As a battleship of the Burning Legion from another world, its speed was naturally unmatched. However, the vastness of space meant that even with the assistance of the Sargerite Keystone—crafted by the Bronze Titan Sargeras—and the Legion's advanced portal technology, interstellar travel still demanded significant time.
After a full day of flight, Garus realized they were still far from their destination. At their current pace, it was hard to estimate how long it would take to arrive.
"Mr. Garus, we've detected a fleet of raiders ahead," Kallruth reported as the holographic display aboard the Legion battleship revealed an imposing fleet.
The name "Star Raiders" was infamous across the galaxy, and this fleet was led by none other than Yondu Udonta, the notorious poacher from Centauri. Unlike other raiders, Yondu's crew was known for their cruelty, ruthlessness, and utter lack of scruples.
However, just by observing the raider fleet's ships, it was impossible to identify their allegiance with certainty. Regardless, no raider group could rival the Chitauri army in strength.
"They've spotted us too," Kallruth said as the lead ships in the raider fleet adjusted their trajectory.
Garus's mind churned with a plan. Turning to Kallruth, he ordered, "Stop the battleship."
"Understood, Mr. Garus," Kallruth responded, immediately carrying out the command.
Seeing the unusual battleship come to a halt, Yondu barked, "Get me a line to that ship. Let them know their vessel now belongs to me."
A moment later, Yondu's second-in-command, Kraglin, reported, "Boss, their ship's technology is completely incompatible with ours. We can't establish communication."
"Incompatible?" Yondu frowned, moving closer to the monitor. "Surround them. They'll understand what's happening soon enough."
"On it, boss."
From Yondu's massive flagship, countless smaller vessels emerged, forming a tight encirclement around the Legion battleship.
Surrounded by a swarm of ships, Kallruth asked uneasily, "Mr. Garus, what do we do now?"
"We'll board their ship," Garus said calmly. "Maybe we can convince them to take us to our destination faster."
Under the escort of the raiders' small ships, Kallruth piloted the Legion battleship into the hangar bay of Yondu's flagship.
As Garus and Kallruth disembarked, they were met by a crowd of over a hundred raiders of various bizarre shapes and appearances.
A man with a long scar running down his face stepped forward. "You've been cooperative so far, but this is where your luck runs out. Leave your lives behind."
"This ship now belongs to me," Garus declared, his tone cold and unwavering. "Call your leader out here."
"What did you just say?" The raiders stared at Garus in stunned disbelief.
"I said, this ship is mine now." Garus drew Frostmourne and plunged it into the steel floor, unleashing an icy wave that froze the raiders in their tracks.
"You... who... who are you?" the scarred man stammered, trembling from the cold.
Before Garus could respond, a whistling sound cut through the air—a glowing red arrow shot from a shadowy corner, heading straight for him.
Clang! Garus deflected the arrow with a swift stroke of his blade. As he reached to pick it up, the arrow lifted itself back into the air, darting once more toward his head.
From his position at the monitor, Yondu's face broke into a sweat as he watched his Yaka arrow struggle in the grasp of the intruder. For the first time, his seemingly invincible weapon had failed.
The arrow vibrated furiously in Garus's hand, trying to escape. Recognizing its unique design, Garus recalled it belonged to Yondu Udonta. For a moment, he wondered if Peter Quill was aboard this ship.
Kallruth, noticing the weapon, commented, "Mr. Garus, that's Yondu's arrow…"
"I know," Garus replied, cutting him off.
Although the arrow was impressive, it wasn't an artifact-level weapon. Without hesitation, Garus stashed it in his spatial pouch, severing its connection to Yondu.
Back on the bridge, Yondu panicked as he realized his control over the Yaka arrow was gone. "What the hell? Where's my arrow?!" he shouted at Kraglin. "Send more men to deal with him. Don't let him reach the command center!"
"On it, boss."
Garus turned to the scarred man he had just thawed from his icy prison. "Take me to Yondu," he commanded.
The man hesitated. "Yondu will never let you—"
"Talk less. Lead the way," Garus interrupted, his deathly aura gripping the man by the throat and lifting him into the air.
"Fine! I'll… I'll take you," the man gasped, his arrogance giving way to fear. "But Yondu won't just let you walk in!"
"That's not your concern," Garus said coldly.
As Garus and Kallruth followed their reluctant guide toward the control center, any raiders who attempted to stop them were effortlessly cut down by Frostmourne. Their souls were absorbed into the blade, leaving only lifeless bodies in their wake.
"Boss, what do we do now?" Kraglin asked, clearly rattled. "Our weapons don't work on him, and he's shielded by some kind of energy."
Yondu slapped Kraglin on the back. "Stop whining. Let's grab the heavy artillery."
The raiders fortified themselves behind the command center's doors, armed with high-powered weapons.
SCREECH! A grating noise rang out as Frostmourne's blade pierced through the thick alloy doors, cutting a circle.
THUD! The severed panel fell to the ground, and the raiders inside tensed, weapons raised.
As Garus and Kallruth entered, Yondu forced himself to appear calm. "Who are you? What do you want?"
Garus smirked. "You're the one who brought us here. Shouldn't I be asking you that?"
Yondu's face twitched as he remembered he had ordered the capture. "So... what now?"
Garus shrugged. "Now? Now this ship belongs to me. Anyone have a problem with that?"
Yondu scowled. "You're picking a fight with the Star Raiders? I've got allies across the galaxy—they won't stand for this!"
Garus chuckled. "Your so-called allies can't stand you, Yondu. Don't kid yourself."
Caught off guard, Yondu fell silent.
"Set a course for where I want to go," Garus said, transmitting the coordinates telepathically to Yondu.
"You're heading to Sakaar? That's the Grandmaster's territory," Yondu muttered, his expression grim.
