Prologue

[…14th fleet, respond! 14th fleet, are you there?!]

[H-HELP!! THEY ARE HERE—]

Noises. The cutoff of signals. Holding onto the dial of an unresponsive transponder snail, Sengoku, the Admiral of Marine, revealed a horror-filled eyes.

"…How?"

Ba-bump.

Gritted teeth. Dilated irises. Sweats. Sengoku seemed horrified, for the fact that the communication among the fleets were interrupted meant one thing.

"There were 10 fleets sent after them, led by none other than Houndog—an Admiral just like me! So how…"

Sengoku couldn't finish his words. He was forced to do so.

Ba-bump.

It was as if his breathing stopped. Sengoku, with widened eyes, looked to his left and right.

"G-grrrrgh…"

The marine soldiers were getting knocked out spontaneously with their agape mouths full of foams.

With a thud, they fell on the deck one by one, and such a scene, mysterious and horrifying, caused Sengoku to remark in a shaky tone,

"Conqueror's… Haki…!"

There was no pirate capable of making Sengoku feel this way except one. Not Whitebeard, not Gol D. Roger, and not Rocks D. Xebec either.

Ba-bump.

One ship suddenly appeared in Sengoku's sight. The way it appeared was as if it took off an invisible veil; such an abrupt appearance gave off an ominous sense, giving off the vibe of a ghost's ship.

At the front, one man stood with his arms crossed, wearing a crimson-red cape that matched the color of his hair and eyes.

He had a handsome appearance, enough to swoon many women. Grinning, he was confident and charismatic. In a first glance, he was a regal-looking man.

However, Sengoku knew that that pirate, unlike his appearance, was the most dangerous pirate in the world.

"'Red Mark' Darvy…!!!"

As Sengoku shouted, a bounty poster flew out of a wall it was attached to. As it flew in the air, it read,

'Red Mark' Darvy. Wanted Dead or Alive. 6,200,000,000 Berries.

"Yahahaha!! What's wrong, Sengoku? Surprised to see me?!"

Darvy grinned. His crimson eyes gleamed dangerously as he spoke.

"10 fleets… it was 10 fleets!!"

Sengoku couldn't help but clench his fists.

"And yet…!!"

"10. Yes. A mere 10 was sent after me, how foolish of you."

Darvy's grin widened.

"You should've send 50 at the very least."

This is the story of Darvy, of how he goes from the weakest boy who's belittled upon to the pirate among pirates.

He is called by the title of 'Red Mark', but there also exists another moniker to which people refer him as:

'King of the Sea.'

Let the story begin!
