. I'm afraid only Tsunade-sama can handle it."

Why didn't you say so earlier?!

Without another word, Takuya picked up Kakashi and left the hospital in a hurry.

The way the doctors and nurses looked at him was enough to make his skin crawl. They clearly thought he was some sort of tyrant abusing Kakashi.

Dragging his silent, guilt-ridden apprentice through the streets toward the Hokage's office, Takuya sighed heavily.

"This is all your fault. I told you—don't use that technique until your body is fully developed. Do you hear me?"

You make the mistake, and I take the blame. Who am I supposed to complain to?

The worst part was being berated by the doctor and having no room to argue back.

The situation was urgent enough that Takuya didn't even bother knocking. He burst straight into the Hokage's office.

Inside, Tsunade was reviewing documents while the Third Hokage sat nearby, guiding her through the intricacies of leadership.

"What brings you here?"

It was rare for Takuya to come to the Hokage's office, especially when the Third Hokage was present.

But to barge in without knocking and drag Kakashi along was unheard of.

Tsunade gave Kakashi a light smack on the head, forcing him to stand up straight.

Takuya, exasperated, spread his hands and explained, "I didn't want to come either. This kid probably got some tips from his father and secretly learned Thunder Flash. Just now, he tried to sneak attack me with it, failed, and ended up damaging his arm—muscles, tendons, even the bone."

"That serious?"

The Third Hokage's face darkened as he stood abruptly.

Kakashi was one of the village's brightest young talents. Any permanent damage to him would be a huge loss for Konoha.

Tsunade, however, remained calm. With a raised brow, she looked at the downcast Kakashi and snickered, "Quite bold for a little brat. What, don't want your arm anymore?"

"Quit teasing him and take a look," Takuya interjected, rolling his eyes.

"The hospital doctor chewed me out already. Once this is over, I'm having a serious word with his father. Leaving his kid to me, then secretly teaching him techniques he shouldn't learn? Unbelievable."

"Come here, brat."

Tsunade beckoned Kakashi over.

Obediently, he stepped forward and extended his trembling arm.

Tsunade's idea of "gentle" didn't exist. She grabbed his arm firmly, making Kakashi wince.

"Ah..."

Watching her manhandle Kakashi's injured arm, Takuya couldn't help but wince himself.

Come on, Tsunade, you could be a little softer. He's already in pain—there's no need to add insult to injury!

The Third Hokage, visibly uncomfortable, twitched slightly. Memories of past experiences with Tsunade's "gentle" touch seemed to surface.

"I'll step outside for a bit. Tsunade, examine him carefully and make sure he's treated properly," he muttered before slipping out of the office with his pipe.

Tsunade ignored him and focused on her examination.

Sweat poured down Kakashi's face, but he endured silently.

"How's your eyesight?" Tsunade asked without looking up.

"It's fine. A bit itchy and sometimes painful when I open them, but it'll pass."

Takuya was accustomed to the symptoms that accompanied the evolution of his eyes. The higher the level, the more pronounced the signs.

"Good," Tsunade replied with a nod.

Turning back to Kakashi, she said, "Brat, I'll let it slide this time. But next time? You'd better come with at least a million ryo. Otherwise, don't even think about asking me to treat you."

"..."

Getting Tsunade to treat someone for free? Practically impossible.

The woman had the instincts of a business magnate and was infamous for her greed.

"Well, you can always send the bill to his father," Takuya suggested with a smirk.

"You're right."

Tsunade's eyes lit up at the idea. Grabbing Kakashi, she led him toward the medical room for treatment.

"You're free to go, Takuya. I'll deal with his father about the bill."

"..."

Poor Sakumo Hatake. For his son's sake, he was about to be fleeced.

Still, Takuya thought, It serves him right. What kind of father teaches their kid dangerous techniques behind my back?

Kakashi's injuries weren't life-threatening but left untreated, they could have long-term consequences.

Once the treatment was complete, Tsunade wasted no time summoning Sakumo.

"Lady Tsunade," Sakumo greeted politely, dressed in his ANBU uniform with his iconic short sword strapped to his back.

Although Tsunade had yet to officially become Hokage, her position as the successor was no secret. She was already regarded as the next leader.

Without a word, Tsunade slapped a medical bill onto the desk in front of him.

Sakumo blinked in confusion.

"What's this?"

Picking up the bill, his expression darkened as he read the total: 1.8 million ryo.

"Damn brat! I told him not to use that technique recklessly! That little troublemaker…"

Sakumo's heart ached. Tsunade had bled him dry with this outrageous bill, but there was no way he could refuse.

The future Hokage was smiling at him expectantly, clearly waiting for him to pay up.

Even if he had the guts, there was no avoiding this debt.

It was all his fault anyway.

From now on, no matter how much Kakashi begged, Sakumo resolved never to teach him another risky technique.

Tsunade's fees alone were enough to bankrupt him.

And Takuya? He was sure to give Sakumo an earful next.

This is going to cost me more than just money, Sakumo thought bitterly as he signed the payment form.

Despite his wealth, even Sakumo felt the sting of such a hefty expense. He had planned to commission a high-quality chakra blade for Kakashi when he grew older.

Now, those plans would have to wait.

Kakashi was Takuya's student, after all, and their training styles were vastly different.

While Sakumo followed the Hatake clan's traditional swordsmanship, Takuya leaned heavily into the explosive power of the Uchiha and Senju styles.

Different paths required different weapons, and finding the right tool to maximize Kakashi's potential would take time—and resources.
