Chapter 108 - Hela, Loki and the Entity

"Firstly, Loki is a shape-changer... Gender is more a question than a reality."

My words spread through the chamber as I withdrew my hand from my face, the vague redness of a facepalm lingering over my skin as Frigga chuckled into her hand demurely. Loki, in female form, cocked her head and grinned mischievously.

"Perhaps I will have to talk things through with Hela..." The words were laced with mischief as my women all looked at the god of trickery with scowls. It would appear that the god would need to provide a significant effort to sway my women enough to grant him even a chance of being with me. 'She' didn't look daunted by that at all however.

'Loki is a fool... Now, could you please, aid me?'

Hela whispered her request in my mind, the weakness of her tone conveying to me the urgency needed.

"If I am to do this ritual, I have stipulations. One of them being th-"

"The release of Hela? Correct?" Odin frowned heavily and strained against his armour whilst his wife looked on towards him, her entire demeanor sung her disquiet at the request's effect on her husband.

Simply nodding I awaited his response, Loki and Thor watching me closely... The former was calculating something whilst the latter was flipping Mjollnir in his hands every few seconds, ready for a fight.

"Do this ritual. Show me the contract, then, if everything has worked as you have promised and the contract is sound, I will release her from her prison into your custody." A sigh escaped his lips as he finished his sentence, his right hand turned white from the flexing of muscle.

"Easy!", 'System, I want ritual chalk... I also need a rope, chalices, a dagger and a sleeping potion.'

{Purchased. Cost: 1,000P}

Summoning the items to my hands I placed them down near me and started to draw out a complex sigil. The chalk was exceedingly powerful for my purposes, a necessity given their magical nature and god-like qualities. The sigil itself was a combination of a pentagram, the Valknut and my own personal symbols; strawberries and infinity symbols.

A few minutes of drawing out this complex spell-circle I took the untied rope and laid it around the exterior of the circle, directly surrounding it. Then came the chalices and dagger. Looking over at Frigga and Odin I gestured for them to step down.

"Please, your moment has come. The chalices need only a small amount of blood, however, the more blood offered the more powerful the connection will become."

Frigga grasped some of what I was implying it seemed as she soon spat out a bunch of spell-jargon.

"The circle calls upon the genetic structure within the target whilst pulling power from leylines of energy within concepts and beings to stabilize the connection. From there you use the rope as an allegory to the connection between the blood offered within the chalices and the person inside of the spell... From there you will place the chalices, somewhere and then with the very dagger that you used to draw our blood you will switch the meaning of the rope after the genetic changes have occurred and instead use it to snap lingering connections to the person's bloodline and genetic line.."

"That's, genius..."

Her words were uttered blazingly quick as I stood there for a second comprehending what she said before nodding with a deep grin.

"Yes. But you are also forgetting one thing..."

She narrowed her eyes and looked down, noting the potion.

"What potion would this be?"

"Sleeping potion."

Her eyes widened and then she slapped her forehead and intoned loudly in disbelief at her own lack of observation.

"You expect this to be very painful, so you will use the potion to ensure that all pain is cut off from the pain receptors within his mind... Additionally, putting him in sleep will make the genetic re-structuring faster, quicker and smoother due to the state the body enters when during a deep sleep."

"Exactly! There are more complicated versions, but they are used by those who lack the understanding. Complexity doesn't always correlate with effectiveness, many forget that."

Everyone else in the chamber just watched on in utter stupidity. Many were intelligent, but they were not as well versed in witchcraft or magic. Loki was the only one mildly understanding, but even then, he was more focussed on Illusion magic and spatial transference than rituals or deep arcana.

With Frigga watching me carefully I took the dagger and offered it over, allowing them to cut themselves and bleed into two separate chalices.

"Why not join them into one Chalice?" The question was quite intriguing, but showed a lack of knowledge in understanding the relation between bloodlines.

"Combining the blood would create a mutation that would be insipid and damage the body. Bloodlines, are more complex than the merging of DNA through copulation... To place a bloodline within a being that was not originally of your blood or DNA we must keep the various components separate and let the body mix them."

"So we are essentially providing ingredient for a biological alchemy within Loki's body..."

Smiling I waved my hand over the wounds and watched as their skin healed over, fresh blood pooling at the bottom of the chalices.

"Indeed. Many would consider this 'dark' magic from the magic system I know of... But magic is magic, neither good, evil or totally neutral. It is much like a sword... A sword does not kill by itself, but if given to the hands of a maniac then it will become 'evil'."

Frigga nodded and stepped back, watching as I placed the chalices on the North segment of the pentagram and the South respectively. From here I could not speak anymore. Magic slipped from my hand and into the chalk, acting as circuits for my intent and magic. The entire spell-circle lit up in bloody hue as the chalices hovered in mid-air. The rope around the outside started to slowly close in on the very centre of the circle. The ritual circle was now ready for Loki.

"Loki, take the potion after stepping in the middle. Make sure you are standing." The god of mischief nodded and gracefully picked up the potion, gulping it down as she stepped into the direct centre of the pentagram.

Immediately the ritual began, my magic draining slowly as the blood started to slowly slither out of the chalices and swim through the air. The enclosed rope began to knot upon itself as the blood touched Loki's skin, sinking into the bloodstream of the god as the circle glowed brighter.

No chanting was needed here. No complex movements, simply magic power, the ingredients and the circle. After a minute of constantly supplying magic to the ceremony the rope was wrapped almost as tightly as the Gordian knot, whilst the blood was completely absorbed by the nascent Odinson.

Finally the ritual completed as the dagger rose from the floor and chopped down at the rope, snapping all of the God's connection to Laufey the Ice Giant and instead allowing his new genetic bonds to reform in its place.

The light died down as I pulled out the contract, Loki snapping her eyes open whilst looking down at the pinkness of her own skin. Blinking she stood there whilst I took over the contract and handed it to Odin, the Godking raising his eyebrows and then hanging his jaw open whilst looking at the one who signed off on this agreement.

"What is it husband?" Freya pulled his hands down and gazed at the contract, frowning for a few seconds until laughter began to peal out through her lips.

"P-hahahaha... Your father certainly pulled one over on you Husband! Hahaha."

He coughed and handed the contract back, a breath escaping his lips as he summoned Gungnir and tapped it three times on the floor.

"She will not be happy with me..."

'Understatement of the millennia!'

Hela almost made me laugh as she didn't really feel angered, but more, emotionless. To say she was insane would be incorrect, but her time in 'Hel' had most definitely caused her extreme apathy and discard for mortality. As it was I could sense her complete lack of fucks as to Odin and his whole family... If we were to become wives, the relation between Asgard and me may be a sore spot for the goddess.

Not that I wanted drama. This was the last bit of drama I had planned before I would refocus completely on games... As was my goal.

"I am already speaking to her. She just wants out, then she will come with me."

'I said nothing of the sort?'

'SHHH, I am trying to let him let you go, kay?'

'Sure. Why not, Midgard has to be somewhat better than Hel. At least it won't have death constantly bitching to me...'

'Great! I hope you'll love it!'

"Very well... May Valhalla bless me for this foolishness."

The spear made one final tap on the muraled floor, glass shattering noises cascading in the atmosphere before a circular portal of pitch black emerged and a distinctly dishevelled woman with flowing black hair, strong facial features and glittering blue-grey eyes stepped out. She wore a simple black and silver armoured best, her shoulders exposed somewhat as black spire-like swords dangled off her waist. Her gait was confident but strained as I noted several injuries scraped into her garb and limbs. We also matched eyeliner, without the white that I had.

"Ahhhh... Asgard..." A black-green light spread out around her, her tongue licking her lips as if she were a woman who had been walking in a desert without water for eons. It was a rather apt comparison I surmised.

"Daughter...?" Odin spoke out, his facial features trained into a visage of calm.

"Heh, you dare call me that after throwing me to the likes of 'her'!?"

Frigga winced whilst Odin took his daughter's hateful words and nodded, his emotional aura shifting to that of deep sorrow and hurt. The choice had hurt him.

"I- have, no way to apologise for, what I have thrown you to. B-but if I had not-"

"If you hadn't she would have plunged the 9 realms into her domain and we would all not be present to have this conversation." Hela sighed in pain, understanding and more than a touch of anger. But, over all of those complex feelings there was an overpowering sense of exhaustion. She was very close to reaching a certain level of torture that would have fractured her mind and driven her insane.

{System has detected the entity: 4-5-1-20-8}

{Does host wish to allow this entity within the chamber?}

'Yes, but, if it attacks, send it away.'

{Points from Reality Engine will need to be expended in such a case. Wish you best of luck with 4-5-1-20-8}

'What is Entity 4-5-1-20-8?'

{You'll now find out}

~Hello...~

'Oh fuck...'

...

World of Xandar...

A strange vessel appeared in orbit over the world that morning as the defences of the world were put into high alert. Starfighters were launched into patrols of the skies whilst the communication department of Xandar Security started to broadcast on all channels towards that ship.

At first there was silence and the Nova Corps began calling in their own starships to return back to the home-sector... Then there was an answer back... A woman with completely stunning looks and features standing in front of an entertainment screen that had footage of some combat running.

"Greetings Nova Corp and citizens of Xandar! My name is Freya, Goddess of Games and Entertainment! Sorry to interrupt your days, but you may want to pay attention for a few minutes, as I wish to introduce you to the concept of 'Virtual Reality Games'!"

Every citizen and skilled personnel listening to the broadcast frowned or cursed as they had worried over what was essentially a sales pitch by an alien species...

"Hehehe! Let's get started shall we!?"
