Chapter 81
"What?" Tom woke up as his phone rang and immediately left the bedroom in his sleepwear, leaving his wife, Elise startled. When she asked where he was going, his simple reply was, "There's been an accident at work. I'm going there now."
With that, Tom left his house and arrived at the scene where firetrucks were trying their hardest to get the fire under control but no matter how hard they tried, the fire only continued to spread seeing as how massive it was.
"Report." Tom said in low voice but no one around him spoke. They all stood quietly as fire spread throughout the surroundings.
"Report!" Only when Tom yelled did the man next to him say, "Someone called the fire department seeing the fire from far away. When they arrived, they also found bodies inside. There were dead bodies of the crew and everyone who was here to complete the trade."
"Everyone?" Tom asked as he gnashed his teeth.
"We've managed to keep the police away for now as the fire is still spreading and the bodies haven't been revealed. We have reasons to believe that our contacts in the police are carrying their weapons and badges." The subordinate replied. Tom closed his eyes and took a deep breath to calm himself before he asked the most important question.
"And the shipment?" Tom asked.
"It's..." The subordinate couldn't reply. All he could do was take deep breaths as he was too scared to reply, and not just him, everyone around him was also scared of Tom at the moment as he was breathing like a wild beast.
"Missing?" Tom asked.
"...Yes." The subordinate finally replied after a brief pause. Tom took a deep breath to calm himself again before he turned to the subordinate and said, "Find them. Find everything you can. If not, be prepared to offer your heads to the boss in the morning."
The men and women around Tom trembled in fear at the mention of the so-called Boss. Everyone hurriedly moved to find out whatever they could while Tom braced himself to meet the Boss himself. After all, there was no way the Boss didn't know of it already.

Tom arrived outside of a bar that was still open in the middle of the night. It was a little deep into the city so one would think there would be many customers there but it was completely empty. As Tom entered the bar, he was met with a few men who were carrying weapons dressed in black suits.
One of them proceeded to take Tom's jacket while Tom made his way to the bar and sat down.
"What will you take?" The bartender who seemed slightly younger than Tom asked. With black hair and a black-trimmed beard, he seemed to be in perfect shape. Tom looked at him as he replied, "Whiskey on the rocks."
The bartender nodded and proceeded to prepare Tom's order and soon enough, it was placed before him. Tom waited for a while before more and more men joined him in the bar. Once there were four men in the bar and everyone had taken what they ordered, the bartender spoke, "So? Where's my merchandise, Mister Miller?"
"..." Tom remained silent. He had no reply and neither did the rest of the men. The bartender smiled and said, "I should have listened to you when you said not to leave this task to the police. Look at what happened."
"I was merely giving an opinion," Tom replied.
"Well, not listening to your opinion has cost me a lot." The bartender said before he said, "There's something interesting that has been found."
He then proceeded to hand over a tablet to Tom and once Tom saw the footage on it, he couldn't help but ask, "Doctored?"
"Highly unlikely. The data uploaded to the servers is every five minutes apart so even if someone erases the data, we can still have our footage before the hard drives were wiped and cameras were destroyed." The bartender said.
"The do you mean to tell me...?" Tom couldn't find the right words to ask. What he was seeing in the footage was that much unbelievable. A man who could conjure up balls of fire and move so fast that even to the camera it seemed like a blur. The man was covered in black clothes from head to toe so his face couldn't be seen but Tom could tell, it was a human.
"In my entire life, I have never seen something like this." The bartender calmly spoke, "Had I not seen it myself, I would have doubted if someone were to describe the same scene to me. I would have shot them on the spot."
Now Tom understood why the bartender was so calm even when millions of worth of weaponry had been lost. He had found something more interesting than weapons.
"Find this... thing or man or whatever the right form could be applied to address the person in the video. Spare no resources. Even if it is ridiculous, we must have something like that on our side." The bartender said before he added, "And oversee the next shipment yourself. It's better not to trust the police anymore."
As the bartender said that, one of the men on the far left lowered his head in shame as he was the one who was their main contact with the police. Tom nodded, knowing full well it was a difficult task, but it was his job and nothing could be done about it.
"Ah, that reminds me..."
Tom stopped as the bartender spoke. Tom looked at him and waited for him to continue, "What about our expansion?"
"I'm trying to lure the boy. It is still too early to reveal everything to him so I'm using some other ways." Tom replied.
"Hmm..." The bartender mused for a while before he said, "With how many connections the boy has, it is sensible for us to consider him ambitious for his age. There is no way he would pass up an opportunity such as this one."
Tom nodded and understanding the underlying meaning, he left to make his plans. For now, the matter of finding the missing weapons was at the very least solved. Since their boss had found something better, then there was no need to worry about the consequences of the missing weapons.
Tom left for his home, now calm as he was, since he was worried he might give away something to his family.

From this battle, I found out one thing for sure. I wasn't strong enough for bullets. Bullets still penetrated my body even with my stats raised so high. Smaller guns only stung but the shots from an automatic rifle would outright penetrate my body.
And it fucking hurt.
No matter how much of a man I was, it still hurt.
Fuck!
I so wanted to cry out loud as I pulled the bullets out of my body.
I tried to deploy the same technique as Rox, where he would cover his whole body in aura to increase his defense, but mana didn't seem to work in the same way. I could still create a layer on my body, but it broke down after one or two bullets and the amount of MP it would consume was not worth it.
Instead, my eyes turned to the skills. Especially this one in particular.
[Mana shield]
[Rank: C]
[Effect: Creates sturdy shield infused with mana to cover the entire body of the caster]
[Duration: 3 minutes]
[Cooldown: 10 minutes]
[Cost: 1000 MP]
[Cost: 30,000 SC]
The skill was good and the duration was etiquette as well. It wasn't to the point that I was satisfied, but it was still something. The only problem was the cost. I was completely empty of my coins stock after the purchase of the skill [Fireball].
If I wanted to buy this skill, I would have to have sex thirty times, and even to me, that was a lot. Still, never in a million years was I going to treat sex like a chore so I manned up once again to have the time of my life from tomorrow.
Since I had left my blood at the scene, I had to burn down the entire building and everything along with it. Of course, I took the weapons with me in the inventory. There was no way I was going to pass up that opportunity.
Anyway, while I was healing myself in my room and cleaning any dirty spots where my blood could have been left, I heard a loud yell from downstairs followed by a bam of the front door.
It wasn't that loud of a noise, just my ears were that much sensitive. I doubted even the girls were woken up by that. But what I did recognize was the owner of the sound and it was none other than the man whose wife I had shagged twice, who was also my aunt.
Worried about her, I went downstairs only to find my aunt in her sleepwear in the living room with a worried expression etched on her face.
I approached her and asked, "What happened?"
